      I haven't tried this myself, but you could look into ordering a laptop repair kit too. They come with similar tools for prying off computer cases. If you plan on possibly working on your computer it could be worth it, but just a suggestion since I noticed the prying tools are similar and the repair kits have multiple tools. :)

    The original has the advantage here. With minor modifications you canmake a standard Controller shell fit. You do need a second Controller to donate its structure though. The Pcbs are simple enough to swap around. Xou do need to keep the original back though.

I’d suggest taking the shell off then trying to power on the controller with no shell. If that works then you know it’s fine and you can then just put the shell on again taking some care with it.

  • @FuryousD
    @FuryousD Před rokem

    Yea when I was trying to take the faceplate off my controller to have a look inside and see the differences between my series S controller I broke it, the right grip broke clean off cracking around the buttons so I have to get it off entirely now so I can either replace it (which has proven extremely hard to find one with the same rubberised grips that I like about the series 2 elite controller, seriously i cant find a replacement anywhere that has them) or glue it back together.
    Good thing is now that I have predicted it off (seriously that adhesive at the top really didn't want to give, it was bending the tool that's how hard it was stuck on) I can glue it back together where I accidentally snapped the grip clean in 2 where the rubber grip meets the plastic and hopefully i won't have any more problems with it.

      @@TootXB yea i might have to go to EB Games where i bought the controller to sent it off to have a new faceplate put on it that is like the original. either that or buy a cheapish faceplate off amazon (around $50 -80) and replace the one i have.
      i could probably fix the one i have with glue but the rubber grips have stretched in certain places so i dont think that is the right solution, i might need a backplate too since when i 1st tried to take it off pieces of plastic broke off from the inside.
      u would think Microsoft would sell preplacement faceplates themselves but i haven't seen them when i was searching for a replacement.

      @@SCISZORZ_6sic6 I ended up using a big ass screwdriver after cutting the sides and it got the job done eventually.

      The first time you try it’s exceptionally tough. Once you’ve removed it for the first time then yeah, it’s like a loose butthole as you say.

      I haven’t done loads of giveaways on this channel but I did giveaway a faceplate and side grips 2-3 months ago. I like the eXtremeRate faceplates/shells, they are always really good.

    I want to replace the back to match my front with I the orange faceplate. There anything out there?

      Hi. I am not aware of anything. The rear is a bit more specialised and I have not seen any companies doing replacements. eXtremeRate who do the shells do not have anything for the rear.
