She got stabbed in the abdominal aorta the LARGEST blood vessel in the entire body (the size of a garden hose) that would explain the crazy amount of blood. Sadly, there is no way she could've survived that. Aortic Trauma has an incredibly high mortality rate and is immediately fatal due to internal hemorrhage. The nearest help she could've gotten was from a toddler, the paramedics would not have arrived in time. She needed immediate surgery, even then, she would have a slim chance of surviving.

exactly lol it's funny to see people's naive expectation that doctors can just fix everything because they're supposed to save lives. Unfortunately reality doesn't work that way in certain situations like these. Like you said, there's nothing that Aqua could have done besides applying pressure, which how much pressure can a toddler even apply? Even in the case that the paramedics were already on the scene, they'd need to compress tf out of the area + establish IV access to try to replace the blood with some kind of fluid resuscitation. The likelihood of surviving abdominal aortic trauma depending on the extent of the transection that likely happened in the stabbing is infinitesimal at best. 80% die on the scene, even more die en route to the hospital, even more die during the operation.
i think if her internal injury didn't kill her first the blood loss would.

Yeah in the manga it's so easy to forget he was reborn because of the plot, and it really feels like he's just a normal teenager traumatized by the fact that his mom died in front of him.
In some way it’s good that he’s actually an adult doctor who have seen tons of deaths already and not an actual 4 year old. A 4 year old would never recover from this

@@nguyendi92 True about Ruby, another "safety net" for Aqua's sanity is that he too was murdered, and didn't die naturally like Sarina/Ruby.
Still, both are Ai's fans to die for, and loved her as an idol AND a mother, so that was a huge fucking toll on their psyche.
@@WeiYinChan that’s something I actually kind of liked, was that he’s an adult and had probably been around a lot of death before and is “used” to this sort of thing. But Ruby’s just 12, so it’s probably better that she didn’t have to see it
What's more messed up is that this sort of scenario is very real. Real life idols experience this kind of thing from their 'parasocial' fans that think they own this idol and ignores the fact that these idols are also real people that have real lives behind the camera. It's really f-ed up and scary.

I had to see Ai die 3 fucking times (reading the manga, watching the episode, editing my own reaction) and it hurt just as much every fucking time. Aka is a genius, and so is the studio that adapted this. Heightened an already extremely emotional scene to a new level.

I only now realized that Ruby being on the other side of the door is significant to her character in that she's never quite fully exposed to the dark underbelly of the entertainment industry (or life at large for that matter) the way Aqua is, only seeing it through a filter, censored by frosted glass, always teetering on the edge as she works towards becoming an idol and part of this anime/manga's intrigue is seeing if she'll be able to keep her innocence, or at least keep her spark even after facing that abyss.
That lifeless face of ai was just terrifying

A ruptured aorta in any form isn’t something you can save. Being a doctor just hammered it in even more that there is literally nothing he could do. He must’ve felt so hopeless in the situation. A ruptured aorta can cause death in under a minute.

Abdominal Aorta supplies all the blood to your lower extremities, death is guaranteed. You will bleed out in 1-2 minutes tops.
To put it in a perspective(those who read replies). Aqua mentioned abdominal aorta, where an aorta is connected directly to the heart. Since it's purpose is to send oxygenated blood, it is always in high pressure. Direct pressure over the wound wouldn't help as you could only stop the bleeding by stitching the aorta itself. Not to mention the knife went through from front to back.
Also, even if the aorta was just nicked, the pressure the heart gives it will enlarge that tear over time.
Yeah, it was the aorta, she was already too late since the knife was pulled. She was, in short, already dead.

Like tons of people I walked into the anime without knowing a damn thing. I had seen some comments under Roshi's patreon reaction talking about "get ready for pain" so I knew it was probably going to be a sad anime. Then this damn hour and half long episode made me totally forget all about that until the last 5 minutes.
Also, Idk what it is, but seeing the light leave anime character's eyes is like uncanny valley material. Seeing Ai animated so hauntingly beautiful creeped me out, but also seeing her smile put me at peace. What a strange mix of emotions, and a few reactors caught how scary she kind of looked.
What makes this even sad, is that, even though he's a Certified Doctor, he doesn't have any tools nor his body can physically operate on her wound and it is his oshi currently dying infront of him hugging him in her last moments, as well as the news of her dying didn't even last a week
when Ai said "I love you" I think we all started crying fr. haven't cried at an anime this hard since watching Angel Beats yeeeeeears ago.
So This Anime was made by the same person who made Kaguya
Fun Fact: Kaguya as an Adult actually has a cameo in the Oshi no Ko manga. So basically both series are on the same universe.

Aka Akasaka sensei is a fucking genius for how he is able to write his characters with a lot of humanization to them and how he's also very knowledgeable is many topics and can handle them very well.

My heart dropped like a brick when I saw this sequence, because this episode was a wave, I enjoyed the ride. This was a home run. And so far the rest of the season has been amazing.
Episode 1 was such a masterstroke of how to make the a revenge plot more compelling to the maximum effect. All throughout it sets up a different kind of tone than what the rest of the story was supposed to be for one reason. To rob it away from the audience. Revenge stories have always been "protagonist lost someone they love so now we watch them execute their vengeance". Oshi no Ko made it into "we lost Ai and her whole growing subplot and now we're watching her son take vengeance not just for him and his sister but also for us who love her"
The place where she received the blow was fatal. And just by the amount of blood she lost, it was already possible to have an idea that nothing else could be done, even though he was a doctor, he was a child.
The “I love you”….that just..no words can describe how much that got me, I just…wow 😭

Doki Doki Literature Club has made me a prophet. My buddy said he heard about this anime, and that everyone was saying to watch this as blind as possible. I immediately thought there was gonna be a huge twist, because i was told the same about DDLC. So a little bit after Aqua gets reincarnated, I made a little joke. "Bro, they're trying to pass this off as a cute slice of life, but watch its actually a gritty revenge story." and he said "imagine." like nah we dont gotta , i was right lmao.
So the lesson for both of these is to NOT gently open the door

This was the most emotional anime I have seen for years its hard for me to even cry besides funerals but this scene just broke me into tears being reborn as your idol children just to watch her die in front of your face
I really didn't hear about this Oshi No Ko until Netflix posted it, i don't have an idea of what story is gonna be, from Ai became pregrant at age of 16 really messed me up already to Ai murdered by her fan to Aqua and Ruby getting justice, i hope every episode turns out like this. I'm looking forward for the next episodes. The first episode has unpredictable storyline, the author is really genius though.

Fuc*ing Aka Akasaka man👏👏. This man's writing was making me laugh in the first 40 minutes and the rest...........is well, history. I had a similar experience in Love is war where i was laughing at a scene when suddenly in a second he managed to break my heart.
The same happened here. Except my heart wasn't just broken. It was left in shambles. He managed to take us down the same path believing that this was gonna be slice of life with complications just like Love is war but makes a 361° turn. Oshi no ko is gonna make history and im gonna be here for every moment of it.
Aka Akasaka has written a show capable of challenging the King of anime itself once before and he has done so again.
