Great videos man! Me and my wife spend 2-3 weeks in Guyana every year! We have been doing this for 20 years. I love the culture and the people. I really love the food and the freshness of the local produce. I have even learned how to prepare and cook certain curry dishes and veggies. my wife can also cook roti. But one thing I just can't eat is Baigan Choka! I can't get past the texture. But hey brother, watching your videos make me feel like I am in Guyana even though I am in America! You speak with a lot of encouragement to your people especially the men. Keep up the good work man. I spend most of my time in Corriverton, Skeldon. But if I come to Georgetown, hopefully I can look you up. God bless man!
My parents were born in Fiji Island's & came to the States in late 60's & early 70's. My mom use to make some awesome baigen choka & aloo choka with roti! I really enjoyed watching your video, it brought back great memories!
Budday,I look at your videos most in the morning at work n boi u make me hungry belly a tumble like empty barrel...u d man bro big up every time nuff respect ☕✌
Wow..So delicious for a Sunday morning. You taught me how to roast an eggplant on the stove. Thank you. The only thing is I cannot do the pepper. Enjoy your delicious food. Grest memories. Wishing I can have some of that delicious food right now.
Rickie still there?, I bought all my gold from him, he made all the gold for my grandson, who’s 16 years old now, man you can cook, you’re a good husband, I know your wife respects that. Nice knowing you, I always look at your cooking, what a wonderful family you have, would look for you n your family as soon as this virus is over, care yourself and family

Denny that my kind of food.when i was living in Better Hope even when i move to georgetown that's many many years ago. I can't tell your food is delicious from the ingredient you use. Thank for sharing your cooking, recipe, love and your family with the world. Nuff love
Hey Denny I enjoyed watching all of your videos.. Thanks for sharing especially the videos when you are on the road going places. Keep up the good work...
Hey, Danny I am from Windsor Forest where you get the Gilbaker from living in NYC Queens you are a wonderful husband a family man that awesome good job.
Really nice dishes .... guyanese style. Can't beat guyanese food and twang ; >) I do the same thing here in Canada but I use a cast iron pan ( just like the one you bought) and seasoned it for non-stick. Mostly we don't use the microwave anymore (bad for your health in the long or short run) I use an overhead oven. Non stick pans has a coating that contributes to cancer. Just a heads up.... for what happen to someone else does not mean it will happen to another. Cheers on a good video.
Baigan looks delicious n I am sure taste the same. One suggestion is use virgin coconut oil..i do plus you will be promoting local. Thanks for your recipes.
In addition i usually sauté the onion in some oil prior to adding to the eggplant.. and if you want to up the game add a few fennel seeds like you would in chonkay dhal ..
Really enjoy watching your videos, I love the Bhigan choka . In Trinidad we call the Bhagee. Poi. In New York my Guyanese friends call it Poi also. I will definitely check out the jewelry store.
Made that today, my husband love Guyanese bigan ckoka . How ever I wanted to say I love the video of the Saturday tasty Hassa, you got me to subscribe , I really enjoy watching your videos. I enjoyed watching you make the three different choka**My only issue was **it looked so good and I wanted you to lift your hands close to the camera with some of the food in it to offer a taste to your subscribers.. I never ate Sada roti only oil roti and puri**so after watching how it is done I will try my hand** lets see what happens** Thanks for the video.
Danny, its bhaji boy. Stop saying kalahloo, lol. Love it, great job, You are lucky to live in that country, you are so right. Live in Boston and miss Trinidad where I was born and my Indian family. Denny u are a great cook and a wonderful husband to wifey and a wonderful dad to your kids have a blessed day and stay safe. Oh Can u please give a shout out Birthday greetings to my SON SHAWN THOMAS FROM PARFAIT HARMONY ON THE WEST BANK 7/6/2021 his 40th Birthday. Thank u Denny 😎💓
Gm your dad’s roti didn’t raise bc of the pan. It raised on the pan bc u used self rising flour. I liked your dishes n techniques keep the recipes coming bruh Trini here ❤enjoy
Hello, enjoying all your videos, but as per this video you’re roasting bargan rapped with foil is not a good idea, foil has toxic chemicals in it 🙏🏽 please don’t used it again, just my advice 😁
You ain't kidding bro I went back to Guyana after 20 years and that's what I was craving. It's something to do with the roasty toasty flavor from the fireside I think. The charred bits of tomato and baigan packs a flavor punch and the crunch is magical when you saykay the roti over the fire., soft inside and crunchy outside. I usually do this on the grill but I add whole geera to the oil before mixing it up. Priceless stuff. 👍
Baigan choka is like a Indian dish .We add curd or milk cream in baigan and call it baigan rayta or bharta. You prepare it with curd or cream and taste it.
Shekhar Bhagat Guyana,Trinidad & Suriname has a large population of Indians. We were all taken from Bihar & Uttar Pradesh by the colonial masters in the 1800’s to work as indentured labourers on the sugar, cocoa & coffee plantations & almost 200 years later and we are still here preserving our heritage, culture & foods as Indo Caribbean’s.
Everything looks delicious as always. I do have a question, heating/using Olive oil in the dish, does it alter the taste versus using another oil eg: canola, or vegetable oil? Great video 👍🙏❤️🍽️
@@ITSOURLIFEARD Yes Olive oil is a healthy option, but not when it's paired with roti which isn't healthy, so it defeats the purpose, so boy just use regular oil it will taste better❤️🍽️
