- Installing the Altman Easy Latch Kit into my friend Dave's '54 Chevy 3100! Follow along in this video as we install the latch kit into his passenger side door. The driver's side door install is pretty much identical.
Overall the door latches work very well..... with some minor adjusting. The instructions could use some work, and we were missing the nuts for the striker bolts as well as the handle strap screws were too short.
This is not a paid endorsement!

After watching your video a couple of times I have decided to order the Altman Easy Latch Kit.
A great big THANK YOU for making a great video to help others.
My pleasure.... if you have any questions feel free to ask!
I had to come back and watch your video just got my latches in need watch it so i can figure out how to do it🙌 great how to videos💯🙌🙏
Awesome! Thank you! In this video we did the latches in my buddies truck........... I'll be doing the latches in my own truck shortly :)
FINALLY A CHANNEL FOR AD TRUCK STUFF! I have never subbed so fast...
Thanks for subbing! Lots more videos on the way!
On Fantomworx, they had a Chebbie with the same problem. They spent a fortune and a ton of time fixing them!! Nice truck, Dave.
These latches aren't cheap...... but they certainly helped! :)
Thanks for the video. I have been working on my Altman latches, and got the exterior handles to work. But I could not get the interior handles to open the latch. Your video really helped. My interior door handle latch opens, thanks to you!
A few ways to skin a cat... just gotta make sure the push button is hitting the actual lever inside..... I'll be doing ANOTHER Altman latch install video soon on my truck...... Glad this was helpful!
What about door locks. Can you install power door locks with this kit
Great video. I have the same latches ready to install now. I want a T-shirt!! Ha ha.
Wow for the price of that kit dang I would be pissed! Awesome video take care.
I'll be making a new video of the Altman Latch Install..... will be doing the latches in my truck soon.
I’m glad that I ran across your video I’m getting ready to install my Altman latches on my 1950 3100. I see that Dave eliminated the trim from around his door glass, did he have to change the felt and how is glass held on the window mechanism?
Something I need to do to mine
Where does one order one of those cool t shirts?
Working on figuring out how to get these mass produced :)
How can I get a t-shirt like yours
Thanks for this video, and and others. maybe show video of this pretty blue pu!
I'll have to do a 1 on 1 with Dave..... giving a complete overview of his truck! It does make an appearance in several of my videos..... using his truck for reference when building mine :)
Use TAPE???????????? That's funny, GREAT IDEA, thanks
Wanted to keep the marring of the paint down as much as possible :)
I noticed you have a lever arm that I don't see in the other kits. Where did you get the kit?
I believe the lever arm you are talking about is what the door handle button pushes on to pop the latch??
Can you show a video of power window installation. And what power window kit did you use?
You bet I will! I should be getting to that very soon! We put these latches on my friend Dave's truck..... I'll be making ANOTHER few videos with installing these latches in MY truck...... converting to 1 piece side windows..... shaving door handles and installing poppers....... and installing power windows!
That’s awesome. Can’t wait. Thank you
@@ShowPhil I second the power window install request.
@@steve6548 It is coming!!!! :) Might be a month or so, but it IS coming for sure!
Where can i get a shirt like that? Love it!
Working on figuring out how to get these mass produced :)
Why does it look like you guys are still slamming the doors?
It's an illusion :) We are just being firm.... SO MUCH BETTER than factory..... The door seals and his door panels keep everything real tight.....probably didn't' help we were so used to slamming his doors in the first place either.
400.00
GEEZ! still slamming the poor door.
Latches perfect.... hinge just needs adjusting....... don't really need to "slam" it.
Wow that looks like a pain in the ass ... good work tho... you guys needs some power ratchets
The passenger side took longer as we were figuring out the little tricks here and there. Tweaking to get everything to shut correctly probably takes the longest :)
First you paint & then you align the doors ? 🤔🤔🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣waooo !
Truck was built several years ago........... we were messing with door alignment to see if it would help with the latch issue. Not ideal for sure!
