I did
@@SophieBurrell Hooman beans :)
Had plenty of terrible stage mixes in my day. Recall more than one gig where I had no idea what I was playing. Don’t think I’ll get in ear monitors as I’m in a cover band playing gigs where using them may be difficult. I do wear filtered ear plugs on stage however. Definitely do a good job protecting my hearing and I still can hear the stage mix.
Im fairly new to playing live, I do a lot of live looping. Played out about 3 times, every time I could not hear myself well, shite monitors and front of house further forward than me. If I make make a mistake looping, and it will repeat over and over. Already had some great shure in ears, so used them at the next gig and wow. Got a lot of compliments, people saying how much my playing had improved. I hadn't improved I could just hear what I'm playing. I really enjoyed playing, and knowing whatever shite the venue uses I'm covered. So i'm with you 100% with in ears.
Awesome video SOPHIE. Thanks for sharing. Keep the content coming. Hope you have an incredible weekend. Much love. Hugs
Yay! A new Mac! I like this episode. Story time is nice. 😊
my guitar idol and my favorite artist of all the time ❣
Interesting story Sophie. You rock!
Fantastic video Sophie hope you have a fantastic weekend 🎸🎸
Thanks for sharing your experiences. Use your monitors on good days.
Hey Sophie thank you very much for your input! Are in ear monitors suitable for entry to mid level mixing and posting stuff on social media? I find studio headphones to be uncomfortable during long sessions. Does anyone have any experience mixing with in ears?
Something I had to get used to with IEMs though... the sound in the buds is not what the FOH hears... it's a very direct sound. That said, I have been using them for about 4 years now and they are worth very penny I spent. Getting a good set up is a significant investment though, between the IEM transmitter/receiver and the ear buds. Although I went pretty cheap on the ear bud part which saved me some $$. I have been thinking about upgrading them as of late... 20% off a good set might push me over the edge... I'll have to look into these. Thanks, bean.
Really really interesting Sophie .
Thanks for sharing 🤘💯
Glad you are up and running at full chat again👍👍.
Sad to hear you are already suffering with tinnitus 😩😩
To late for me to ever play on stage now 😩😩😩. But love being a bedroom guitarist 🎸❤️💯😎
IEM's and M32-Q app to control your own onstage mix.
I'm curious do you have a twitch? even if u weren't there often id be there!
Yes
Oh Sophie você já ouviu falar no Acústicos e Valvulados pode ser que melhore seu dia quando não estiver dos melhores...gosto muito deles...
I guess a sound by sound comparison would be a difficult review.
Do you play now if so what is the name of your band? Thanks
I have a little experience mixing sound. One thing I try to do when mixing is ignore what everyone tells me to do.... "Could you give me more of my guitar in my monitor", etc. I listen in to their aux send and rather than just turn up whatever they requested, I consider what else I might turn down that might help their guitar shine more, but use fewer decibels. One misconception people have about IEM's - "look, when I take them out of my ear they can barely be heard....so they can't be hurting my hearing. I try to explain to kids who use earbuds that it's not how loud they are in your hand, but rather how close the sound source is to your ear drum. I'm pretty sure this next generation of kids becoming adults are going to have major hearing issues down the road, all thanks to their personal devices and their ear buds.
This is the way. I don't know you, but just by your descriptions I can tell you are a good sound engineer. By turning down other things you are still effectively giving them more guitar in their monitor!
Hola Sophie! Thanks for schooling us with all this cool gadgets! Miguel 🇵🇷
So cute my Queen !🤗
Very nice 👍
Javans comiiiinnngggg.....thanks my idol ....the best👏👏👏👏👏

Interesting. Quite logical, if think about it. 😌

I formally challenge you to cover Steve via's ''blue powder'' your pitch and timing are so perfect I want to see if you can hang with the boys like Satriani and Petrucci 😁
Fricken tinnitus my dad gave it to me at a very young age grew up with it and thought it was a normal thing 😅
❤️
What's on your hand? Is it your hair colour?
👍
While custom in-ears are great, they're not worth the price imho. I recently did a lot of digging in to in-ears, and apparently, there's very little difference between a $50 pair of in-ears and ~$1000-2000 pair. It all depends on the quality and number of drivers. More drivers = more frequency ranges, so more detailed sound, guitarists usually go for at least 3, but ~6 is one of the more common and better options. According to some honest professionals, there's ~5% difference between a budget and an expensive difference *as long as they fit properly*. Fit is important, that's why customs exist. Better seal = better sound. A lot of people have slightly different ears so not everything can fit the same way. If you can afford it - it's a really good quality of life thing, but i personally wouldn't suggest spending more than $200 on in-ears, diminishing returns hits real hard past $100-150 in in-ear land
i swear to IEMs, im not a stage musician, but I use my Raptgo Hook-x for music production, just listening to music, even when playing PC games
Я в тебя влюбился)
👍👍😊
Headphones I would never use again as you can't judge the sound levels. If you cannot judge you may go above the safe limit of sound.
The first one cook off pasta.
The secound at song news off yours create.
The threeth from special day merry christmas.
The four yours guitars playing games, endind always off yourself lovely so much 🤟😡🤘
What😳
Are you related to rusty
You're charming (and talented too). please take my money!😸
Did you dye your hair AND your hands? 🤣
eho
no joke, protect your ears. tinnitus is a pain. I lose sleep every night.
After 40 years of playing live I can’t hear anything on or off stage😂
Need to wear hearing protection as you could get Tinnitus. Ears ring constantly.
Why does Rick Allen wear on ears over his in ears?
@Sophieburrell5 please answer my question.
Can't help but wonder how your hands got so red.
I think from hair dye, but who knows?
S
N entendi porra nenhuma. Mas é isso aí
WHAT DOES THAT RING ON THE MIDDLE FINGER MEAN? 🇧🇷🇬🇧🤟😁🎼🧃🧃🍿🍿
👍😉🇮🇩
First time I've heard the term 'Ear Monitors' ... thanks. What a beautiful face. (Please don't tat it.)
😱😱
$$$
??????????
Never had a set of IEMs where the sound quality is remotely pleasing - from top of the line to bargain bin, they’re all complete rubbish in my experience.
The one time I wore them, I took them out. I didn't like them.
Did you just die your hair, your hands are a dead give away 😂
Dang it don't scare me like that thought you were sporting a hickey break ma heart 😢😭💔
🤘
I can’t use them. They make you feel like you’re all alone on the stage. You can’t communicate with people. It takes the fun out of live playing for me.
Hands match the hair🤔 love them both 😉
Awesome artist keep going
Wanna know to ur new tattoo of ur right hand
AND dont cut your hair never has ever cut your hair rigth good lucky love fit...
The problem is they kill your hearing faster. Trust me, my ears are damaged from using headphones.
I mean, just...just turn them down, yeah? A good pair of headphones are much safer than almost all of the alternatives.
@@logangrzesiek8749 Turning them down doesn't work. You have to get them off your ears completely.
@@endezeichengrimm I don't follow - just lower the decibel output? How long were you wearing headphones for them to cause damage?
@@endezeichengrimm Then get them off your ears!!!
You can control the volume or dB input so they don’t hurt your ears.
Your hands are so red!
what is the point of this comment
Good Afternoon I Need Phones That Works Equal a Reference Monitors But I Don't Have Much Money. May you help me? Greetings From Brazil 🇧🇷South America.
why do you call people "Beans"?
Crap
Keep tech out of your body period.....too close to be truly felt....music should fill the air, thrive in the vibrations, environment is everything ....sooo many live gigs are shite, because the space does not let the music be alive,...quenched out by too much crowd , structure & poeple....ear monitors are a prison...dont be trapped.
you don't "need" them. you're better than this clickbait
Omg she dyed her hands with that hair.....lol
@Te.legram_MrsSophieBurrell maybe....lol
They were so vivid on camera....ha!
Can't wait for the release of your album...👍💓🎸
