- Here's a fact: Not only Rise of the Robots was released in consoles at that time such as SNES, 3DO, and Mega Drive, it even got an *ARCADE VERSION*, though it only reached prototype state and was never released to the public. But someone managed to dump it for emulation. The best part? You can play as *EVERY CHARACTER* in the game, but for the worst part? AI is still crap and cheap.
- Anyone else remember that old promo for this game? Basically, the promo claimed crazy stuff like: It will revolutionize the fighting genre, the moves were mo-capped by a martial artist, backgrounds were designed by an architect, and most of the AI was "unique and state of the art" that it can read your moves and learn from its "mistakes". Yeah, it was all load of crap.

As yet another laugh at the Phillips CDI, Rise of the Robots got onto there as well iirc (I coulda been thinking of another disc console of the time). At least apparently there was more soundtrack and music subsections, but yeah, like anything on the Phillips the gameplay parts were worse than other ports.

Solid first episode, man. Love it! It's good to see you do a show in this style. Definitely make more of these when you can, there's a whole heap of crappy fighting games out there that need to be covered. You're on to a winner here.
Just a bit of a personal suggestion, direction wise - I think it might be cool to include a bit more background on each game before you start playing it, like information on who developed it, what the history of that development was like and what the story for the game is (if there is one). It'll help give viewers a bit more context to the title you'll be reviewing, especially if they've never heard of the game before. It doesn't need to be an information overload, just one or two minutes covering these details would be enough to bring everybody up to speed.
Aside from that, yeah. This is great! Looking forward to seeing more of this!
If i don't see Battle Arena Toshinden eventually make an appearance on this show then i'll be very surprised! XD

I think this is not a boss rage, i think this was great. He even told u a story bro, that how is this game that crappy and he has so much hatred.
Why not combine the two? Realistically, completing the actual game (Boss Rage) would do well as a segment of the video in addition to an actual fleshed out review of the game. AVGN does a similar model, except his videos seldom actually see him COMPLETE the game.
Because he already does boss rages.

I never heard of it before. But the game Dead or Alive came to my mind. But I google the title and it doesn't look nothing what I imagined. THAT game look horrible.
As a Jaguar owner with no other systems, I actually liked Kasumi Ninja as it was the only modern fighting game I could play at home lol. As a Scot, playing 'Angus' in the game was slightly cool thing as horrifically stereotype a character as he was.

The only thing I would add to this series is a bit more history behind which game you are playing, you know sprinkle some facts about the game throughout the video.

I know Yo Videogames played the SNES version of Primal Rage. The general consensus is that it was a ok port of an awesome game, so I don't think you're in the minority on liking it.
Also, I remember when the game came out and was in arcades. It was pretty damn popular. The home console ports were hyped to the moon.

Its about time someone else went for this. I miss team best from now, and most of the channels that do it these days don't really get as in depth. I tried to do something like this with my brother and we both ended up addicted to fighters history dynamite for like a month and It fell apart after that.

SNES Tournament Fighters was actually pretty good
Hyeah it was pretty good albeit some broken gameplay mechanics. Ability to throw someone during their block stun and inabikity to tech throws. Would have loved to be able to use ultimate attacks at the same time as the other player. Two Leo's would be cool.
Sonic The Fighters isn't BAD, per se, it's just super basic and elementary. It's like if Virtua Fighter Kids got a simplified sequel.

I don't really care if Max is also attempting on an AVGN/Jontron style of review. I really enjoyed the review with the clever and unique editing, hype music and that amazing ability to shoot Benny's reactions on point as the script dictates. If people just take out their comparison goggles, Max did a fantastic job in this review, I wish it could have been longer than 12 minutes though. I don't get the logic of comparing him to AVGN and Jontron, while he clearly gave the video his own flavor. They review just bad games, Max reviews bad FIGHTING games, and is actually an experienced fighting game fan.
Probably the only criticisms I have is besides the video length, I wished Max also provided insights about the technical aspects of the game as a fighting game, from a fighting gamer's perspective. The video kinda felt more like a Boss Rage (not that I don't like it) than a review. Given that you Max knows the lingo of fighting games, I think it would be better to dish those out, coupled with a few in jokes here and there. But given it's the first, much of it can be improved overtime.
You might not be able to read this Max, but I am looking forward to the next episode on the series. The SNES alone has a lot of craptastic fighting games, and you're the only guy so far that I've seen reviewing fighting games, and actually knows what he's talking about, presenting it in a very entertaining way.
Don't let anyone give you the downer just because they're comparing you to others, which honestly is senseless. You do your own thing, and you just do it your best constantly.
