  • In this video I tested out a Wiggy's Super Light sleeping bag! It's rated for 0 degrees F. It performed well in 20F and an added bonus is that it's compatible with the MSS (modular sleep system).
Update! This particular bag is rare! Not all Wiggy bags have the button snaps!

Ive used every shitty low end Walmart bag all the way up to military bags , marmot , North face and other so called high end synthetic and goose down bags all over the country . Since I bought several wiggys bags im not going to waste my time trading down in cold rating or quality to freeze my ass off , ever again . Im 59 years old and cold natured myself . Ime sticking with what works . WIGGYS .

It gets colder , simply buy the wiggys overbag, good for -60 F .

I just ordered this bag on facebook marketplace and I went out on a limb by getting the wiggy's instead of an intermediate bag - hoping that it would fit in my patrol bag that I still have. Honestly I didnt think I would get an answer as to their compatibility of the bags until I got it in the mail, so thanks for surprising me with the answer ahead of time.

PS I also literally just bought a new polartec 300 fleece like you're wearing, so thats just a little extra weird coincidence.

Justin Pierce I wasn’t aware of how rare this particular bag was until I talked to wiggy on the phone. He said it was a special order. I didn’t know this as well until I bought one of his bivy sacks that had no button snaps. I still use it regardless. Sorry for the misrepresentation.

Do you use the gortex bivy with the wiggys?
Polypropylene long johns or fleace= toasty.
I have stuffed wool blankets in side the bivvy for more layers and cushion when sleeping in the back of a duce and a half. With no cot or pad.

Phillip Jacobson I actually have not used it with the bivy yet. But I bet it would be a great extreme cold weather set up!

Hey Nick, thanks for the review. I've never heard of this Wiggy's bag. That's great that you can snap it to the patrol bag! Is the Wiggy's bag a lot lighter than the MSS Intermediate bag? It looks like it is. Also does the 2 bags compress smaller than is you used the 2 MSS bags (I'm hoping) .I'll have to Google it. Appreciate the info.

Jeff Richards this particular bag is the only one I’ve seen with the snaps, ever. I’ve emailed the company and he said he doesn’t remember ever making them that way. He did say if could have been a custom order. This bag is really no different than the intermediate bag other than a little more wiggle room.

You can always add snaps to any bag that fits, and has enough hem or wind flap hanging over the edges. should not be to hard to find the snap size.

I was hoping that you would have shown how big or small the bag is when rolled up into a stuff sack?

    • @WintersKamp
      @WintersKamp  Před 4 lety

sumporfuk it fits perfect into an NBC chemical suit stuff sack. And that’s half the size of the MSS compression sack.

Great video buddy. Wondered if you help and could shed some light on the wiggys bag, as I really want one despite its expense. Question is if you had to re-buy it would you ???? And would you have benefited from the wiggys Thule in hind sight if you had the chance to change it....I'm located in the UK and import will be high, so want to get some good info, lots of conflicting reviews online....Many thanx in advance...bex

I would definitely buy again, and this time around I would buy the overbag. The bags are very roomy. I love stuffing jackets, sweaters and extra socks at the foot of the bag. It keeps your cloths dry and warm for the next day. It’s a great investment for sure! Not ultra light, but functional and the quality and customer service is worth the extra weight,

I just purchased the wiggys artic hunter set up with his gortex bivi, rated to -80. I will test the system on a thermo rest pad. I live in zone 3, so I expect to test it at below 0F (colder the better😉). Stay tuned!
