- The refurbished Central line train has begun making a limited amount of journeys between Ruislip Gardens and Hainault. This short video shows the announcements of the train underground, and a clip of it launching into the tunnel.
If you are curious about the trains refurbishment, I have made another video showcasing the full details of it - feel free to check it out! - Zábava
The new motors just sound incredibly cursed on those lmao. Good they're running through the core now though.
Tbh i dont have too much of a problem with them, at least the trains are more reliable now
The motors sound like the victoria line motors
I do love the seat moquette pattern as it reminds me of the 1940s style moquette on the former LT Standard Stock.
It was inspired the older moquettes, it does look much better than the blue one (barman I think it's called?9
Look at how quiet its departure was shame they are not more though
This is the first testing phase the whole line will be replaced by the mid-end of 2025 the main worker for this change confirmed it
It's a shame they've made the windows like 20% smaller for the next station display indicator thing. One of the best things about the trains was the large windows that curve up the ceiling a bit, but now they've been covered up. Can anyone read the train number at the front of the train though? 132? 153? Would be nice to know the actual number so we can track exactly where on the line it is instead of relying on luck to see it.
It’s unfortunate but having a display to read what’s being said is an overwhelmingly positive change for accessibility
Train 132, leading carriage 91001 and 92001
@@tuqeOf course but it's only the "next station is" mesages on there really, which you can see when pulling into any station anyway. Important update announcements that the driver might say never get shown on them. I think the main issue I was getting at though is just how much space it's taking up, the display covers like 10% of the dropped wall/covered window area, it just seems like so much window was unessesarily covered. Consiering they had the trains completely stripped out it just seems like the system was designed inefficiantly, it's just a dot matrix display. I used to repair the platform ones and they really don't take much.
Thanks for the train number though railwaymedia. Will check if its nearby when im waiting for a central line train next
@@railwaymedialondonWill 132 always be attached to this specific refurbished train?
Love the new announcements, really looking to riding one of those when I get better.
What happened to you?

When do these run?
Is there a timetable for when this particular train is running?
On TSW4 yes
@@flox1514 What?
@@flox1514On TSW4? There is no Central Line route on there...
This seems to run every Monday and Tuesday as train 132
I went to London the other week to see if I could catch one but no luck
Do you know when these run?
There’s just 1 unit. Right now it’s running on Mondays through Wednesday but that’s subject to change
@@railwaymedialondon Okay. Cheers
They may be run on the stock transfer paths in the morning and evening peaks on Mon-Thu
Their refurbing these at a fair rate, they're getting one converted every 3-4 weeks on average. I drive trucks (logistics) delivering parts for the refurbs taking place
@@yosmosonic On any part of the line?
Amazing! Can’t wait to see one for myself! :)
How do you know when these refurbished trains are running?
They won't know until he spot them
Bro isn't me
Now we can see the Refurbished trains at Oxford Circus.
I want to see what’s does it look like when Refurbished Central Line train arrives Tottenham Court Road towards the east, I guess it will be more faster than the Normal 1992 stock
I love Sarah Parnell's voice!
It sounds the tractions motets
sound a bit like Victoria line
With the regenerative breaking it might finally cool down
It has some form of regen already. But yes maybe a more efficient form may make it cooler.
It's not going to cool down, it's just going to heat up less
Very good video!
Every platform on every line at every station on the system is differentiated by direction - eastbound, northbound, etc. Never understood why the addition of just that one extra word in the announcements is apparently such a problem. And the announced direction can change in synch with the direction shown on the platforms along the route eg Piccadilly line from southbound to westbound etc.
Doesn't the bound of the trains change if you're at different points? I think the Piccadilly line is north and south bound at Finsbury Park but east and west bound at Acton Town
@@railwaymedialondon re-read my final sentence.
@@roglaker9353I don’t actually understand what you’re talking about
Instead of eg "This is a Central line train to ..." it would Instead be "This is a westbound Central line train to ..."
i was literally at that station at that exact time!
Not bad for a rare ac motor sound and a new announcement sound. When did the ac motor replaced the dc motor sound is going to do?
It's going to fix the life of the trains. The vehicles had been sick with the dc ones
@@Great_WesternTVFanHm, well maybe we have to find out if they preferred the dc motor sound in real life if that’s the only cases.
Did you know the NGR trains use the London Underground LED font?
Nice video. Is there any website to track this train. Attempted a few times but never found it!
Intertube website
@@railwaymedialondon for the intertube website, is it shown as #001 or #132?
How do you know when it is running?

@@railwaymedialondon can I have a link please
Rumour has it they’re going to fit the Bakerloo line with new traction motors soon as well. They’ve already tested one with new dot matrix screens. This shows how desperate TFL are now. They’ve blown their budget on replacing the 1973 stock. Even then, only half of the line will be equipped with brand new trains to run alongside the 1973 stock for a long time to come.
Good video I subscribed!
Hope i can go on one!
Those announcements are disgusting… bring the old ones back
yup only the ac motors sound good
Why no west ruislip?
This particular train was scheduled to stable in Ruislip depot via Ruislip Gardens
Basically a 2009 stock now
I still miss the days when all the seats were sprung. Now it's like sitting on a box.
I've heard the 2nd refurbished train won't be in service until end of this year.
It's not only two trains, all the non refurbished 1992 stocks are getting changed to refurbished and will be out around next year
Sad to see the older acceleration sound is gone and replaced by something like a Victoria or S stock motor. :(
AC motors for you. More reliable and quieter.
They may be more reliable, but nothing beats the original, in my opinion.
@@frcdanoob9537 Less power consumption aswell
When is departed Stratford why did it sound like the s stock depart
Its due to the new motors being AC and not DC so probably the same motors as used on the s stock and 09 stock
One of the head workers for the project confirmed that they changed the engines to 2009/s stock engines for smoother rides
THE BRUSH MOTORS SOUNDED SOOO MUTCH BETTET WTF HAVE THEY DONE
They are all breaking down TfL needed as solution and these are much more reliable then the old ones
Central Line 1992 Tube Stock
yoo its a victoria line train
VICTORIA LINE 2.0 WHY DOES IT MAKE THATT SOUND
People who miss the old one
👇
Me
Me thay are not the same
Why is there only one still in service😅😅😅😅
???
because it's a prototype, when final testing is finished all the stock will be overhauled.
@@MannyAntipov is it? Ibe noticed 2 actually, so i was slightly wrong. 92 stock 91001 and 91201 or something like that
Only one exists
what do you mean by "still"?
0:03 wait... slow?!? Why?!?
Ugh its FAILING!
So it doesn’t crash into the train in front
I'll catch that train
Good train but already miss old announcements new one is clear and contributed to gender equality…… but boring. That’s been established.
But yes cool to see something fresh that’ll keep the tfl budget in check with new trains. Hearing the traction sounds feels like some weird hybrid of Central Victoria and Circle lines
They are just temporary announcements and will be changed to a female voice later.
@@AmandaBjurkvist What is your source for this info?
@@rossmarks7856The new announcements are confirmed permanent
@@Daniellovesbusesanstrains That's a huge shame.
@@rossmarks7856Through a Freedom of Information request for tube announcements (which includes audio files for both the new announcements for the Bakerloo and central) contains a txt file specifying that they're temporary and they will be looking into finding a female voice over artist

Are these announcements still only for testing and they will get a female voice in, or are they permanent with this nerdy sounding guy
Its most likely permanent
Wrong, it's temporary @@user-acs64
@@FarmYardGamingI’ve also heard they’re temporary but what are they being replaced with?

The Motors Are Litterly The S Stock Motors Sounds Like A S Stock!
#CentralLineRebish
I don’t like the motors at all!
Nope that was absolutely nothing for the ac motors traction sounds but the dc motors tractions sounds are much more better.
TSW4 I love this route of Bakerloo. Nice Graphics 😂
This is real life.
1992 stock, more like 1992 S stock
Why are they not speaking English is this a test run in china?
what?
@@ImpossibleRai the people in the background
No they are probably tourists
Oh right
Stratford in is North East London, UK, Liverpool Street is in Central London, Ruislip Gardens is in west London
