- Today on DIY solar power with Pappa we added a second 12 kW Growatt low frequency off grid inverter to our solar system so we can now run our 12.7 ton pool heater heat pump on 12 kW Growatt and run our 3 1/2 ton and 4 ton whole house heat pump ACs on the other 12 kW Growatt. Will will be adding a 2nd EG4 3000 watt inverter to the wall to get split phase 120/240 volts to run 230 volt heat pump ac in garage and run pool pump 24 hours a day. We also added some solar arrays and improved our pergolas with a slight angle on roof pitch so solar panels will drain better when it rains. Very smart move installing low frequency, transformer based inverters for your heavy loads instead of one of cheap, high frequency, transformerless inverters that everyone seems to be pushing nowadays.
These low frequency inverters pay themselves off within 2-3 years in saving on ac cost. Really happy with quality of Growatt inverters.
What's the idle power consumption on the 12k growatt?
