I completely quit clock before this comp and did about 20 solves of practice since my last comp. throughout the day I was getting 6s and 7s in practice and got a 7.74 average in round 1. when I practiced sub 4 officially was one of the goal I really wanted, but since I stopped caring it didn't really matter anymore, and that's how I managed this.
all of the scrambles were actually pretty good, and I turned slow on purpose for the last 2 or 3 to just to not mess up and lock in a decent average. this was completely unexpected and I was not too excited at the time but the fact that the description is this long I secretly care inside. another goal ofine is sub 4 clock single but who knows when I'll get that, if ever. either way it doesn't matter and I'm just glad I got this before being too rusty
