@@nofurtherwest3474Plus he put on a lot of muscle mass (and maybe fat). At Barça he was strong but lean. At Madrid he looked like a tank. His increased weight, combined with his injuries must have reduced his speed. Plus supposedly he wasn't the greatest worker and loved to party and eat, all this can't have helped stay quick.

When I know he played at Madrid the following year, and Milan the following two? Both Madrid and Milan are greater clubs than Corinthians.
He did not play at a high level for Corinthians.
His first season was fair but they only finished 10th, his second season was worse and he played no games in Serie A his third year and only 4 total in his third season.

As a Ronaldo fan i can see that this version of Ronaldo tho averaging almost 30 goals a season in his 1st 3 season at Real, he was no longer 94 till 99 Ronaldo, he had to adapt his game, still incredible despite injuries and weight issues he was still brilliant, he lost speed explosiveness and power but his technique was immaculate

The real Ronaldo as far as I am concerned. When he came to Europe he started out at PSV in our modest Dutch league, which was advised by that other Brazilian legend Romario, who also started out there. Ronaldo only briefly stayed here because it became clear almost immediately that he was way too good for our national level, so a move to Barca made a lot of sense. Not only his skill was highly appreciated over here, but his likable character as well. He even tried to learn our language, which I suppose is incredibly difficult for someone from Latin America. In the Netherlands we still have a place in our collective football heart for the greatest Brazilian striker that ever stood on a pitch.

@@nofurtherwest3474Even though he is a striker, focus on his precision mainly meaning focus on passing, the better he will be able to place the ball the better he will finish and create plays under pressure , speaking of play creation have him become more aware of spacing and positioning even at that early age, as in my experience at least my coaches did not emphasize it until I was playing for U15

Happening to all countries, overall technical ability has declined in favor of more team play. The biggest problem with Brazil however is they aren't creating good number 9s anymore. R9 was the last great one sadly.
