I’ve had v brakes for four years and never knew about the three points for spring tension. Thank you!

First one I have seen the actual mentions taking the arms off and adjusting the tension using the three points. I'm having a few problems adjusting my brakes between the different variations and this helped me understand the impacts of each of them...

I bought new bike and the front pad was rubbing slightly, and niggled me 😁. I tried adjusting with the small adjuster bolt but it didn't work so I followed this video and adjusted one side spring in one of the three holes at back of mechanism now works fine. Couldn't understand why one side needed such big adjustment. This video was the only one that offered this advice, thank you.

I was going to say the same thing about those washers/spacers on the brakes. Even that professional bike tool videos channel haven't mentioned it or the other info.

You've just given me another good idea. The bike shop told me to only adjust the brake blocks at the brake lever fine adjustment barrel, then the cable will never get damaged at the pinch bolt at the v-brake. But the fine adjustment at max means the brake blocks are only half worn out, so all I have to do is reverse the spacers, putting the larger ones on the brake block side, so it will bring them nearer the wheels.

Be careful not to over tighten the Allen bolts that hold the brake arms to the frame. Steel bolts going into alloy threads can strip fairly easily. I slightly did it, but no big damage occurred, just a warning.

Thank-you! I went to two bike shops! Really! The first couldn't figure out what was wrong and jimmied the front breaks with a zip tie. Oh no not good. Went to the second one and they said I needed to replace the whole apparatus because I had the wrong set? What?
What was wrong was that somehow (i think the first bike shop) bent the little metal pole that sticks out to create the tension. Was bent flat down so of course there was no tension.
I thought this would be so difficult! I managed to straighten the metal pole and place it in the middle hole as instructed and voila! All beautiful! Can't believe that it took two bike shops and just my intuition to look for a video that was simple and elementary and so clear on what to do! Thanks again.
What is the little pad with a tiny screw in it at the bottom of the each brake?
    Thanks again!

One of my side arms (not the pad) is always closer to the rim. It doesn't come back all the way, even when the tension is set at the highest setting. Even when I center them, once I pull the brake lever once, one of the arms sticks closer to the wheel and the pad rubs on the rim. WTF!

The only way to Heaven is to be born again by saying out loud "Jesus is Lord" and believing in ur heart that God rose Him from the dead then you must live for Him i suggest getting baptized, repenting(asking for forgiveness of your sins and making a radical turn from ur sin), fasting (doesnt have to be from food), evangelizing(spreading the Gospel), praying, and reading the Bible. God and Jesus love all of you hmu with any questions have a good day God bless✝️❤️❤️ good works dont get u to Heaven God's grace does John 3:16

this sucked. you get the the end. the actual adjustment part. but you dont say what turning it in or out does. what direction makes the brake arm have more tension. like if one side is pulling harder than the other. you want to screw it in or out. etc. i give you a c for effort.
