In an alternate universe, the rabbit siblings choose violence and choke Leon with his own cape, while hidding on top of each other in a trenchcoat. The “culprit” is never found
You win
love the two interpretations that can come from this, either one can assume the position of champion by killing the current reigning champion or they just really want to kill Leon completely unrelated to getting back their farm.
either way, I think rabbits should be allowed to do murder. just once.
The real culprit frames a bunch of wooloo
I mean, we know Cottontail has the strength for it...
Each time their found to be the culprit, they use Dialga to change that and go back into hiding
The original nuzlocke was completely story-based, but I feel like a lot of poketubers have forgotten/streamlined it to just a challenge - a lot of times the deaths in runs don't feel impactful, which was the original point!
So i LOVE seeing you add a lot of story elements. I love the lore, and when Flopsy and Mopsy passed i felt the sadness of their siblings and rooted for the win even more. And seeing Peter and Cottontail have their own families at the end is bittersweet. Absolutely please continue to add narratives!
@@heinzdoofenshmirtz8643 There's a great finished written one called Dear Diary, which was a darker Black nuzlocke run.
I wish the creator for Nuzlocke on Ice didn't die, that was great.
One of many good things to come from 4chan
Yeah, I've noticed a lot of CZcamsrs who do it don't really have a storyline to it and I really like the typelocke idea with them kind of modeling themselves off of being a gym leader and then they grow so much that they become the Elite Four champion. Like their passion for bug or water Pokemon just got him so far that now they're the ruler of the Elite Four that is a cool idea.
It reminds me of Marriland's nuzlockes from back when he was still focused on YT. His nuzlockes gave the Pokemon so much character and actual story arcs through his worldbuilding, and it really helped me appreciate species I had turned a blind eye towards before. (If you remember Carrot the Raticate, you're a real one 😿😿) Flopsy's death had me holding back tears bc it really felt like a Marriland nuzlocke death - he tried so hard, but in the end he just couldn't bear the loss of his twin 😭😭😭😭
Love it
Just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate the stories you tell with your runs and I totally support you doing it more. As much as I love absurdly specific and challenging nuzlockes, they often come at the cost of the emotional attachment and sense of narrative that made the original comic so beloved.
TLDR; love what you bring to the community Flygon. Perfect blend of challenge and fun. At least one youtube commenter fully supports this direction.
^ I came here to say this ^
Never thought I'd get misty eyed over a freaking Diggersby...
Truly appreciate you!
Love the mix of Peter rabbit and Watership down for the intro!
If you ever do a cat only run, you should give them warrior cat names
i agree
Can’t hear about warrior cat names without thinking of Griffin McElroy’s utter bafflement at them. “BRAMBLE PELT?!”
YES WARRIOR CATS
yessss
Yes warriors PLEASE
The story aspect of this was incredible. It really adds a lot of flavor and impact to what happened in the game. Having that extra bit is really indicative of the care and effort you put into these videos, just like the Stone Family correspondence. As much as I love to see it, please don't let any future challenges suffer because you feel like you didn't have a good narrative reason for them. It's icing on a delicious cake.
Obsessed ngl love the story driven stuff. At first I was like "damn how many bunnies are there!?" Only to be humbled by 4
There's actually more given Wigglytuff, Whismur and the Nido lines
@@TheMountyPresents Whismur and Wigglytuff yes. The nidos are as much a true bunny as prehistoric sloths that could shred cave bears are “sloths”. Kinda defeats the spirit of what we call a bunny.
@@TheMountyPresents how is whismur a rabbit?
@@TheMountyPresents and all of them are in the game too (dlc)
@@BJGvideosBy being a rabbit.
Its evolved forms, not so much, but Whismur is 100% a rabbit.
Damn you, this one actually had me in tears.
This is why I love your Nuzlockes; you actually manage to turn them into story arcs so each one feels unique beyond the different game and restrictions.
Realising that the rival is HOP has exhaling out my nose, mostly in fear that he is destined to send your bunnies to the farm in the sky
The strong narrative is always a selling point for the FlygonHG nuzlockes, so I'm all in for going ham with it on themed runs. Making the pokemon a family on an adventure certainly gives it an extra hmph, especially considering you keep the same party for the whole journey. Another banger
I never thought I’d see Historic Landmark Designation be the plot of a pokemon video- but what do you know? As a historic preservationist myself, I appreciate you writing that part in presumably only for me 1:15
When I saw the rabbits being introduced as a family in the beginning of the video, I KNEW it would be sad at some point. Never did I think I'd shed a tear watching a nuzlocke video, but here I am.
I love how creative your challenges are. Also I'm watching all your videos from the beginning and the production quality is SO much better now. Omg operation Save The Farm what this is perfect
The nuzlocke I've been waiting for for so long! (Also Wigglytuff is also a rabbit)
Wigglytuff is such a good cute rabbit
@@emilysmith2965 very very cute
Also the nidos
pyukumuku too
@@Hirouka1 I don't think they are supposed to be rabbits. At least not the other evolution lines.
I've never been so emotionally affected by a nuzlocke video before. The story, the Pokémon, just... everything. This was such a whirlwind of a journey.
I absolutely LOVE this narrated sort of nuzlocke I hope you'll do more of these in the future !!
Also RIP flopsy and mopsy😔 you will surely be missed thanks to you Peter and cottontail were able to save the farm and proceeded to have families of their own, you are the true heroes❤️
I am appalled at how unrealistic that ending is. There should be at least ten kits per bunny there, not nearly enough breeding.
In all seriousness, I love the story elements, and I hope you keep doing them. =)
As someone who always adds new story elements to my challenge runs just for fun, it's great to see you do that here! After so many playthroughs you start to lose attachment to the Pokemon you've used. Adding a unique spin of story for them really makes them more memorable. RIP Flopsy and Mopsy
Absolutely love the nuzlocke with narrative story!
It's sad that they have to lost the twins to Leon. But it also cute when there are two Azurills and a Scorbunny in the ending part. I hope they live happily in their farm.
Oh my God, man. What an incredible little story to be told through a nuzlocke. Beautiful work
Love the storytelling so much fun to watch
Is Wigglytuff not a rabbit? Sylveon too sorta? The Nidos are also technically rabbits too. That's why they evolve with a Moon Stone, it's because rabbits + moon are very connected in Japanese culture
The nidos are def rabbits i dont think sylveon is though. They're the same mix of cat and dog that eevee is imo but they do have aspects of moon rabbit in their design apparently. But wigglytuff I think you could make a case for being a bunny also
today i learned the nidos are rabbits, thank you for this enlightenment
oh cool rabbits and the moon are associated w each other in Chinese mythology too :>
Nidos are based on rhinos. There is even easter egg in the games: since it's extremely difficult to breed rhinos in captivity, Nidoqueen can only reproduce in the wild and become sterile when owned by a trainer.
i think clefable would be closer to a rabbit than wiggly but not quite. silveons more like a cat/dog thing whathever the eevees supposed to be, we had this conodron back in the dog only run, theyre closer to foxes and maybe some felines. and the nidos are more like rats/rodents and rabbits ARENT the latter.
rabbits are my favourite animals, so I clicked on this so damn quickly.
I had hoped that you'd do more of these [insert species/category of animal here] only runs, but I didn't think you'd do one of rabbits already. Perfect way to kick off the new year ;)
Yay! I loved your Dog-onlyrun of SV, and I'm looking forward to more animal-based nuzlockes!
Oh my god, with this story set up I genuinely got teary-eyed at the end. Well played sir, well played...
Wooloolemon is my new favorite store
Really great theme idea! I hope to see more Chinese New Year themed runs in the future! I'll have to try a challenge like this myself someday.
Absolutely moved by the story. Never have I been so hopeful for a deathless run. Thank you for this incredible Nuzlocke!
OK - we NEED more story based Nuzlockes. This was amazing.
The storytelling is top notch, I felt so bad during that final fight. And the building of suspense had me stressed during a couple of parts! Wonderful job
I was so enthralled in this challenge! This last two challenges you have really nailed it with the narrative, this specially, and the deaths of Flopsy and Mopsy had me tearing up. Thank you, this was refreshing and beautiful.
“Really one of the pokemon of all time!” Might have exhaled pretty hard out of my nostrils on that one
The added narrative is shockingly good at making me invested again after seeing so many of these hardcore runs. Keep it up!
Hell yeah! Funnily enough you could've used cat pokemon too. In Vietnam we have the cat instead of a rabbit. The lore in this vid is already insane tho lmao
Not me feeling genuinely emotional at the end... lovely run and story!
I love the narrative vibe; it made me on the edge of my seat for the champion battle! Plus it lets you add more flair and your signature humor into it, which is always a win. Your narration is easily what brings me so much joy about your videos, and now I'm extra excited to see what you have in store for that run you mentioned having worked on for a while. Keep being amazing, Dr HG! The rabbit siblings will be remembered.
really like the story building thing u did in this video
makes for a nice change of pace in the "repetitive" nuzlocke runs we see everywhere
keep up the good work im always happy to see a new video of u being uploaded
Impeccablestory writing this run. Keep up the amazing work as always Dr. Hg!!
I just looked up other rabbit based Mons just in case and it says Nidoran male is a small rabbit but Nidoran Female. It's evolution Nidoking shares traits of Rhinos,Gorillas,Rabbits and Porcupines. So Flygon could've used a Nidoking
i think a clefable would have been more in line then that honestly, but still weird.
While there's no doubt that Nidoking does have those traits, I wanna say that if you looked on Bulbapedia, take what it says about what Pokemon are based on with a grain of salt. Like for Nidoking's page, it didn't used to say it was based on kaiju. They never figured that out until someone translated an interview from 2001 where Ken Sugimori outright says many Pokemon are based on kaiju. Even then, the people behind Bulbapedia still haven't realized that Nidoking is very obviously inspired by Baragon specifically.
Wigglytuff could also be used
There are 4 overall siblings of the Peter Rabbit tale though. Adding another rabbit pokemon would've ruined the story, and Nidoran doesn't exactly fit any of the siblings' names so it couldn't be a good replacement.
@@mosstits While ur Correct he does have a cousin Called Benjamin
The story for this was so incredibly moving... Got me tearing up near the end!!
The SCRIPT. I loved that so much, you could tell how much you enjoyed piecing the narrative together - amazing work Flygon 💖
honestly super excited for more "lore" based videos! i think one of the biggest reasons why this is my favorite nuzlocke channel/your twitch streams are always so fun is because you're just insanely creative and funny on top of being good at pokemon (the daddy stone arc never fails to make me laugh). i think this video is definitely one of my favorites in the flygon cinematic universe for sure
The sound design was wonderful😊
Also loved the ending scene with Peter and Cottontail's kids by their side.
When Mopsy fell, it reminded me of the Weasley twins only for none of the twins to actually survive...
They will always be missed and never forgotten RIP
I love the narrated videos! One of my absolute favourites was the Black 2 Holiday Special! So much work was put into that, and I still find myself sometimes rewatching it :D Can't wait for the video you mentioned at the end; it must be brilliant!
I do really like the narrative in the nuzlocke story. The christmas episode where you spoke in limerick (or just rhymes idk literature terms) was amazing and im always glad to see more in this genre!
Peter: I did it. I saved the farm.
Matti: What did it cost?
Peter: Everything...
I absolutely love when you do more narrative runs, and this one was no exception! Absolutely awesome.
Two minutes in and I’m already busting a gut watching this. “Wooloolemon athletica??” How do you come up with this stuff?? Your storytelling will always be the best of any poketuber, hands down. Thanks for always working so hard to produce great content!
Ah yes, Bidet. The best psychic/fairy trainer lmao 🤣
been watching your challenges almost since the start of your channel, my god you keep getting better and better. Really love the themes you're working into your nuzlockes nowadays. Really appreciate all the effort you put into your videos!!!
Absolutely love this video idea and I'm cracking up at the introduction
...if the option ever comes up, I'd love to see my favourite animals, tortoises/turtles, represented in a Torts Only Run somehow... 🐢
you’d have a full team!
Torkoal
Blastoise
Torterra
Carracosta
Drednaw
Turtonator
@@Deelee2020 don't think you can have Torterra in Sw/SH, nor Carracosta in S/V
@@Elavieate I don’t think torterra is in SV either! Just a dream team, it’s not really possible in game (yet? 👀)
Omg your so creative I could never keep making videos to make everyone happy.😀
Flygon, I LOVE it when you a narrative to certain runs! It adds even more emotional attachment to the mons past just naming them. You give them personalities, interests, gimmicks, bonds, and that adds way more to an interesting challenge than you think.
I understand that you won't be able to do it for all your themed videos, but hell if it isn't entertaining when you do. Thank you for making such an awesome video.
I love it when you add narrative content to your nuzlockes! It spices them up a ton
Insane video loved the energy had a lot of fun watching
???? It been 3 minutes
@nero7862 Maybe they’re a patron; I’m pretty sure patrons get early access to videos.

Happy New Year from Taiwan!
新年快樂!
I love these new nuzlockes you've been putting out recently. Not only do they deviate from the standard monotype challenges, but they actually have a legit story line that is quite compelling. Keep these amazing videos coming Dr. HG!
I love how you sometimes give your Nuzlocke runs extra plots.
Appreciate the homage to Year of the Rabbit. Happy New Year everyone!
Hello everyone
Hi
Hi
Incredible work Flygon. I love your channel and this may be one of your best videos yet. I thought the story was supreme, especially the finale. The monologue and music were very powerful together at the end, leading to a very emotional and moving experience. Bravo! I love the standard challenges, and I would love for you to continue to explore the narrative videos even further!
This is one of my favorites now. Love the inclusion of a narrative and the emotion it evoked at the end there.
u are so fucking handsome
17:16 that joke is so good. Honestly the funniest part is that in my class we just got to that part on Friday since we are reading the play.
This was so good! Love the story narrative, it made me feel so invested to watch to the end. Great video as always!
I absolutely love the stories you have been doing. It makes you feel more attached to the pokemon, which is always cool for a nuzlocke.
The narratives are the best part of your videos. That’s what makes your nuzlockes unique and my favorite
currently binging all your themed nuzlockes and I just really love the ones with a story. brings back the role playing to this rpg
I loved the narrative you added to this video. It was a nice change of pace and made the deaths hit that much harder. Great stuff!
I love the stories in these nuzlockes so goddamn much, you're fantastic at storytelling! I didn't expect this vid to make me cry, but that goes to show your prowess at turning simple events into compelling narratives!
Dude I love the narrative nuzlockes. My absolute favorite one is the one you did for Christmas where you rhymed the whole time. This one I teared up at Mopsy's death. Your actually a really good story teller.
Love it! The way you intertwine challenging gameplay and simple (but funny) storytelling always gets me
Bruh the twins GOT me. Actually yelling at my phone, I was invested
this is one of, if not my favorite, nuzlockes that you've ever done. not even counting the original story stuff (which isn't my taste that much but still works) it's really clear how much effort you put into this challenge with switching movesets, held items, pre-planning so many fights. this was a unique challenge idea and i love how you stuck to it, giving a refreshing feel to sword/shield nuzlockes as many battles that normally aren't difficult or even mentioned were a task with this team.
The whole point of Pokémon's original story is "be friends with your pokemon, you'll never win if you just use them as tools or weapons," so I like the narrative bits because it kind of highlights that aspect of the game while still getting into the strategy at the same time. Very well done, and I can't wait for the next one!
I really loved the narrative there and the details in the setting and having a goal made the challenge/theme a lot more unique and memorable rather than just having a random rag tag band of misfits in a team (which is still good, but this just steps it up a lot!). Also it really just breaks in the core of a nuzlocke, originally being based on a narrative with heart wrenching scenes when a fan favourite dies or gets a lot more characterised in the moment of their death and it feels a like a lot more is at stakes while watching. But brilliant video man! Love the progression of your content to include more and more story-based elements in them.
in the sequel the rabbits travel to Paldea to study necromancy and bring their siblings back to life
WOW! a minute and a half in and im enthralled by the storytelling! i love the direction you're going with these, gives them a lot more substance. on the other hand i understand they take more time to make but honestly i hope you keep going!
love the storylines in these! a lot of nuzlockes (tho i love them) become pretty repetitive after a while once you start to know the strategies. i love nuzlocke comics for this reason too. keep up the good work!!
also, i DID exhale more through my nose at the hop line, thank you. i also liked the line about heros trying rather than suceeding so much that i wrote it down lol
Yo! That was amazing! The narrative adds so much more drama and makes losing a teammate hurt even more. Absolutely spectacular! Keep it up!
Loved the narrative, keep it up. It makes it more interesting to watch games that you've already beaten so many times
This is definitely one of the best videos I've ever seen. That last fight almost had me in tears. Keep up the amazing content!
This was so good! I love the narrative format here. It reminds me of the old style Nuzlocke comics from the way back times. Awesome work as always HG and it's been really fun to see you grow as a creator!
I have really enjoyed the narratives in these recent videos! Your nuzlockes already tend to strike this great mix of humor and morbidity that borders on existential dread, and it's so great. The stories really highlight that!
Very cool you're pivoting into a more narrative direction, because I always loved to see all the little things you put together even for some of the jokes in the past. Looking forward to that vid you've been working on!
Missed this one when it came out - so delightful! Having such a small crew really does increase the connection with them as a viewer, and make every risked crit so much more high stakes.
Love the narrative stuff here. You nailed it, makes for a lovely change from the usual formula
FlygonHG lore is fantastic. This man could right a 12 part book series and I’d not get even remotely bored
Oh my god. It’s a Peter Rabbit parody. This is amazing! I love your vids already, but seeing a story (ik it’s pretty mainstream as kids stories go but still) from my local area just makes this video even more special ! Watching rn, confident you’ll win >:]
I just want to say, absolutely love the new narratives you've been putting in your videos! It gives them so much character and I'd love to see you do more!
Once upon a time there were four little Rabbits, and their names were - Flopsy, Mopsy, Cotton-tail, and Peter. They lived with their Mother in a sand-bank, underneath the root of a very big fir-tree. 'Now, my dears,' said old Mrs. Rabbit one morning, 'you may go into the fields or down the lane, but don't go into Mr. McGregor's garden: your Father had an accident there; he was out into a pie by Mr. McGregor. Now run along, and don't get into mischief. I am going out.'
Watched 5 of your challenges today 😂 love these more story based lock challenges, really adds a new dimension to them. Great content
I love the narrative supporting the run - definitely keeps it fresh, and I was emotionally invested in those bunnies. Can't wait for the next one!
I love the narrative aspect, it makes your nuzlockes so much more interesting!
I really love your narratives - have ever since the Christmas special. RIP to our favorite twins that look absolutely nothing alike. May Peter and Cottontail oversee the farm for a long time to come.
I’ll be honest the second death didn’t hurt as much because it felt less tailor made. Just kind of a general “your beat isn’t good enough”, but that first one of “imagining his sibling’s futures in his final moments to cope with his own death” hit like a truck. Maybe it’s just because I value my own family so much, but that’s the most emotion I’ve ever felt for a diggersby
I appreciate the narratives you've been adding to these runs, they're a lot of fun
As someone who got into nuzlockes very early on where they were about the story and the comics on DA.
Seeing these come back in your videos is lovely! Thank you
Rabbit Pokémon? Very limited, huh
Maybe barnyard animals only next time? Cow, sheep, horsie, goaty-goat, doggo, catto, big bad wolf, and dragon. :-)
new video!!! i'm so excited!! i always try to come running as soon as i get a notification for these!
oh.. oh wow alright you're going hard in the story already. i love this so much. hopefully these rabbits can save their farm! the floopy doop clause is.. very concerning, though.
Love the narrative elements! Christmas episode, the letters from papa stone, makes it a blast to watch.
I've gotta say, I absolutely LOVE how you're not just playing the game with extra rules, you turn it into a fun story as well. I love these sorts of runs, and I hope to see more sometime!
