    Great explanation! Could you explain how to remove taxi lights and other obstacles that are in the middle of taxiways and ramps?

    • @SDFalchetti
      @SDFalchetti  Před 4 měsíci +1

      That's a bit harder. The lights are a setting in the taxiway object, so if you create a taxiway you can show or hide the edge lights. Unfortunately to get rid of lights in a default airport, you'd need to remove the default taxiway and make your own.

      @@SDFalchetti Hello, great tutorial, got my Sub! I'm just learning how to correct airports and land areas. I have a question, how do you about lowering water to reveal bridges without creating a river look or make the beaches to high. Also, removing stock windsocks and putting them back in the proper place. Thanks.

    • @SDFalchetti
      @SDFalchetti  Před 4 měsíci

      @@OutCastDB Stock objects like windsocks are pesky to get rid of, but an exclusion rectangle object should do it. You'll then need to place a new windsock manually. I recommend the Windy Things library, which has great windsocks and flags that follow the wind direction. I have used transparent polygons with terraforming to push or pull rivers up or down to hide/show terrain. If you adjust falloff, it will be smooth. If the bridge is just a ground texture underwater, then you're better off making a Blender model of it and adding it to your scenery.

    I can't wait until the global scenery repository is released for MSFS. IMO it is X-planes biggest asset. Thousands of detailed airports included in the stock sim, and all edited by the community!

    • @SDFalchetti

      Agree! The crowd-sourced airports of X-Plane were one of my favorite features, and It was always fun knowing that a field you made would be rolled into the next official patch.

    Fantastic video, I might give it a try. I think the reason you cannot save the XML file is that it is open in the editor, so you need to close it before the compiler can make changes to it.

    • @SDFalchetti
      @SDFalchetti  Před 4 měsíci

      Thanks! That one's a little harder to fix since it involves changing a runway (you'd have to exclude the current runway and lay down a new one and configure it). Have you tried the flightsim.to version of kvnc? flightsim.to/file/19166/venice-municipal-airport-kvnc

    1. can i reuse compiled static objects from community?
    2. must i always start in free flight mode?
    3. it is hard to choose the objects if there is no preview by default. thanks for showing how to do it.
    4. how do I define AI planes or AI vehicles to follow a route?
    5. If I wanted to build an airport in a new location, how do I copy an existing one and modify it from there?

    • @SDFalchetti
      @SDFalchetti  Před 3 měsíci

      Any custom objects from other airports in your community folder should be pickable and able to be placed in your airport. Keep in mind if you distribute the airport afterwards, other people will need to have the same airports in their community folders to see the objects. You can start on the ground when editing an airport, unless nothing exists at that location yet. I'm not sure how to define AI plane routes, although I have seen others have animated aircraft at their airports. I'm not sure of any easy way to duplicate an existing airport, other than manually copying the files and editing the assorted xml config files. Note you can't edit an already compiled airport. You'd need the original scenery files.

    • @SDFalchetti
      @SDFalchetti  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Yes, but it's a little complicated because you have to create a taxiway system that the AI can follow, and then link each taxiway to a parking spot. The editor has taxiway and runway objects that are functional.

    I'd just like to ask: 1. how to edit AFCADS for MSFS. eg: the default Asobo KOAK (Oakland airport). The AI aircraft such as FSLTL 737's cannot park at the gates due to a size/diameter limit imposed within the AFCAD. How to edit this to allow 737's to park there? question 2: how to edit Jetways in the same scenery so that they actually line up to the parking areas correctly. question 3: Can the underlying afcad lines that AI aircraft would follow be edited along with the actual taxi lines in the scenery so that they correspond?

    • @SDFalchetti
      @SDFalchetti  Před měsícem

      I don’t known of any way to edit default airport objects or taxiways other than to exclude them (with an exclusion rectangle) and place new ones down. Unfortunately for things like taxiways this would involve creating new taxi and runways from scratch.

    Can you add animals that are animated?
    Can you select an area they “rome” in?

    • @SDFalchetti
      @SDFalchetti  Před 4 měsíci

      If you change Object Type to SimObject, Asobo has a package asobo-simobjects-animals which allows you to place individual animated animals. If you change Object Type to WorldScript, Asobo has a package asobo-scenarii with scripts. Search for the type of animal, such as Flamingo and place the script as an object, and it will spawn a flock.
