Wade is as toxic as the rest of the community. He just hides it behind his patronizing, moral grandstanding. So he takes good points and turns them in to vitriol, to attack his enemies, or anyone who has any level of opinion that differs from him. Or even just to further promote himself. Everything Wade says has high levels of Agenda. That's why the only negative things he has said against Jake since his work with MVP, has been that they should PROBABLY have allowed promotion for the misfits event in his last fight, but not Prime. He recently ragged on Logan for inquiring why Jakes team banned any mention of Prime. However, can't see how it could be a problem with his relationship with the Update drink whilst working on Prime sponsored events. Which was not even at the level of banning Update, they literally mentioned once, that he was affiliated with a rival drinks company. Old Wade come out fighting back asking what it has to do with anything. I guess it only matters, when it's not lining his own pockets, am I right?
Mams is a cunt of the highest order. However, at least he is quite open and forward with it. Wade is exactly the same, riddled with agendas and biases, but he tries hiding it behind the moral grandstanding. Wade is a hypocrite of the highest order, who gaslights people on twitter, picking the weakest arguments and publicly roasting and then humiliating them. So that he can feel good and show his army, that he is right because the "opponents" don't have a strong argument. He ignores anyone who raises a good point. People are allowed to not take fights, all this stuff could've been done behind closed doors and it would've helped slims public image and avoid making him not wanna come back, because if they keep doing that the fighters will move to a different promotion which will hurt misfits as the fighters will be more spread thin and their isn't a ton of them already anyways
The problem with this situation is when slim is out here talking a lot of smack to other fighters(which is fine as it is part of the fight game) and saying I want 165 . But when u get offered a big fight with a big name and you turn it down on the biggest card . Honestly I dont think its money . I think the money isnt the issue its the opponent.. I have to agree with Misfits if you look at slim’s behaviour since misfits 004 you can clearly see the guy doesn’t want the Papi fight. After Misfits 004 when Slim knew people were gonna call for the Papi fight he conveniently drops the belt and goes down to an easier division at 165 where his biggest challenge would be Jay Swingler(before he retired). He knew how stacked 170-175 was so he opted to go back down for easier fights. Misfits then accommodate him by making Papi drain himself and go down to 165 and now his excuse is his purse.
Idk dude, I kinda see where you're coming from because it kinda does feel like Slim calls people out but doesn't always back it up, but I think the main reason why Slim dropped to 165 is because his natural weight is around 165. in the 170-175 pound division he was fighting against guys who were naturally way bigger than him after rehydration.

Idk man I'm kind of with Misfits on this one. Slim made so many demands for the Papi fight, then just kept demanding more. It's practically a mirror image of Fury v Usyk. Slim wanted Papi to come down to a weight he didn't think he could make, and when Papi agreed he started demanding pay he knew Misfits couldn't give him. I think it's pretty damn obvious what he's doing, he's trying to avoid this fight without outright saying it.

I personally like the transparency from misfits. It shows that they're actually trying their best to give us the fights we want. If the fans are the most important stakeholder, then it's only fair that fans are in the know. These aren't pro fighters and this isn't a serious sport after all. All the ducking, pull outs and egos are a much bigger threat to the scene than fighters being worried that they may be exposed by misfits for being slimey in negotiations. Where else will they go? kingpyn? global titans? wett promotions?

Misfits wants to make big fights happen for a very generous amount of money but not for a ridiculous amount of money. I forgot to mention, the purpose is of misfits was to build fighters and give the fans the fight they wanna see. Slim was granted an opportunity and before was begging to Jake Paul and other promotions to be put on their card for no money, he just wanted a chance to be great , or so he said. BUT, I also do agree with them.
The misfits council made this fight a mandatory. There was no debate to be had about opponent because of that. Slim said hed do it at 165. Salt agreed to cut the weight. And theres one thing which you didnt really talk about that could be detremental to Slims whole argument, and that's KSI saying "Slims gone missing." To me, that sounds like Slims team went silent. I mean, unless JJ is just saying shit with no sibstance, i'm not sure what else it could mean. If Slim went dark until after the deadline, its kinda hard to explain why he woukd do that. You could be right and this could all be about money, but the way you negotiate your pay is by negotiating, not going dark.

Yeah I don't really agree with Wade's take on how they devalued Slim. If they treated this as professionally as possible and only ever said "Slim has turned down the fight due to the money" then the fans would've had the EXACT same reaction and Slim still would've been devalued just as hard.
It's shouldn't have to be Misfits' responsibility to save the reputation of someone who doesn't want to take big fights and overvalues themselves, honestly it's refreshing that the promotion is more open about their frustrations so that we get a clearer picture as to what's going on behind the scenes and why certain fights can/can't happen.

I do believe that Misfits is incredibly unprofessional. I mean hell, the way how Mams has carried himself in Misfits since the beginning was very childish; firing Wade on the spot, challenging Joe Weller to a parking lot brawl, etc. They need to be more professional when it comes to negotiations instead of waffling on Twitter.
But on the other hand, I do appreciate the fact that they are pressuring Slim and questioning his credibility as a fighter, a dude who believes that he's one of the best Boxers despite fighting journeymen and nobodies his entire career (with the only exception being Temperr). If the small council wasn't so vocal about the situation, then the vast majority of people would agree that Slim is not as good as what he paints himself to be.

Slim would've never sniffed 150-200k opportunities without this scene, he's being way too greedy and it won't work out well for him. Especially in this scene he should just take it, losing doesn't really matter as much as it does in pro boxing as long as you have a good performance.
Just wanted to add that under common law (UK, US etc…) employees are treated differently to independent contractors. It goes way beyond just offering health insurance lol. It does make a difference in negotiations and what the public perceive to be “fair treatment” in employer-employee relationships and independent contractors. I studied this last semester in uni lol

My opinion is they’ve probably given out 70-80% of the budget on the 4 fighters in the main event and co-main. They’re trying to get the best fights on the undercard but the budget is drying out. And because they had people like Slim accept negotiations in past fights on Misfits quite easily, they thought they could take the piss giving him rubbish pay. Slim has every right to decline the offer. And don’t want this to come across as sexist and I mean it not in that way at all, but this is why the undercard is apparently full of women fights. Yes it’s good to get more women on the card to show their potential. But they’re more vulnerable to accept rubbish purse compared to men fighters, because the women will get offered less and they’ll accept it. Meaning misfits budget will be met in the end.

Wish that the council could just be less vocal in the public eye about negotiations and etc because not only it is bringing attention but potentially ruining the fighter's credibility when we don't know the full picture yet. Yes they can try to set up matches, but when one fighter isn't agreeing to negotiate with the fight, you move ahead and go with scouting out the next potential opponent. Giving light on these negotiations seriously damage the fighter's image for the future.

I think ppl have to remember that just like in real boxing the fighters are the most important ppl, not the promotion. Ik this is influencer boxing but the rules still apply that the fighters are the ones getting hurt and stepping in the ring. If the promotion can’t reach a deal with a fighter for whatever reason the promotion should respect that reason and move on and find a replacement. If someone doesn’t wanna fight in traditional boxing you don’t see Eddie Hearn or Frank warren slag them off they respect their decision and do their best to move on however disappointing it may be. Misfits are nothing with out the fighters but the fighters can fight anywhere on whatever promotion they want. Misfits should be mindful of that
