BECOMING GOD IN FALLOUT: NEW VEGAS

- Fallout New Vegas is often regarded to be by far the best game in the legendary Fallout RPG series. It has a fantastically large and still active following from release in 2010 up till the current day. Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 whilst being newer entries into the series in many regards do not hold up to this perfectly balanced game. So today join The Spiffing Brit on his wild adventure into Fallout New Vegas in a quest to see if it is A perfectly balanced game with no exploits or if the overpowered God Gun might show off a few glitches and exploits that perhaps the developers did not expect in their 100% fully balanced game. The developers have since gone on to create the perfectly balanced The Outer Worlds which we found infinite money exploits in. Still as with all open world RPGs the bethesda influence is present and even with a polished release like starfield sometimes you yearn for the wild broken experience of fallout new vegas. So ahead of the inevitable release of fallout 5 lets break a classic game thats over 13 years old and has so many video essays written about it!
What you have seen here today is part of a fantastic perfectly balanced gameplay series on youtube where I go from game to game and break them with wacky exploits to gain things like unlimited gold and infinite money all in a fantastic montage. If you enjoyed this then be sure to check out more. The style is similar to RT game and callmekevin in parts. A large influence on this series has come from Valefisk and The Killian Experience.

title: Fallout New Vegas IS A PERFECTLY BALANCED GAME WITH NO EXPLOITS - BECOMING GOD!
#game #glitch #fallout - Hry
*Slaps roof of gun* "This Bad boy costs $47,000,000 per second it is fired"
Edit: As some of you non brits watching can't tell; I do actually love Hbomber guy, I am making a joke about video essays

Better start drinking nuka-cola as fast as you can spiff old boy. No more tea, just cola.
maybe there is nuka cola flavor tea
New Vegas had gambling so deep in its coding it even gambled on whether or not your save would corrupt.
Now from where you're sitting this might seem like an 18 karat run of bad luck but the truth is, the game was rigged from the start.
give it up
Not enough
Fun fact my original ps3 was killed by new vegas save bloat creating a save file so large that when it corrupted it killed the console
Or will you crash
You can let a different developer make a modern Fallout title, but you can never escape Todd Howard.
He has uploaded his consciousness into the Creation Engine, which is why they keep using that janky pile of garbage. They used it for Starefield, they're using it for The Elder Scrolls 6: We Painted Ourselves into a Corner in Oblivion, and they're going to use it in Fallout 5.
@@desertdude540 And I'm sure each new game adds more band-aid solutions to the pile of spaghetti code...
Is anyone going to tell him Todd didnt really do anything wrt New Vegas....
@King_Coop It was still published by Bethesda and used the Creation engine from Bethesda. We all understand that Todd didn't direct the game.
That's where your wrong ever day at the end of the day obsidian sent their code to Todd and he personally went over it and added any missing bugs and removed any features
4 minutes in and Spiff has conveniently neglected to mention that this is not in fact a todd howard game on 3 separate occasions, this wonderfully balanced game is brought to us by OBSIDIAN!
Thank you! That was bothering the hell outta me!
Its not a Todd Howard game but he had to have given some input even indirectly I mean c'mon new Vegas is still using most of the fallout 3 assets lol
ngl FONV felt like a bethesda game with obisidian writing for me
Still uses the Bethesda's game engine too.
Fallout: NV was basically a total conversion mod for Fallout 3.
And a rushed one at that.
Back when role playing games at least tried to implement a reputation system to make a play through feel like a ROLE being PLAYED. Beautifully done Spiffington
Fr New Vegas has so much of the things that made fallout legitimately good
FONV made me feel like i matter in the game
Back when they were about trying to play an an epic hero of gallantry and goodness, as someone unlike oneself, rather than about expressing your identities and being exactly like yourself, but in a consequenceless land where everything is allowed and nothing matters.
What’s crazy is they made that game in a year or whatever sh1t was rushed imagine if it was flushed 👀
@@Javierisnotatryhard I think about that a lot, I found out this lore a few years ago and it still bugs me.
Barton Thorn and his "emergency" is one of my fondest funny moments in New Vegas. He asked me, a heavily armored and armed man, for help. Then I went and killed the geckos easily and he shot me in the back and did 5 damage, while gloating loudly about how smart he was. Good times
There's a cut note that was going to be in his inventory that implies his girlfriend left him for being "too dumb to live."
There's a youtube cartoon series about Fallout 4, in one episode there was a similar thing. The player is in power armor wielding some serious weaponry, and a female bandit tries to lure him into an ambush. And he says are you SURE you wanna do that with ME?
@@cjnf11 I played through the entire game and never once used VATS to shoot an enemy in the crotch 8 times. I missed out on the full experience.
I did not go near him somehow until after lonesome road and I was level 50 so I did his quest and a explosive 50 cal and bloody mess makes one hell of a meat explosion
@@cjnf11 Walking up to Wolfgang outside Drumlin Diner, getting him and his bodyguard to stand down, then robbing them, and making them flee. Which makes Trudy gloat.

I’ll never forget opening up this game at Christmas when I was 14 still one of the best games of all time in my opinion
Agreed, I liked it and Skyrim with the DLCs .
100%
same!
it was the scariest and funnest of fallout games to me. story & side-stories were completely unhinged, plus the anxiety of being so much more ALONE, maybe because you could see so much "further" in NV. Coming over the top of a hill and seeing absolutely nothing for "miles" was such a desolate feeling. still gives me anxiety to think about lol. such a good game.
There’s actually a newly found exploit where if you time your Pipboy button as your leaving the beginning area when you get the pop up message asking if you want to change your character. You select yes and take the skilled trait as many times as you want and you can get all your skills to 100 at level 1 in a fraction of the time it takes to do the speech exploit.
Lmao I'm glad that is still a new thing be for some people. Chad leveling in New Vegas is actually boosting all your special stats before leveling to maximize your stats. 😝
@@infernaldaedraWhich you could do with 8000 speech checks or take the robotics expert perk after maxing your skills and just disable the X-42 robo-scorpion until your level maxes out.. no skill checks required.
Except you don't get double perks :/
Having 100 in all skills is nice, but I'd rather have 90 in all skills and 46 perks, leaving Goodsprings at level 47.
Why do all that work when you can just use the console! A single player game, cheat as much as you want!

You can also do this with mini nukes and a shotgun. A shotgun that fires a pile of nukes instead of pellets is about as powerful as you'd expect.
but wont shotgun have limits on ammo more ? though you can be so strong you nuke yourself to legend status!

I'd think there might be a small issue of self-inflicted damage at that point though...

That exp exploit, plus the Skilled trait glitch which gave you +5 points to all your skills (Twice, once at Character creation and once again when they ask you if you wanna change anything, which gives you 5 more in each skill without anymore lose in exp gains) about 5-6 hours, and 1 book for a few specific skills... CAN get you to 100 points in all skills... without mods of course and it's base game.
I like at the end there how Spiff is yelling, "You should be celebrating you're all saved," while blasting everyone into oblivion. All it was missing was some diabolical laughing 😂

My favorite part about this is you can do this with any ammo type. If anyone's interested try this out with a shotgun shell, .50 caliber rifle shots, etc. It's so fun. :)
It also works in every fallout game slightly differently used to be able to do it in fallout 76 for example 😅
Is is possible on ps3?
does this work with Euclid's C Finder ammo?
You can also load melee weapons with mini nukes.
Firing seven 40- or 25-mm plasma grenades simultaneously from the riot shotgun is also rather fun.
I absolutely love the "physics" in Hodd Toward's games.
I love the guidelines. Thanks for playing one of my favourite games.
Invoking Todd Howard is weird for this one, because AFAIK Bethesda ("Todd") set Obsidian up to fail, rather than being the one making things "work." Naturally, they made one of the most beloved Fallout games under those circumstances.
I’m not defending anyone, but I also wanna know if what you’re saying is true or you’re just saying it because you dislike Bethesda(or Todd)
"Set up to fail" might be overstating it, but they kinda got shafted.
Obsidian got hired to do New Vegas, and given a severely limited budget, and only 18 months to do it in.
And on top of that, there was a stipulation in the contract that if the game didn't get over so and so many percent on the reviews on average, they wouldn't get any bonuses.
...They were 2% below.
This is why the story of New Vegas is actually good, but the game itself is still janky as all hell.
And probably also why there aren't enough money in the world to convince Obsidian to ever work with Bethesda again...
@@The_KeeperWell, technically they are the same company now that MS owns them both, so there is a small glimmer of hope, but it looks like Fallout 3 is the one MS was considering working with unfortunatley

He respawns his clothes and inventory every few days if you pickpocket if off of him, so he's not a bad way of getting the Roving Trader Outfit, which gives +5 to barter. The Roving Trader Hat is worn by many thugs, especially in Freeside, so that's not hard to get.

Fallout New Vegas, being my favorite game by far, somehow always seems to always get more broken every time I see spiff get anywhere near it xD Perfectly balanced as always 👌
Funny because when it came out, it was the most broken game at the time. Not because of the Engine, but because Obsidian doesn't know how to make a good game. Just look at the snoozefest that was Pillars of Eternity, or the mediocre garbage that was The Outer Worlds 😂

Glad to see these exploits talked about, always been a fun time in New Vegas. I usually use nukes when feeling particularly benelevent.
Ah the ammo swap glitch, I’ve actually been aware of this one for years, you can turn the Laser Detonator or any recharger weapon into a missile/rocket/mini nuke spewing monster, or you can have your .50cal anti-materiel Rifle consume BBs instead of the heavy and expensive .50cal rounds, have he Alien blaster shoot literally anything instead of the like 150 rounds you’d normally get with it, or you can turn all of that 9mm ammo you haven’t been using into mines or even C4 to sell for tons of caps.

@@brandonparodo803 I have crashed my XBox more than once doing that!
Something I didn’t realize after the Chet speech check exploit was two or three of the powder gangers will have the same amount of leather armor and 9mm ammo spawned on their bodies as you go.
The effect being connected to the ammunition and the gun enabling you to use it makes sense in reality but here sure is a way that might backfire in a game. Feels a bit like the shopkeeper chest exploit.

Fallout New Vegas, It's so good and perfectly balanced that it's still played and totally not exploited to this day.
That's because they're not 'exploits' but 'game features'.
I personally find using the explosive .50 BMG rounds and mininukes to be more fun than the rockets, but to each their own
I'm even more proud that, as a tester on the New Vegas DLCs, someone discovered this exploit and made a video on it. Alleluia!
Spiff! I have a question about Todd Howard approval in Skyrim. Carry weight was annoying. Dustman’s Cairn, Companion mission. So I killed a Skeever and proceeded to loot every item Bethesda would allow and stick it into the dead rat. Carried the corpse around the dungeon filling it up. Literally every item from the dungeon inside my “pack rat”, carried to the exit, to where I could take it all and jump on my horse back to Whiterun.
Is that an exploit?
Sounds more like a feature

Gotta remeber us in the US are famous for a bunch of missile silos disguised as grain silos. And yes many are still active (The ones I toured were not obviously, the one in Alaska was pretty run down, some are even privately owned by farmers who purched the plots back after decativation), they are all over virtually any farm country in the US.
Ive toured one or two, one was in Alaska, and yes they look just like a steel plate grain silo. And yes believe it or not there is some farm country in Alaska, usually small cattle farms.
Fallout gets it close but not quite.

Hey spiff you know what’s even more broken? You can do the same glitch with the fat man nukes from fallout new Vegas and use Esther fatman launcher to increase damage. Tenfold. Ed-e also keeps weapons in peak condition which maxes out damage. Just incase you were unaware
20:46 I love how the popups in the corner are just NOW getting to a critical strike landed on Vulpes Inculta. Definitely the way the game was meant to be played xD
My favourite ammo switch combo is the Big boomer shotgun with Mini nuke, Tiny Tots ammo.
Shotgun shoots 14 pellets per shot, mini nuke tots splits into 9 explosions, 108 total mini nuke explosions.
What a perfectly balanced working game. Love this game ❤
Honestly with the Red Glare and the Detonator right next to each other, the game is practically begging you to do this exploit.
Finally a new vagas video i have been waiting years for this
Yooooo lets gooo im 25 been waiting for thus man to make this i remember when it dropped
I love this video because it shows how stupid OP Obsidian made Deathclaw, for absolutely no reason, in New Vegas. They're a cakewalk to beat in 1 and 2 thanks to the ability to shoot things in the eyes, but somehow in NV their skin is stronger than literal power armour. You can see when Spiff is shooting them he's not breaking their Damage Threshold, *with rockets* for god's sake.
I do appreciate how Obsidian did that though, I mean their name is literally Deathclaw and this interpretation really fits the name
Seems I'm unable to hotkey ammo. Anyone else?
