This one is something special as I really really love Skyrim!!! That said I hope you enjoy this cover by Voiceplay You know what to do, hit that like, comment and sub if you want more!
Geoff comes in STRONG with this one. Singing in the Dragon language complete with the special effect on the Dragon shout FUS RO DAH!! Geoff said he went a little overboard with the costumes. Cesar is wearing 20 lbs of real chainmail and he had to lie down on the floor between takes to rest because of the weight. They are at Patty Cakes Productions using the set of The Villans Lair.
If you haven't recorded your reaction to Halo yet, PLEASE watch the outro and include it in your reaction. It explains why they did the Halo theme, and it shows the character of the group. They are genuinely nice guys and you will see that. Also, in the comments on that one, HALO and Martin O'Donnell, the composer both left comments. "Legendary" from HALO, and "I LOVE THIS! Thanks for doing this guys." O'Donnell also did a joint reaction to it with The Charismatic Voice. That being said, I am an old woman and NOT a gamer. It didn't matter, Dragonborn Comes is an epic piece done brilliantly by Voiceplay! It was fun watching reactors fall apart over it as well as HALO. Really enjoying your reactions!!
All of them are such amazing singers! A lot of people are so amazed by Geoff's bass that it usually takes a couple of reactions for most reactors to begin to recognize what a phenomenal singer Eli is or how phenomenal Layne's beatboxing is and to hear Cesar's fantastic range. Enjoy your journey!
Great reaction. I knew nothing about the game when this was released. I've learned quite a bit from reactors and commenters since - but to me, what carries it is the incredible arrangements and pure musicality of it, and the integrity of the performance. Like any story or movie, you walk in and sit down and see what unfolds. I didn't need to know the story to see that it all hangs together theatrically.... I'm sure it's special for gamers and offers a lot that's special. Yet it's incredible regardless.
It will come as no surprise that some if not all of these guys are serious gamers, and have been for a long while. When you see Halo, don’t miss the outro-Scott Porter will tell you some stuff about the group’s history and love of games as well as memorializing a fallen comrade. Looking forward-this was a great reaction!
I absolutely love your reaction. You made me smile all the way through. I've watched every Voiceplay and Geoff Castelucci video since I fell down the rabbit hole in early April. They have such fantastic videos. Geoff and Layne take turns to arrange, produce, edit, direct, etc every video. The only things they don't do is makeup and audio mixing. Geoff and Layne founded Voiceplay in 1997 under the name 4:2Five. Changed it to Voiceplay in 2010. They are known as both "The Theater Kids" of acapella and "The Kings of Halloween". All of them have performed in shows at Disney World or Universal Studios in Orlando Florida where they live. They all love to sing and perform for everyone. Their most recent videos are " Hide and Seek (Ding Dong)" for Halloween and "The Chipmunks Song (Christmas Don't Be Late)" for Christmas. Geoff has his own channel he does solo videos on. But he uses instruments. His latest are "I'm Dreaming of A White Christmas" for Christmas and "Till Then" several days ago. I'd also suggest checking out Pattycake Productions. It is owned by Layne and former member Tony Wakim. They have slot of very cool Disney themed videos. But are parodies. The Villains Haunted Mansion, Bump In The Night and The Villains Lair series are my favorites. The series is at Season 2 episode 4 That's All. All their videos are original to them. I'm in Voiceplay, Geoff and Pattycake Productions patreons. I love it. Also. I have a variety of videos on my playlist you're more than welcome to check out. All are original to the artists. All are public except one right now. As soon as Voiceplay releases it from patreon to CZcams ill change it to public as well. Watch, react, share. Happy New Year🎉
Loved your reaction, you could tell you from your stunned silence you love Skyrim ;) for harmonies and runs i suggest Tennessee whiskey and on Geoff's solo channel Blackbird.
One of my favourties. From what I understand an Imperial barbarian, a Dunmer battlemage, a Bosmer archer, a Breton necromancer, and a Nord Jarl hang out in the Palace of Kings ready to belt out a classic. Geoff is an Imperial Barbarian, Cesar a Dunmer (dark elf) Battlemage, Omar a Bosmer (wood elf) Archer, Eli a Breton Necromancer, and Layne a Nord Jarl.Dovahzul ("Dragon-Voice"), the Dragon Language or Dragonish. I don't know the game, not a player, but I've picked up a few things from other comments. Your expression watching this is what we love to see. :)
Voiceplay does not do a cover unless they can bring something to the table that is both tribute to the original and something completely new and unexpected.
I loved your reaction!! I am not a gamer and had never heard this, but it is both haunting and forceful. Afterwards I went out and downloaded the original as well. They have done several other game covers. They’ve also done the following that I’m aware of: We’re Alive from the game Portal, Warriors (originally covered by Imagine Dragons) for League of Legends, a Minecraft mini which is only about a minute long, My Mother Told Me which was used in the game Assassin‘s Creed as well as the television program the Vikings. And of course HALO. In HALO, Scott Porter (who was the original beatboxer) and Layne Stein (who is the current beatboxer) have a little mini duel with red team / blue team and Layne slaps a blue grenade(?) on Scott. A long, long time ago they did one of their ACA Top 10’s where they do snippets of 10 songs and they did video game themes.
there's this one, and then they also covered Misty Mountains, and Hoist the Colours! (oogie boogie song is my #1 fav tho' lol) now you just gotta also check out Home Free! lmao Man of Constant Sorrow (from the movie!) and Champagne Taste (an original, funny and relatable as all get-out).
Thank you so much for another great reaction to Voice Play. Please do a reaction video of Voice Plays cover Dream On. It was originally by Aerosmith but Voice Play does it better.
If you're going to delve into Home Free as some here have suggested, please check out their video for Brother. They're withe a group of LARPers in a Nashville park in 98+ degree weather. Oof! I think you'll be able to identify the D&D Dungeon Master and the Star Wars fan by costume alone. But not many recognize Hiccup riding Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon. Wonderful and moving song, funny as hell video.

That's crazy! I had no idea!

I'm trying to get him to react to halo! It was at the top of my recommendation list haha

Absolutely love your reaction to them singing the main theme. It's fantastic!
Everyone told you that you would love this. I think you would love their Halo theme also.
It's next on my list!!! Thank you so much!

Really loved your reaction to this one! This is a favorite for me as well. I agree with Cesar when he said, "I just love a daddy Geoff entrance!" 😂
Such a great reaction! I love seeing those chills from a gamer nerd! They show how well the band did haha

I waited a long time for such a reaction.
Subscribed!! Can't wait to watch your dive into VoicePlay!!
Thank you.
So glad you liked it.
I love your reaction as a player of Skyrim. ❤

Pretty sure it's Imperial, Dunmer, Bosmer, Breton, and Nord.
