We need a combined Adam Savage, Colin Furz and Objectivity collaboration to make the tricycle 😂

I’m so glad we live in a timeline where Adam moved to making more content on CZcams. I just finished the last two seasons of myth busters for the first time and felt very sad to lose the creative energy until I remember there’s plenty of stuff for me to watch with him in it alongside other great people like in this video.

It's interesting that the cart with no wheels gets short shrift here; now that there's the control electronics to make walking machines possible, robodogs are the go for all-terrain movement, and when the walking cart was dreamed up, really good roads were very few.

You can do a walking device with no knees but there must be some way to lift the feet - if not knees then it needs "hips" to rock and lift the whole leg, then the hips need to be on some sort of swivel to keep the "down" leg from trying to swing sideways, then you need some mechanism to keep the legs perpendicular to the ground, etc. Knees are probably simplest.

If my wonky maths is correct then Hudson's tricycle design predates the actual Penny-Farthing bicycle by forty or fifty years.
He has all the right ideas for a recognisable peddle-powered vehicle nearly half a century beforehand. I feel that this says something interesting about the nature of invention but I can't think what.

Excellent project. Adam - you are going to have to increase the stroke of that crank; it will never move with that gear ratio. And the seat won't get much use - you'll have to stand on the pedals to shift them.
