When i was Workin in the overseas before, I'm confused. Why diff. Nationality engineer's sometimes argue in the site. Same what i see in this video. Some argued because of this matter. Now I understand why most of other countries, doesn't pick one, but multiple kinds of engineers to have a project going. Some are from INDIA, BRITISH, AMERICAN, AND ASIANS. I had a question, it is not correct to use of almost any size (diameter) of reinforcing bars, as long that by computation, the Area of Steel bars required theoritically with respect to maximum moment of the beam, subject to the Design Load, is met and satisfied?
Thanks for good videos and education... In my work I also specify 5cm minimum concrete cover over all steel. The reason being I see many hundreds of houses built with rapid onset corrosion in the reinforcing bars tearing open the concrete within a few years of construction... cracks everywhere. We are located next to the ocean with a salty sea breeze. Use of cement specifically made for salt environment will never happen due to the cost being at least 7 times more expensive per bag. But staying with 5cm concrete cover, low slump and vibrated properly gives good durability in my experience. Any thoughts?

12 mm 6 bar or 16 mm 4 bar. Which is best for G+1 story building for column?

The development length of rebar is the embedment length into the concrete to generate required bond strength as specified in the codes.
What's about Callum? They didn't rise up to roof.
It is only at the stage from ground floor to the 1st floor now. To reach to the roof floor, they need 2nd cast and rebar lapping of course.
No bars in side portion but beam height is apx 1 ft
No need extra bar in mid bcz height less
Side face reinforcememt is required when depth of beam is more than 700mm with no torsion if torsion is resist when depth is 450mm
