Reading the comments I am quite shocked that they all go in the same direction, claiming reverse gender discrimination / a biased view of the video.
Yes, the video is titled "Gender Equality" and is mainly about girls. Yes, gender discrimination is not a good thing, no matter in which direction.
No, male discrimination is most of the time not a systematic problem (it might be in specific situations, though - like when it comes to divorce/children).
No, the video should not be about mens problems. This is a very short video which addresses only the main problems with focus on economically relevant questions / statistics. I am not aware of any country where men have systematic disadvantages compared with women. Hence asking the video to be about men seems grotesque.
When hearing that 70% of all college graduates in OECD countries will be women in 2025, you have to think/research first before you complain about reverse gender discrimination. The reason for this number seems to be that men get higher salaries than women. Thus they are less willing to continue college when they are at a certain dept level / see a career chance (see fortune.com/2013/03/27/boys-vs-girls-whats-behind-the-college-grad-gender-gap/ and gas.sagepub.com/content/27/1/30.short). So while not graduating could be considered undesirable, it is done because of better chances. Hence, the reason is again gender inequality where women are disadvantaged compared to men.

"I am not aware of any country where men have systematic disadvantages compared with women."
Most if not all developed countries.
Just as women struggle to get into STEM fields and other male-dominated professions, males struggle to get into Education, Nursing and other female-dominated professions. The thing that's getting on peoples nerves is that this video (and the media to some degree) only shows one side of the situation (the female side) even though both sides have issues. I'm not going to lie at my University I see a ton of posters, advertisements and programs pushing women to try Engineering, Math, Architecture etc (which is perfectly fine). I just don't EVER see the reverse.
Yes it's true that on average Men have higher starting salaries, but it's also true that Men tend to go for higher paying jobs so.... eh?

This feeling (instead of logic) based presentation is a good piece of material, for who still can think critically to laugh at radical feminism ideologies.
    1. Their goal is to increase male unemployment:
0:54: "Almost twice as many female students as male in higher education." (And that's a good start)
2:34: "Education is a good start, but what about employment and entrepreneurship?" (Do they want women to be 66% workforce and 66% small business owners? How much resource and political leverage do they need to "encourage" women to compete and dominate men in these areas?)
    2. Their solution for falling fertility rate is to get more women work full-time:
1:38: "Many countries are facing the double challenge of aging population and falling fertility rate. The challenge is ensuring that more women work, and those who want to, can go full time." (So we can have more money right now to support our living standard and let next generation face a worse situation?)
By presenting the rest of the "shocking facts", such as female students choose social science and male students choose engineering in higher education, as "gender inequality" that should be "fixed". This feminist has demonstrated lack of basic thinking ability and dialogue manipulation techniques we experience all over mainstream media.

Studies where two identical resumés were reviewed for a science job (not sure which job, but research related), both men AND women chose the male applicant, and despite them having identical qualifications, the man got an average score of 4 out of 5, while the woman got a 3.33.

1:02 men and wonmen choosing different career paths.
Yes, because men and woman have different things they like.
low fertility rate was CAUSED by women not staying at home to raise children. sure im all for women going into workplace, but lets not pretend that it does not cause social problems.
1:50 Paygap is a myth. If anything, women get paid more when comparing same amount of work and experience.
2:05 women make 10% boardmembers. there is nothing stopping them from becoming one. they chose not to because women like different challenges.
And yeah, mandatory quota certainly makes things "good". forcing women to do jobs they dont like is the best way to make equality.
2:45 both men and women have exact same legal rights to contribute at work and at home. in fact women have MORE rights due to maternity leave clauses.

Another question that also have to be raised is the fact that woman chose lower paying jobs for higher flexibility in order to manage work and family. The fact is not about the area of occupation they chose but the fact that it was harder for woman to achieve equality if it was mostly woman contributing to taking care of the family. Equality can only be achieved when woman and man contribute and meet half way, both in work and family.

I am 74-years old, and a retired rock musician, having toured the entire country. I have lived through everything from the civil rights movement, to the Free Love and the LSD years of the Swingin' Sixties, to Women's Lib, and even burned my draft card during the Vietnam War, fully willing to face the consequences of that. Many of my best friends are black, gay and lesbian. But I have to voice my complaint about what's happening today, *right here, right now.*
Every freaking time I see a TV commercial, there always HAS to be a black person, an Asian person, and now they're even trying to squeeze in an Indian or two. Just recently I've seen commercials with drag queens as their featured performers, and if I want to see that, I can just watch RuPaul. The whole genre has become so politicized and created to appeal to "total equality" that it has become a genre in itself... and quite frankly, I'm getting SICK of it. The truth is, there has NEVER been complete equality in this, or any other country. And now, they're trying to totally ELIMINATE all gender classifications. You can actually be PUBLICLY HUMILIATED for calling someone a "waiter or waitress," or a female actor an "actress." Not only is this petty bullshit getting on my last nerve, but it has NOTHING to do with actual gender equality, but only "political correctness," which I find to be gag-inducing nonsense of the highest order. I don't care WHAT bathroom someone wants to use, or who is banging who. In my opinion, these are strictly personal concerns, and no one, especially no GOVERNMENT has any right to compress us into their own, little boxes. Now, the Chairman, I mean... Chair PERSON of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, is actively promoting voting to eliminate the words, "Father," "Mother," "Grandfather," and "Grandmother" from the English language!!! This is clearly pathological insanity, and I cannot support it. The implications of it would create such useless division and mindless aberration in society as to be political suicide.
I believe that everyone has the God given right to do, or be, anyone they want to be. But that doesn't give ANYONE the right to shove it in my face, constantly and without let up. Whatever anyone wants to do behind their bedroom door is their business, but I don't want it to be MINE. It's time for us to get back to normal, whatever that once was.

no, it is from 'average earnings' across the board. most countries (USA, AUSTRALIA, CANADA etc ) dont even control for simple factors like 'hours worked per week'. most site this as 'making a difference' but go on to state 'not a notable one'... even though men work ~10% more hours than women (in the usa/australia) - which more than accounts for the ~15-20% gap most western countries have (10% more hours results in more than 10% extra pay over a career).

That is exactly what I was trying to say, you can not compare such a broad field. Men do many more fields that women have shown no interest in. Scaffolding for example.
Therefore if you take an average of the total you will always come up with a picture that men earn more than women.
But if you look at a woman that has worked for 30 years without kids and a man in the same position and same job, the woman tends to earn more.

Question. This video is tittled Gender Equality and the first words are "More young women... followed by feminist propaganda. What happened to the EQUALITY part? So less young men are getting higher educations, guess that's fine. No other male problem is even mentioned. They should rename this video to Female Equality. The only reason I watched this video was to escape the Patriarchy vs Disposable Male crap.

1:55 makes no sense at all, if men work in sectors that get paid bether like engeneering they deserve the extra money, woman can do exactly the same, there is a very slight inequality between man and woman if they would do exactly the same jobs. In this scenario woman would earn 2% less then man.

women are basically saying that we men are oppressing them, but how? We literally don't have them chained or put down in any form. We literally do nothing and don't mess with them yet we are oppressing them,HOW? if you're working less you will get paid less no exceptions ladies. If you want to be an engineer men are doing nothing to stop you, your choices literally stop you. And women don't read better than men because when I was in middle school I had a college reading level no lie, and every female I knew didn't have that kind of level both the males and females seem to have the same amount overall, some on 3rd grade reading level for both genders some way higher no difference. So can someone please explain to me how women are down in any sense?

75% of marriages have the man earning more, wouldn’t that affect how caring for children might fall on the woman more? Why don’t you go tell women stop wanting to marry up to men who make more and choose a man who want to stay home? But you won’t because that means hypergamy is affected!

"can only be achieved when woman and man contribute and meet half way, both in work and family."
That is an Utopian idea that, unfortunately does not pass the "reality" test and female nature.
As long as women practice hypergamy there is no point for a man to be seen as a "nice guy" that can offer to do 50% of the house work. He will be the same man comforting the girl he wants while she doesn't understand why Mr big bucks or van wilder can not be controlled yet she finds them desirable.

Besides, the 16% wage difference is probably from a man and woman working the same job. If it were men vs. women's wages overall, the percentile difference would probably be much, much higher.

92% of workplace deaths are of men. men work an average of 12 hrs more a week. no one likes engineering or science, it's hard for everyone. most engineers rate the high pay as the main reason they became engineers. why do men do it? bc most women say they require their partner to be "as, or more, sucessful" than they are. this is why men work more hours and in harder fields and why paychecks are different.

I am willing to see men as "victims" of gender stereotypes & poor social supports, you portray them as "doers" who cause their own deaths, poor IQs, suicides, mental health issues, & incarceration rates. The difference is that my view leads to us engineering solutions. I don't think your view is "stupid", I think it's instinctive. It's human instinct to value, protect, & victimize women & to see men as disposable masters of their fates. I ask only for balance.

If we really want progress done for men AND women, the feminists and the masculinists (or men's rights activists) need to work together to combat prejudice, discrimination, and gender roles that have ruined lives for so many people. If feminists truly care about gender equality, then they will ask for men's help to make society more fair for both sexes and doesn't treat them as separate creatures. AND, if anti-feminists complain about feminists not caring about men's issues, then they

The great social problem of inequality between the sexes needs to be corrected. As long there are sports like football, and an excessive male-majority military, societies will always be male-dominated, and women will always be treated second-class and restricted as they are now. A small fraction of women participates in important power jobs as social tokens or if they are wealthy, but misogynistic attitudes are deeply rooted in religion, literature, and social norms. World-wide, 70% of females still live in poverty, and according to Global Citizen, in 2015, there were only 21 female heads of state in the entire world. Male domination world-wide is a well-established network.
It is just not the over-populated countries like India and China, but there is the double- standard in countries like America and The United Kingdom too. Stereotypical gender roles need to be addressed before living conditions can change to build a new social environment, and we are a long way from achieving that goal in America and world-wide. The misogyny begins in the traditional home and is reinforced by the media with the attitude that females are naturally weaker than males on all levels.
In 1994, Tega Loroupe ran her first major marathon (aside from many in other countries) in New York, and she won even though she was only five feet and one inch tall and only weighted about eighty-eight pounds; hence, the female body is not weaker than the male since exercise was the key (aside from the fact that women outlive males.) As long as there are multi-million-dollar sports like football, Kabaddi and cricket (and others) that prohibit co-ed participation, the notion of male superiority (Serena Williams could easily play football) is well-established and respectfully accepted in all aspects of society. In every country, the strong arm of the military is predominantly male and figuratively speaking: wars with other countries is just like playing football.
In the schools, sports like football dominate assemblies, and the focus is on male students winning scholarships to play college sports. In society, the media promotes male-dominated sports, and the male athletes are adored like heroes for playing games and making millions of dollars. On the other hand, in many countries, females are objectified, disrespected and devalued except the women who have inherited wealth or obtained professional status although they are still victims of misogyny like the rest who dare to want equality. . . The way conditions can change is when males allow it.

So women don’t have any affect on societal change? You do realise when it comes to marriage women want men to earn more. The fact that 75% of marriages having the man earn more proves it, which means he’ll have to work longer hours. Then women complain about having to do the caring for children part more. Don’t you see any contradiction there?
