- In this video. ustaad Mubarak ali khan and ustaad fateh ali khan performing very famous kalam. this qawali event held in 1954. after that so many artist sang this lyrics. this qawali event recorded my us and not any one have right of this video, because that time there is no concept of music company in pakistan. These video are not copyrighted becuse is originally recorded by MW studio.

2. girah with Kausar pe mujhe saaqi e kausar ne jo dekha...toh mein ne dekha "aankhein raseeli laaj bhari re" ... such magic in it

Nami danam ke aakhir choon is actually written by Usman Marwandi as far as I know, not Usman Harooni. Please correct if wrong

there's a separate version of the Khusravi kalaam's maqta which reads
"Mara az aatish e Ishq e tou ki daaman sokht ai Khusrau
Muhammad shamma e mehfil bood shab jae ki man boodam"
Not sure why they skipped that in this version

Nami danam k akhir chun dam e deedar mi raqsam
Magar nazam baeen zoqey k peshey yaar mi raqsam
(I do not know why at last to have a longing look, I dance
But I feel proud of the fondness that before the Friend, I
dance)
Biya jana tamasha kun key dar ambohey ja bazan
Basad saman e ruswaee sarey bazar mi raqsam
(You strike the musical instrument and see, everytime I
dance!
In whatever way you cause me to dance, o Friend, I dance)
Khusha rindi key pama lash kunam sad parsaee raa
Zahey taqwa key maan ba jubba o dastar mi raqsam
(Come o Beloved! See the spectacle that in the crowd
of the intrepid and daring,
With a hundred ignominies in the heart of the market, I
dance!)
Tuwan qatil k az behrey tamashan khun e man rezee
Manan bismil key zerey khanjar ey khun khar mi raqsam
(Blessed is recklessness that I trample underfoot
the very many acts of virtue.
Hail to piety, that with the robe and the turban I dance.)
Manam Usman e Harooni wa yar e shaikh e mansooram
Malamat mee kunad khalqey waman bardar mi raqsam
(I am Uthman-e-Haruni and a friend of shaykh Mansur,
They revile and rebuke and on the gallows I dance.)
English Translation.
I wonder what was the place where I was last night,
All around me were half-slaughtered victims of love,
tossing about in agony.
There was a nymph-like beloved with cypress-like form
and tulip-like face,
Ruthlessly playing havoc with the hearts of the lovers.
God himself was the master of ceremonies in that heavenly court,
oh Khusrau, where (the face of) the Prophet too was shedding light
like a candle.

Conceived by Ab'ul Hasan Yamīn ud-Dīn Khusrau (1253-1325), better known as Amīr Khusrau Dehlvi, was a Sufi musician, poet and scholar. Khursau the mystic, disciple of Nizamuddin Auliya of Delhi, inventor of the musical instruments sitar and tabla, sponsor of the first qawwali, originator of the khayal and tarana styles of Indian classical music - is an iconic figure in the cultural history of India.
Khusrau was born in Etah, Uttar Pradesh, India. His father Saif-ud-Dīn Mahmūd was a Turkic officer and a member of the Kara-Khitai Lachin tribe of Transoxiana. At the invasion of Genghis Khan, Saif-ud-Din migrated from his hometown Kesh, near Samarkand, to Balkh, and thence to the court of the Delhi Sultanate of Iltutmish. Khusrau's mother was of a recently-converted-to-Islam Rajput tribe. The metaphor of this 'mixed' parentage - Trans-Oxian and Cis-Indus - is also found in Khusrau's synthesis of Persian imagery and Hindvi music.

This is a rare performance. this is the pinnacle of Qawwali and Music and Mysticism and a treat for music and literature and "Love" lovers. i am a great fan of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan but even Nusrat could not reach to these heights. He created his own Musical Standards that are far beyond an ordinary musician/singer. But This masterpiece is a Cheez in itself. You just start listening to it and you can not stop listening to it. It has the Zarab of Qawwali and Chaashni of Music and such natural phrasing and linkage of poetry. It is surely a Benchmark of Music par excellence.

The first two rubaiyat are of Sarmad (the second last verse of the second rubayi is often distorted with a different text), here Ustad sang the originals, they are:
سرمد غم عشق بوالهوس را ندهند
سوز دلِ پروانه مگس را ندهند
عمری باید که یار آید به کنار
این دولتِ سرمد همه کس را ندهند
Sarmad! The pain of love is not given to the lustful; the passion of a moth is not given to the housefly; it takes a lifetime to unite with the beloved; this divine bliss is not given to everyone.
سرمد در دین عجب شکستی کردی
ایمان به فدای چشم مستی کردی
عمری که به آیات و احادیث گذشت
رفتی و نثار بت پرستی کردی
Sarmad! In religion you have caused strange disruption; sacrificed your faith to an intoxicating glance; a life of verses and hadith; (everything that you had) you surrendered to an idol worshipper.

Brahmjot Virk this is essentially a very thorough interpretation of a ghazal by Khusro. In the interpretation, the Ustads use other verses from Khusro as well as many verses from Sarmad, Ghalib, Bulleh Shah, Moin uddin Chishti, and many others. This is as true to qawalli's spirit as one can get. Work of art.
