The four axel sequence, alternating directions with each axel was amazing. It's a lot harder to do than it looks, and especially to change jump direction from one jump to the next. It's a talent of a by-gone era. Jumping (and spinning) in both directions is seldom seen anymore.
No one talks about Carol Heiss when they mention the greatest skaters of all time but she dominated skating over her last 4 years like no since Sonia Henie did, And that includes Michelle Kwan. She could have won at least one more Olympic gold medal and 3 more World Championships.
Agreed. Her figures we so strong that she could have even won 1968 & 1972 IMO. Trixie Shuba won in '72 based on the strength of her figures. Fleming was great in 1968, but her figures weren't as good as Heiss and their FS content was comparable.

Michelle Kwan is all but forgotten. Nobody will forget Tonya Harding...the greatest of them all.
