Came from NYT article -
Transit is very satisfying, and especially for anyone on the spectrum. For the most part trains are reliable, patterned, and consistent. The bright coloring and musicality are enjoyable. A video of doors kerplunking closed exactly captures that satisfying feeling. Love that it got 2M views even before the NYT linked to it!

As a Spectrum adult raising a spectrum child, it is soothing. My son loves my trains and buses as much as I do. NYCT forever; those in charge need to get it tofuckingether
Guess I'm on the spectrum now
0:16 I am from hong kong and I recognized that immediately!
It seems the YT algorithm is blocking comments that have a link to the New York Times Article that came out about train and subway announcements because of the link. The full title of the article is "The Hidden Melodies of Subways Around the World
When train doors close, these jingles warn riders to stand clear." and you can find it on their website. You can find the link to the article in the Community section of this channel.
That article led me here!
I just watched 3 and a half minutes of train doors closing, and I enjoyed every second of it.
Same! Why ist this so fascinating? 🤔😂
Exactly im obsessed with train doors
@@Whycantichangemyhandle. thanks for helping me rediscover this video, i just watched 3 and a half minutes of train doors closing again
2:10 the PATH has such a nice chime
I agree
Totally agree, I’m pretty sure i listened to it for like a hundred times 😂
NYT brought me here. This collection is superb! Great job
I’m used to the PATH, MTA, and NJT beeps the most but amazing how different some are. But I love the sound of the accelerating motor at the end.
I remember watching this video as a young lil' guy, holy shit the nostalgia
02:09 Brings back memories
3:25 the sound is... beautiful

Yeah true...
If you don’t know what it is it’s Victoria line in London Underground
1:10 is a vibe
The tube ones are just iconic 😌🇬🇧
Finally a sequel (other than Toy Story 2) that lives up to its predecessor.
3:07 I’ve been in this train in March of this year! They are amazing!
man im so glad that there's people like you who travel round the world to take videos of seemingly trivial things. Tho, this is a big part of my commutes anytime i travel, thanks for sharing!
What I like about this, is that it shows that different sounds mean the same thing and our minds are able to process it and understand it is amazing.
Great video! I love the Victoria Line and the S7 stock! :)
2:53 my fav lol XD
0:05 is my fav
My fav aswell lol and he noticed he was getting recorded lollll

We were in Dublin and rode the Hop on and Off Bus and the Luas on our last two days in Ireland in June 2019. We hope to be back in the next few Years.

1:13 has got to be one of my biggest pet peeves when riding the train.
If you're not getting off at the next station, get the fuck out of the doorway!
I Highly Agree
0:15 that transition 😂
The next station is: Please step back from the train doors
@@muhammadlatifbinmuhammadju2027 The next station is:請勿靠近車門,请不要靠近车門,Please stand back from the train doors.

I love Victoria Line train sound 😌

Thanks for this. I found out about it in today's New York Times (8/13/21). Wonderful to see your work compiled like this.
Ayy! A CTA door chime! Nice to see a train door announcement from my nearest city

The knobhead on TPX is a constant problem. I use TPX as they are my local and EVERY SINGLE TRAIN gets that at rush hour ... Without fail. They now have a warning siren on the platform that goes off as required.
The old British beeping sound also used for southern units but thameslink has a much newer British beeping chime
this is the best video ever

The Miami metro rail closing sound calms me due to fact I live in Miami.

Older subway trains in Munich (Type A from the video and also the similar type B) have manual announcements. Also, their doors must be opened manually by the passengers using the door handle.
Luckily Type A is (officially) getting retired by next year, although some employees from Munich’s transport authority told me that Type A might stay a little longer
@@XM.2005 As someone tending towards nostalgia, I'm not that happy to see the type A trains go away. They're iconic and comfortable, and in the past few years, some have gotten digital screens and automated announcements retrofitted. But it's necessary because replacement parts for 50 year old subway trains are hard to get anymore.
@@LunaDragofelis Actually the retrofit program you mentioned is exactly more or less the reason of why the A Type will stay a while longer. You see, part of the program is the installation of a new fire supression system on the newer B and C1 Trains (which will continue service until sometime in the 2030s) in order to comply with new security guidelines, which will take effect next year. According to the people I talked with, the system is not yet coming along very nicely with the rest of the trains tech. And on top of that, for some reason, replacement parts for B-type are harder to come by these days than for the A-type. So until these issues get resolved properly, the A-Trains will stay in service. Although neither the transit authority nor the personell are particularly happy about that.

Nice Oltonhall!
I believe that trimet max has the best sounds.
I've always found it funny how the PATH door chime often cuts off the "doors closing" announcement.

The windows on the doors on the GWR Class 150 Sprinter look very similar to Hong Kong MTR's M-stock.
The orginal windows in both trains may have come from the same company in the UK.
