Multi-Cam cut of Springsteen performing "Drive All Night" with some image stabilization from the concert at Los Angeles Sports Arena on March 19, 2016.
I went to all three nights of this, The River 35th Anniversary Tour, when it came to the Los Angeles Sports Arena in 2016. I was here this night this clip was recorded. I was also here on Halloween night of 1980 to see Bruce and the band on the original River Tour. I was 13, and that night changed my fucking life. The night this clip was made was the third night of a three night sold out stand at the L.A. Sports Arena in 2016. I went to the first night, Tuesday, by myself. The second night, a Thursday and also St. Patrick's Day, I went with my older brother. I was 48, he was 53. We went together to see Bruce in 1980. I was 13, he was 18. Anyway, the night of this clip, a Saturday night, I took a new girl I had just met and started dating about 10 days earlier. She wasn't a Springsteen fan, preferring alternative rock. When they got to this song, and towards the end, at about the 9:47 mark, when Jake's sax solo kicks in, the arena begins to light up with cell phones acting as lighters use to back in the day. By the time Jake gets a minute into it, the whole damn place is bathed in brilliant lights. My new girl, Laura and I, are up towards the top, on Bruce's right. Nil's side. We begin to look all around at the scene from up top where we're sitting. All the lights begin to take on an effect that seems, like a beautiful romantic starlit night, with Bruce singing his heart out in a plaintive plea for his girl to know that he'd do anything to be with her, he'd drive all night just to be with her. As I look around, I'm thinking to myself-a Saturday night at a Bruce Springsteen show with a new woman in my life that I am totally digging, and I think she's feeling me too. I look over at her to see if she's enjoying the show, but more importantly, to see if she's feeling and thinking anywhere along the same lines as me? I turn to my right sheepishly, expectantly, longingly. My big browns catch her big browns looking up at me smiling shyly, demurely, and all at once I realize, she's thinking and feeling EXACTLY how I am. I lean in, she pulls up and leans in...........and before you know it, I swear I've died and gone to heaven, as the sweetest, kindest most caring and loving intelligent beautiful woman in the world is holding me, we're in each other's arms and locked in an everlasting kiss.........and Bruce and the band the soundtrack for this, quite possibly the most blissfully sublime moment of love and romance I've ever had in my 50 years. We stop and come up for air and the song is just about ending. We look around just as Bruce is doing the same and he just says one word, "nice".... we look back at each other and smile cause we know we've both found what we've been looking for.... ThanKs Bruce. That was the 20th time I've seen Bruce and I'll never forget it or that moment. Oh yeh, Laura and I are still together two years later.

Bruce Springsteen looks like a bum..lucky for him he learned to write and play..otherwise he'd fit right in on a box car.
