- I can't believe what I'm seeing. This is my Apple Vision Pro running SteamVR on PC already, just not even a week after release! Making it the highest-resolution headset on the market to date!
Also Meta released v62 for the Quest Platform and new games just arrived this week!
Let's discover together how to do it!
Let's get into it!

Would you consider it as the most High-End PCVR Headset you can get?
it's about!
Kind of. The lack of accessibility is a huge red flag atm. Apple consumers willing to do this will be in the minority.
Nope...
Don’t know until you can actually try it.
Only if you ignore all the other PCVR headsets like the Crystal or Varjo. They are also native and not using steam link. I know this is hard to believe, but there's an entire VR industry that existed before the Vision Pro. The Vision has a few gimmicks up its sleeve, but it's not a replacement for a real VR headset.
I have watched all of your more current reviews. Please keep it up. You’re through the lens comparisons are my litmus test as a vr race sim guy. Much ❤
Through the Lens Video Vs Quest 3 and other would be nice
I Need to have steamVR working for it :)
cant wait for the through the lens comparison!@@Tyrielwood
the way you said spatial computing at the end 😂
It's incredible how such an expensive device doesn't allow this at least by default, I'll stick with the Quest 3 100 times
The Vision Pro has such potential as a high-end headset but to not allow PC VR and VR hand controller and accessories to begin with is like Apple wanting to shoot themselves in the foot.
enjoy your children's toy. this is for people who make money.
Apple's whole selling point is their locked down ecosystem. It's not a good thing that they do this, but it is kinda to be expected. Imagine being apple and advertising that you can use their product with something that isn't one of their products and that they don't control. They unfortunately just don't do that thing.
@@hollyc5417🤓
This is Apple we're talking about. There will never be a firmware update to improve ALVR support. If anything, they will just improve latency with Mac connections.
I’m not surprised that Ubisoft is disappointed with the sales of assassins creed nexus. Big games like that don’t do well on quest because the majority of the consumers are kids who just want their weird free social apps. They should bring it to pc/psvr if they want to make a profit because it’s a great game
Somehow I don’t understand also how meta hasn’t figured out some simple things like:
- 3 screens but to be able to tilt and turn them and position them where u want?
- mirroring your phone so u get a virtual phone always? How is that so hard?
-personalize your workspace with virtual objects and have it saved like that.
Cmon meta you are awesome at VR these things should already be a thing!
great video and one thing you've missed was the quest 3 now can use hands over quest link or somthing like that... Before it would just show the menu icon for that quick menu if you tried to use hands before... Though i still don't have the update but it sounds awesome!
Friend, you have brought the best news about Apple Vision Pro
Is there any chance you could get the USB-C dongle for developers, and try using it in different ways? I'd like to know if it will allow you to connect Apple USB dongles. And potentially it could allow you to do wired PCVR.
Tons of companies have and still push vr like crazy. Than Apple shows up with over top expensive headset that basically only can be used to browse Facebook and watch movies and everyone is running around like it's the best thing since sliced bread 🤔
AHAHAHAH.. tell me about it...
I said that would happen in 2016
I get what you are saying, and it's badly priced with small FOV, but you have to give them props for pushing the VR field with excellent lens quality, contrast, resolution, colours and biggest of all the software.
Its about the vision os bro. Yes the hardware is good, but the software for AR.. they cracked it.
I know, this is so annoying
Now the Vision Pro is literally perfect this was the one thing I thought I would be missing 😂👌
Can’t wait to play flight simulator in there 🤩
Hi, can you tell me if the vision of a 4k flat movie it's better with Xreal glasses or Vision Pro?
the resolution of the xreal screens is 1920x1080, and the vision pro's are approx. 3660 x 3142. the vision pros are probably better
FOV is everything to me and I wouldn't go anything below Valve Index.
THIS. I have a Quest 3 right now, only as a cheaper headset until Pimax releases their 12k. I'm praying that they fix all the issues that came with other headsets and that this one ends up being a gem. 12k 200 degree fov is a dream
So you still using a Valve Index then ?
ill take a small fov over, glare, sde, low resolution, and a not that comfortable hot hmd
Almost everything today has better FOV than Index. You’re stuck in 2019 my dear. Don’t you dare say you’re fine with a brick wall of pixels
@@No_one_cares_about_Ukraine i love your name and people blow valve way too hard and much lol
About The only thing Worth while about vision pro is just how insanely high resolution the screens are. The Apple closed ecosystem is big negative
Looking forward to your take. At some stage I'd love to get a demo, but I have no idea when it'll appear in Oz and I have no interest in buying into Apple's walled garden.
thanks for the quick update on these things! im looking forward to ur full vision pro review. in the mean time, i was wondering have you heard of any rumors about Fortnite coming to VR? is that true?
Do you have a "through the lense" of the Vision pro?
How's the latency over wifi?
The most important metric that nobody covers. Couldn't care less about anything else unless this is low, like below 25-35 ms.
I basically only use my Quest 3 for DCS VR, so I don’t need room scale VR. If I could use the Vision Pro, that would be an absolute game changer.
So If AVP can get ported to Steam VR then I have no Doubt that Immersed's Visor will to , I am so looking forward to getting my founder edition :)
I'm keeping an eye on that one! I hope we are gonna be able to see it in person soon!
@@Tyrielwood Did you preorder a visor? I'm still on a fence on that one as wired it needs 40mbps thunderbolt 3 and my mobo only has 20mbps usb port at best
Do you know if in VRChat do they have full body (vive trackers) working?
Are you using the quest 3 as a "bridge" for the controllers? Tell us more!
I think many people waiting for you comparing lens quality between apple vision and meta 3 with your camera
Heavy, delicate optics (compared to the quest) and even more fragile panels. A warranty would be smart, but makes it even more spensive.
Works on PC but needs a mac to make it work, sheesh, waste of time
Maybe you could use some sort of teleprompter device to be able to put a camera (or even two!) in the right spot, but keep the ability of the vision pro to see your eyes.
is that a Tosca Pupper HD?
Can you do a step by step guide? The one on github isnt cutting it.
Have you thought about getting one of those mini "spy cam" on a wire device to record one of the lenses of the Apple Vision Pro? Can fit better in places where a phone camera may be cumbersome. Just an idea. Hope it helps.
vgv
I was thinking the same
I feel really silly now having never thought to drop my headset around my neck...
The developers expressed disappointment in the sales of AC:N but just noted a figure. As you pointed out this was directed to the Quest 3 platform only. I'd like a better measure like, what percentage of the Quest 3 user base bought the game? 10%, 50% 75%...? That would give us a better idea of how they did.
As a smaller market I thought some of the developers were jumping in to plant a flag and get the skills for this platform. I'd been surprised if they'd make a huge profit this early on.
Can you do this THROUGH THE LENSES Quest 3 vs Apple Vision Pro
he can’t
When are we going to get a VR racing rig update video and a studio tour video? 🥺👉👈
Hey Tyriel; as far as I know, you won't be able to compile it on a Hackintosh, since developing for visionOS requires a Mac equipped with Apple Silicon. I'm not completely sure about this, but it is what their documentation is saying. I *think* their only justification is that it's because it's arm64 on the Vision Pro.
Aren't they so lovely?
Imagine for a moment, that a system of ultra-thin monitors hanging from the ceiling of your room, and that go up or down very quickly, are added to your classic PC desktop, imagine that we take away your mouse and force you to use those screens by pinching the air. Now imagine I tell you that those screens can look like the Nintendo3DS screen - has your work computer suddenly gone from the past to the future, and if not, to what extent does society suffer from over-hype when it comes to adopting technology?
In my view, the whole space computer approach does not outweigh the VR approach we already had.
You can “side load” it with TestFlight
I tried the demo at the apple store and I was impressed with the headset. I thought it was just a ridiculously expensive toy but I see what they are trying to do now. I have a pc though so I'm holding out hope for the new version of the index.
here i was just posting to tease!! this can only be good for them XD
as for us?
i think version 2 of AVP will be so much better even with the community hacks this is already way better than week 1 .. AVP2 needs a usbc port!!! and app sideloading
apple should consider plastic to make it lighter and pleas partner with BOBOVR for a better head strap
i would love to see a usb c powerd AVP(air) with just the hi quality displays you could use as a single screen (XREAL Air)
is it just me or did no one do through the lens videos yet?
Quest 3 ❤
i got the v62 update on meta quest 2 , still meta browser is NOT DRM compatible - Damn it !
this would be perfect for simulators cuz if u turn of hands of in assetto then u can just see ur real life hands on the in game steering wheel
we need trough the lenses quest 3 vs apple vision )
ITS NOT COMPILING ITS BUILDING FROM SOURCE
The ONLY thing I really care about is to mirror the PC screen to play my regular Steam games from my laptop or the ROG Ally on the go.
Being able to play the VR games is just the cherry on top but I couldn't care less.
You can do it already with moonlight!
turned on my q pro on sunday for the first time in a couple weeks, it auto updated to v63 now dcs will not work 🤦♂️ always something
I could stretch the budget and get one, I did the demo at an Apple Store and it blew me away. It is leaps and bounds beyond anything else out there, but my primary use case is for DCS, MSFS, and driving sims. If someone can sort out a good solution for those PC apps then I will probably make the leap. I’m using the Crystal for now, but I am no fan of its form factor. I feel like we’re on the brink of getting all the things we want for PC VR… so close!
Thru the lenses....
Can’t someone compile an executable for us ?
😂 @apple I said I would probably get it if it played PCVR and I had access to all my games to include flight simulators. If it works with DCS World, stand aloan, then I’m absolutely getting it. Stupid Apple; now I’m getting excited and more broke : )
People just need to be patient. Wait for Quest 4 or Quest 5, and I bet at least one of those headsets will be competing directly with Apples Vision Pro. Not only that but more competition is coming, and Apple is going to release a cheaper VR headset. Just wait a year or two and you’ll have so many better options, that don’t have the current compromises that Quest 3 and Vision Pro have.
i mean this is what apple needs to do to begin with.
I always found games exclusivity for a platform bad. And that Ubisoft with AC Nexus went this route weirded me out. Don't know if opening to the PCVR market would have made them happy with the sales, but looking at the success of known saga like Half life Alyx, maybe it could have helped. I own a Meta 2 but probably will not buy AC Nexus unless it will come to PC. Don't like the idea to lose my library the day i'll switch platform.
It’s unlikely a hackintosh will work for VisionOS dev - it requires M series processors (so Arm), they didn’t create an x86 compiler for it.
Darn it
The quest 3 can do like 90 to 95% plus do alot more on the gaming side also and at 7 times less the price
meta fans are so funny when they believe ipthings like that (someone who owned the quest 1,2 and the 3)
@@nagyFerko I ain't a meta fan I own all kids of headsets but I know I can do all the stuff that thing can do on a quest without a cable hanging out the side of my head to my pocket. I can walk around in colour 3d pass threw have multiple apps and screens around the place have all Android apps use hand tracking and gestures make video calls play real vr games as I can also use controllers I can access my pc from anywhere while on the go to do work or anything I want like what am I missing out on here? Other then apples closed eco system which sucks anyway lol
@@chotus69video calls on quest? Tell me how. Also how many windows you can have open at the same time? 3 and they are all locked together, moved together, only working while you are in a certain range from it, else it’s just fade away badly, you can use apps like fluid, but then you are limited to only use browser windows, and it’s laggy when you use multiple windows at once (tried yesterday for curiosity) you can use android apps, but only if you download them from websites and that’s not really the safest solution, also a lot of android app didn’t work, or works really badly on the quest, for example discord is really badly scaling. But you can’t use iMessage (that’s what I’m using with my girlfriend and my best friend) you can’t make video calls where the person sees you and your expressions, android apps can’t even access any camera. You don’t have secure your headset other then a really bad patient unlock. The hand tracking is barely usable in the best scenarios, while often clicks into videos you just want to watch. I tried to use the quest like a full head mounted computer multiple times, it’s not really ready. You can play with it, watch 1080p videos or movies with it, even 3d movies but you have to pirate it because meta doesn’t give a shit about making streaming platforms going to the quest. You can use passtrough about an hour without external batteries. You can stream your pc to the quest with metas own solution as this is what you also payed when bought the headset, you can have 3 virtual monitors at 1080p around 30fps or buy a third party apps to have more screens but the resolution and the frame rate will be the same, or have only 1 screen at the time, still not worth going over 1080p because the headset can’t show you much more pixels in your field of view, but then you can have even 120hz. No HDR since the quest 3’s screen is just a basic cheap IPS LCD. If you’d like to use wireless headphones, you have to expect annoying latency, it isn’t as bad as it was with the quest 2 but still way too much to watch a movie or something. And I don’t even know how! android phones solved that problem a long time ago, but metas android phone strapped to a face can’t to it. Passtrough on the quest isn’t great but it’s okay, but it requires like 30 percent of the headsets computational power. Oh and another things for the any android app sideloading, if meta decide that the android app you are sideloading isn’t allowed, they will block you headset from all the meta online services like the store, a lot of online games, and idk what else can they block. And I didn’t even mentioned a lot of software issues with the quest, a lot of inconsistency, a lot of random things that makes it look like every meta quest function is developed by different groups without any communication. I am saying that as a long time quest user, had the first quest, and currently owning a 2 and a 3 to be able to play with my girlfriend also owned an htc vice and currently owning a valve index too. Once I got the quest 3, I tried using it as people are using the Vision Pro right now, but there are so many walls I faced every time I tried. You definitely can’t compare the quest 3 to a Vision Pro. And you shouldn’t because they are completely different devices for different people. You have more games and apps on the quest? Yes! The quest has more than 4 years advantage? Yes! I’ll guarantee you that 4 years from now, Vision Pro will have way more to offer then it has right now, just as the same happened to the quest.
You wanna know how you’re wrong?
Apples ecosystem doesn’t suck. It makes life easy. I can access stuff on my MacBook that’s on my phone. Transition from listening on AirPods from phone to laptop to Apple TV. Don’t have to enter WiFi password every single time across devices. Track devices and there’s plenty more.
For the headset, no it’s not the same as just comparing what they can both do.
Sure they both can play movies. But id never watch it on a low quality lcd screen that the quest has. Display quality is so important for vr. Otherwise you’d just feel like you’re watching a cartoon instead of 3d graphics. The 3d movie performance is again out of this world. The ui and gesture based controls is magic.
Sure it lacks content right now. But that can be made with time.
@@megaprimegamer1184 The Apple "eco system was good" back in the 80's and 90's. Back when big software was ONLY available on Apple products. However, now that major software programs like Photoshop, After Effects, Solidworks, and so many other 3D modeling and rendering programs, as well as productivity software is available on PCs and PCs can be upgraded so much, I lost all use for Macs. I haven't even worked for a company in the past 20 years who give their employees Macs. Every Company my wife, and I have both worked for since the 2000s have had employees use PC Laptops. The compatibility for all employees, and employees around the globe, is what people need. And while I've worked in a couple small companies, Both myself and my wife work with international companies.
Back in the 80's I was really pro apple. Because they were the only ones that had complex modeling software. and in the early 90's they were the only way a person could create animations, and composite those animations into existing videos. But then the limitations became evident.
I would love to purchase AC Nexus, but Ubisoft has not allowed me to buy it on my PC
Same. There's a market for it they just aren't tapping into.
say thanks to meta, its their fault
Something is different, you speak differently. I always found it “annoying” your “jumpy “ talk, and please don’t take it personal, it’s a matter of taste here, and you should always be yourself . A good improvement for me though! Anyway, you are one of my fav VR channel! 🤗
Is PCVR from a Mac still PCVR, or is it MacVR 🧐

UBIsoft and other AAA publishers needs to "port" games to VR. It's not as nearly expensive and easy profit. Then let the platform grow. But saying you aren't going to make games for it you are actively trying to kill it.
its not that expensive? did you worked on a vr game before?
Pretty funny, me griping about driving models of verhicles in ubi games and now ubi complaining about sales being a bit low on one title. 6M is probably still way more than i make in a lifetime... funny, how they are now " used to making more money than that." WEll, bummer dudes, but it's not like yer starving. It's all about perspectives.
I hope you're not serious about a hackintosh. I've had one before and they're a huge headache.
Nexus is one of the best AC games in the past years, Ubisoft is just delusional because it’s basically all their fault
"THAT'S WHY I HATE APPLE SHIT"😏✌️
Censorship will kill VR. Without porn, games and pirated movies VR WILL DIE.

Apple will close that door very quickly soon. Apple don't play nice with others.
Nearly $4,000 to use it on PC as a not true VR device... I would rather just get the PSVR-2 with it's OLED and use it on PC.
Sony did a good job with those panels not apple. Apple didn't make those panels lol
Everyone that wants to buy one now for PC should wait there will be headsets later this year with the same resolution for much cheaper.
nope still no vr. no controllers to play with no vr. try to play roborecall, ore something simular. the only case it would be vr is racing games with wheel. soooo it is a maybe vr headset that is extreamly limited to what vr games you can play. geuss thair was no more room in those 3500€ to consider a controller :-))))
ew but I don't want base station tracking my hand controllers. I want inside out tracking on hands.

Ubisoft's fault again . What they expect when they release it only for Meta !!! Wrost strategy ever . but still over 200,000 unit selled .
could u give me one for free
This product is stupid and expensive nothing new has happend and it doesnt do much is expensive as crap and everyone wont shut up about it .. why because its apple ? I think u miss the point, it is a new way to spatial computing, it probably will change the way to see visuals altogether

AVP fidelity is better but less FOV & heavier.
Save 3000 & wait a yr or 2 for the improved AVP v2 for less.

Once Apple comes out with visor/glasses form factor, THAT will be a winner.
@navinbhandari2001 Yeah sure. I demoed it yesterday. It was like a really nice overpriced View-Master. Amazing screen, great tracking, no killer apps, and it gave me a headache before my demo was over. I would be mortified if I had paid 3.5k for that.
