    Thanks for another great review video! I'm the COO of body helix, and you are the first reviewer to get what we have been saying about the X3Pro...that it's a Pro paddle designed for players that are at least 4.5 or 5.0, who want massive power but have the skills to control the paddle. We do have plenty of players below that level that choose the X3 Pro, but most of them either hopped the fence from tennis and are used to a heavier stick or they just want power. The Pro paddles (X2 and X3) are hands down my favorite in our line for perfect drops and effortless resets. Thanks for including us in your review. We appreciate all you are doing to help pickleball grow.

      Thank you very much for your comment! We love the idea behind your paddles and I'm sure as higher level players try them, they'll understand just how special they are.

    Excellent review. Thanks Luca. I've been playing with the Ruby for about four months and it is the best paddle I've used by far. The spin it can generate is unmatched, even better than the Double Black Diamond, which is also great. Keep 'em comin'!

    Thank you for your time and posting. Not sure yet what paddle I want, spin is very important to me. Volair is in the race as well. :)

      I think the Ruby is a great option if you want top tier spin.

      Volair is best for spin. Body Helix has amazing technology in their X3 pro and lite paddles.

    I'm looking forward to the Thrive Azul, Kevlar, paddle.

    I got my Ruby ordered a few days ago when they did limited pre ordering. I’ve never played with it, but with such good reviews I thought it would be a safe next paddle for me

    Nice review, I'm in the market for one of these but I really wish you had also included the original Apes proline as it is somewhat different in feel.

      Thank you! I really need that paddle a longer playtest; perhaps something I could work on this week.

    Seeing that the ruby is a full Kevlar face, I would like to see the comparison between the Ruby against the J2K or the Thrive Azul

    A friend has been playing with the Ruby for 2 months and says the spin is much less than when new. He plays 3-4 times a week and is a 4.0 player

    Nice comparison!
    Are you using a regular carbon fiber style paddle eraser for your Kevlar paddles since they all use peel ply on the faces?

    • @RacketsandRunnersPickleball
      @RacketsandRunnersPickleball  Před 4 měsíci +1

      To be honest, we've been using them on the Kevlar paddles (I know we're not technically supposed to). I haven't felt any Kevlar come loose using the eraser.

    Please do a review on CRBN 1x 12mm I can’t find a review anywhere and don’t live next to a pickleball store. I’d like to know more about its stats

    Would appreciate reviews on other Kevlar paddles including the Apollo Spartus, Hurache and Mark. If you don’t sell them do you not review them? Thanks.

      Hurache we have and I'll review as soon as I recover from injury. Mark and Spartus we have been in talks with to bring them in.

    So far most paddle reviewers or pros have not switched to kevlar or kevlar/carbon combo paddles. The reviews have been their good. But obviously not better then the top end carbon fiber paddles.

    • @RacketsandRunnersPickleball
      @RacketsandRunnersPickleball  Před 4 měsíci

      Better is always a tough word to use because, I'll be honest, I think the Ruby is an overall "better" paddle than the DBD, but switching to something better also means switching to something different and once you're used to the playability of a paddle, it's very difficult to switch even if it is technically better.
      What I will say is that the improvements in playability we saw with the introduction of raw carbon a couple of years ago made for paddles that were so much better than the current stuff at the time and there were so few drawbacks that everybody switched. Thermoformed paddles also made for huge improvements but they did take away from control which is why a lot of pros didn't switch. Kevlar is more of a subtle improvement which is why I don't think we'll see a mass migration like we did with raw carbon.

    Sooo I bought a pickleball apes energy s after watching a lot of your vids. It seems that you are rating the ruby better than the energy s. Do you think the ruby is jumping to one of your top S tier paddles?

    • @RacketsandRunnersPickleball
      @RacketsandRunnersPickleball  Před 4 měsíci

      Personally, I prefer the Ruby because it's a little less muted, and it's an easy s-tier paddle, but that doesn't mean it will fit your game better than the Energy S. Keep in mind the Ruby is a little shorter and you may actually prefer the feel of the Energy S if you're used to it.

    unfortunately you are hampered by what you stock. so many other kevlar faced paddles that we nerds would love you to put under your excellent microscope. so the takeaway is- carry more paddles. keep up the good work

      There are two types of kevlar paddles, some just use it in the core.
