    Don't forget that you can go into your settings, go into advanced features and go to the lab section. You can force apps to run in landscape mode. And run in full screen. You just have to edit each individual app you want to force into full screen.

    I had to remove the Twitter app to get it to work. It also works on phones and was able to add a Wordle "app" to my phone home screen. Thank you for the tip and the reply to my previous comment

    For the instagram, try to uninstall the native app first. Then try again to run the web app afterwards. The only problem with web app or pwa in Android is, certain site are preventing us to load in Android browser. One good example is slack and whatsapp web. No matter what we do, it will treat the browser as incompatible. I try to use these trick with Fold 3 as well. Google should just follow Apple to release full desktop chrome for Android, and that will solve the lacking of tablet support issue in Android.

    Xbox cloud gaming works as a web app. The Android version is fine so it’s not a big deal, but it works on an iPad where Apple doesn’t allow an Xbox app. Pretty amazing that it works and works well.

    Shane, I need your help with Duo 2. Chrome on Duo 2 doesn't have an option to move tab to other screen anymore so you can have 2 browser tabs running at the same time like Duo 1. Is this an Android 11 issue or a Duo 2 issue and is there a way to fix it in the options or settings somewhere that I'm not seeing? Thank you for any help.

    For those who want to use web twitter: I recommend using Twitter in edge or Samsung internet. Chrome uses so much battery sending data back and forth when scrolling Twitter

      You dont have to use the pwa Google messages. The playstore Google messages give you more native features on tablets with a desktop interface

      The thing is samsung users want native samsung features.
      There is a reason google completely redesigned the app on samsung phones. To avoiding passing off samsung users.
      Google messages on samsung phones is basically samsung messages with chat features.
      Also Samsung wants to bring messages directly to their galaxy book laptops as an app. So the redesign may come to samsung,s laptops on Windows
      No need for the web, just go to the app on samsung laptops. Fingers crossed that they follow through and bring it.

    Hey the Goofle Messaages app in the playstore run a desktop app on the tab. You don't have to use the password. Would also go to say the messages app on the tablet has better functionality with copy and paste notifications

    On a Samsung tablet, you can go to Settings > Advanced Features > Labs. There are some options to force apps like Instagram to appear in landscape (I do this with Reddit). The experience is usually still pretty terrible but at least I don't have to rotate my S7 anymore.

    I didn't realize that's what the install app thing in Chrome did, I thought it was just installing the app that you would get in the play store on the device. How does it treat the web apps in terms of security? My one main reason for not installing most apps in general and using my browser is that the actual apps often have access to far more information than I want them to and often force location services while they are in use, if the web apps use the setting from Chrome including my settings of never allowing location then that would be great.

    • @SamGarfield1
      @SamGarfield1 Před 2 lety

      Web apps these days are pretty advanced and can tap into and use sensors on your device. You should still have to grant permission explicitly for anything sensitive, though. Location, camera, microphone, etc. As far as tracking you both websites and apps are doing a lot of that.

    Just a FYI: Installing a web page as an app works on Edge/Windows 10 & 11
    And you can use Your Phone for texting without having to switch to Google Message.

    • @scaryifliteral
      @scaryifliteral  Před 2 lety

      If you go into the permissions for the Twitter app there should be a setting called open by default. That probably needs to be changed. If I need to I can make a short video showing you.

    I used this for the Apple TV on my S6 and S7+ since there is not a native version of the Apple TV app on the Play Store. It opens just like a regular app. I used Samsung Internet to do it. Kind of a slap in the face to Apple for not creating a native app for Android users.
