Been seeing a lot of shows where they put their bed in front of the window - I can see that if your room is really tight on space. But you can't open the window or operate the blinds without crawling on the bed.
Loved it all, the only thing I would mention is the table at the end of the bed. Someone might hit their leg on the front edge of the table as they round the corner to get to their side of the bed. Maybe not, but that is the only minor critique I might mention. LOVE the color palette. And, I love these older videos with Tommy and Sarah together…such great chemistry.
The room became an elegant retreat. The vintage furniture was perfect. I didn’t really care for the artwork that was chosen but overall I think it was a great makeover.
Great example of patterns, textures, lines adding lots of interest to a very subtle, neutral palette. I was hoping it'd still have lavender the owner likes and it does. I see there's ways to get lavender in there in small ways that still have an impact. Very soothing room. Cohesive without being matchy-matchy. I like how much focus was on finding bargains then remaking them. Not my personal style at all but I appreciated watching this all unfold. The owner seemed happy and it still seems soft and romantic like the original was but modernized.
When you said beige, I thought Well...maybe a champagne shade will work, a long as the romantic feel is kept and updated. Glad you kept the art dreamlike instead of modern/ loud. The only thing I wish we could have seen was her initial reaction! Nicely done!
Katef...the original color scheme reminds me of an article I read many years ago, when the Women's Institute in Ireland (maybe '50's?) invited a speaker to tell them how to decorate a BandB ... new concept then. She mentioned the color mauve would look nice, and within a few years, virtually every BandB in Ireland had mauve bedrooms! Cautionary Tale on advice!
Sarah is an extremely talented designer. Her attention to how people live best in their rooms is one of her greatest strengths in reality. Highly intuitive; she sees what we cannot, & quickly.
I have always loved watching your videos. This transformation is breathtaking. Even though the earlier room was pretty , it was a bit dated and fussy. The current makeover is truly timeless and classy. Something that Sarah and Tommy are so good at doing. I loved it !!
Went from Grandma room to a feminine oasis and calming haven. Was a bit worried on the headboard in that it didn't add more older look in there but it worked out great as do the pillows in front of it. Glad you could save the floors and the vintage worked well, glad you didn't paint all of them, ha. The original was too old for her, glad she got to redo her haven.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!! Gives me some thoughts for my super small bedroom. It is already in neutrals as is most of the rest of my house but this gives me ideas of how to kick it up a notch. really Enjoyed this one.
I liked the vibe of the original. Was the ribbon on the sheet not lavender, and actually the same color as the previous walls? Glad they chose the photographs. Neutral is a good balance pairing for color, but it's not stand alone or timeless. This is very 2000's . Especially 'branches' wallpaper. Wished the headboard fabric matched the wing chairs (someone's going to correct me on calling them wing). King sized bed👍.
Love the wall paper. I really think this is the perfect anchor to the room design. So glad you went with the small prints, the other art pieces, not so much! The chairs are amazing and really help the room to look restful and peaceful and definitely classy!
Love the room. Didn't love the coffee table bench. Don't think it's strong enough for someone to sit on to use & not pretty enough to just take up space. Sandi
Linen and lavender, what could be better? At it's so fun to go vintage shopping and upcycle the pieces into the room! I just find that the curvy silhouettes are a bit repetitious: headboard, bedside table legs, seating area chair legs (see 18:31). Then the "bench" legs are spindly and may not take the weight of someone sitting down! Art choices are good.
Honestly! You are a design inspiration!! You, Sarah have such an inbred, ornate talent, it's breathtaking! And you are complemented by Tommy and your team so syncronisley! Is that a word? Anyway, I'm in awe of your style of decorating. You always seem to get it harmoniously right! Just brilliant 👏 👌 😀 👍 😄 🙌 👏
My favorite are the two chairs they look super super expensed, second the table and last the headboard..the paintings mmm I am not sure I probably do two nice photographs printed in acrylic, I almost forgot the two tables with the mirros.
Holy moly, this woman, Sarah, is always impeccably dressed herself. How I'd love to have her pick out my wardrobe. It wouldn't exactly fit MY body like this, but still. Love her style.
Woo ! that is a big transformation for this badroom from grandma to gleam . Thank you Sarah that is good idea for me to transforming my badroom look old and ugly .
I will never be able to sleep with my head under a window. I will feel exposed and insecure. The new colour palette in the room is tasteful and calming.
Would never put a bed in front of a window…I want to look out a window….I want to be able to pull back or close the drapes…just seems so wrong when anyone does this. It’s funny you see designers do this all the time but when it comes to their own houses they NEVER do this…maybe I’m wrong but not with starlight farm either
I'm so glad their are pink accents. I'm not into neutrals. Hotels are beautiful but lack personality. I love the overall look but the small prints don't cut it.
It’s interesting how at one time we can love a certain look. And then a few years later we regard it as unattractive and old fashioned. This is called ‘fashion’. We are thus manipulated by magazines and other media to keep updating and consuming even when we have perfectly good items. Most of us are influenced this way, especially women. So it’s not just the big corporations and elites that are guilty of overusing our planets resources, and contributing to greenhouse gases ( and cluttering up our lives and creating unnecessary landfill and pollution) - it’s all of us. The natural world is paying the price. As will future generations. I’ve been as guilty as anyone but am seeing the truth of it all now. The ‘fun’ of it all is starting to pale as this ‘inconvenient truth’ takes hold.
Pretty, but not functional. The light next to the chairs is too low for reading, so they won't be used for anything except putting on one's shoes. There's no storage next to the bed for tissues, meds, etc. that we want to keep nearby but don't want to see. The table at the end of the bed is a shin-breaker and isn't needed to sit on since the room has chairs already. It's just another surface to collect clutter. I do like the show overall and how they show the craftspeople and their capabilities. But prettiness over function? Not so much.
A room of Blah! It says no one , everyone and anyone can live in this room. Nothing stands out as this is MY room, my comfort zone! Your right, this is a hotel room.
Although many people in larger cities like the hotel room look, just as many of us find it cold and lacking in personality. In a private home there is always some personality, something that speaks of who lives there. This is what I don't like about designers. They think they're always right.
This is a beautiful room but I just can't even like the art work.... I don't know what would work either. Anyway, LOVE the wall paper and curtains. LOVE LOVE LOVE the sitting area. Not too thrilled with the head board or dresser. BUT that's because I DISLIKE anything "mid -century". I was there - I lived in it. There was nothing pretty about it. The things that are called mid-century now are NOT even close to what it was really like back then.
King bed by herself? Maybe she’s not about neutral? I like these neutrals in fabric textures. Should’ve the floor been done after the ceiling? Don’t like the framed art. Bedroom is chic but should match better.
I feel badly for people who need others to pick “favorite” things for them and then it’s all so boring and reflective of nobody. So this room went from 80s yawn to 2020s yawn and to make it worse it’s referred to as “hotel chic.”
I hear what you’re saying especially in looking at the artwork but the homeowner looked like she was in her 50’s with a grandma looking bedroom. And the not so obvious is - she handed it all over to someone else to do something on a very tight budget. Wouldn’t it be a treat to have a Sarah Richardson glam it up a bit?
Its feminine for sure, but that what Sarah is great at. Didn't like the mirrored nightstands, chandelier, or that puky lavender colors, but then this wanted feminine.
Been seeing a lot of shows where they put their bed in front of the window - I can see that if your room is really tight on space. But you can't open the window or operate the blinds without crawling on the bed.
Or you have an HVAC vent under the window.
Yes, I can only have upholstered corners at the end of the bed. This is non-negotiable for me. My shins tell the story.
The look of the thing at the end of the bed is a dealbreaker for me. Doesn’t fit design wise.
The room became an elegant retreat. The vintage furniture was perfect. I didn’t really care for the artwork that was chosen but overall I think it was a great makeover.
katef loved the soothing artwork....
I like the artwork, but not the frames.

Beautiful, I like your style. I've missed your show on TV. I'm glad I can watch it here. Thank you
Sarah and Tommy are the most creative duo. Enjoyed the transformation of this beautiful bedroom. Thanks for sharing🌸
Your super welcome Gabriele - more Sarah and Tommy to come
This bedroom looks just like the one my parents had in 1988. My mother loved those dried flower wreaths at the time.
When you said beige, I thought Well...maybe a champagne shade will work, a long as the romantic feel is kept and updated. Glad you kept the art dreamlike instead of modern/ loud. The only thing I wish we could have seen was her initial reaction! Nicely done!

I love this room and the dresser Tommy found...just wow!
Sarah is an extremely talented designer.

Love this bedroom so much - and that wallpaper, I love it!
Glad you like it!

King sized bed👍.
Love most of the decor of the room. Give me back my queen bed. Lets go thrifting for prints on the wall, romantic ones.
Love this! So peaceful and interesting at the same time.
And the whole thing together..wow spectacular now I want to change my room lol
Love the wall paper. I really think this is the perfect anchor to the room design. So glad you went with the small prints, the other art pieces, not so much! The chairs are amazing and really help the room to look restful and peaceful and definitely classy!
LOVE the wallpaper!!
Love the dresser
Beautiful as always
Love the room. Didn't love the coffee table bench. Don't think it's strong enough for someone to sit on to use & not pretty enough to just take up space. Sandi
This design has lasted much better than I thought it would. Much better.
I had all of those pieces of furniture in 1990 for several years.
Ohhhhhhhh what a change. Glorious
I love the new look in the room, but not the bench/table at foot of bed. Very nice work. I always love Sarah’s work.
Superb outcome --- Tommy's dresser was genius!
Right?! Tommy aces it this season
Last words are just perfect!
lovely love the wallpaper the color of the pillows and the lamps and ofcourse sarah is just as well put together
Stunning.
Awesome🥰Thank you for the new upload, Abode! Love Sarah & her gang (especially in Design Inc.!)

So Glad You Enjoy Sarah 101 Vivienne!
I LOVE YOUR ROOMS!
The CHAIRS!
Beautiful.
Love what you did to this room. Would love to know the total cost of the makeover??
A beautiful update! kudos to you both.
Love this!
My favorite are the two chairs they look super super expensed, second the table and last the headboard..the paintings mmm I am not sure I probably do two nice photographs printed in acrylic, I almost forgot the two tables with the mirros.
Perfect . Love the dresser mirror
U both guys are awesome❤️👍🏻
So dreamy and luxurious even though it's on a tight budget
Love those two. For some reason the chopped in the middle pillow drives me nuts.
Love it!!! I stay tune for everything you do you two work well together.
Wow !! gorgeous Great transformations
Absolutely gorgeous. I want it.
Great funny together design team! Results are exquisite.
Glad you think so!
So peaceful, love you two. Works!
Wonderful!
Wow fabulous after. But the furniture prices!
Holy moly, this woman, Sarah, is always impeccably dressed herself. How I'd love to have her pick out my wardrobe. It wouldn't exactly fit MY body like this, but still. Love her style.
Love the wallpaper. Wondering what the name of it is?
Beautiful! (Only thing is headboard looks like a DIY project)
Absolutely beautiful
Very nice! I do love reupholstering, but it is very expensive…at least here in San Antonio.
Woo ! that is a big transformation for this badroom from grandma to gleam . Thank you Sarah that is good idea for me to transforming my badroom look old and ugly .
Just stunning
It's beautiful!
Looks beautiful 😍
Great colors, the headboard not my favorite choice.
Hate the headbord ... looks outdated already. Love the sitting area.
So wonderful
Absolutely gorgeous 👌🏻 I can’t look to my room anymore😅
You can do it!
When all the beige was being pulled, I thought...oh brother! But it's lovely.
I will never be able to sleep with my head under a window. I will feel exposed and insecure. The new colour palette in the room is tasteful and calming.

Another winner!
Can you bleach the sheets with the grosgrain ribbon on it? Will it shrink and pucker?
I'm so glad their are pink accents. I'm not into neutrals. Hotels are beautiful but lack personality. I love the overall look but the small prints don't cut it.
Grandma to Glamma. Tommy! 😂🤣
So beautiful 😍

OK, then sell everything you own and go and live in the woods.
Pretty, but not functional. The light next to the chairs is too low for reading, so they won't be used for anything except putting on one's shoes. Sharp! ❤️❤️
A room of Blah! It says no one , everyone and anyone can live in this room. Nothing stands out as this is MY room, my comfort zone! Your right, this is a hotel room.
Can you give me the name of the wallpaper. Thanks.
Is this show from the 90’s? Early oughts?
Trying to see what the ceiling color is. Did anyone notice?
Although many people in larger cities like the hotel room look, just as many of us find it cold and lacking in personality. In a private home there is always some personality, something that speaks of who lives there. This is what I don't like about designers. They think they're always right.
Do you still have your little house on the island Island
This is a beautiful room but I just can't even like the art work.... I don't know what would work either. Anyway, LOVE the wall paper and curtains. LOVE LOVE LOVE the sitting area. Why are we not given the total cost at the end of the project?
Because they hate you.
Would never want my bedroom to look like a hotel.
I'd have upholstered the front of the headboard, not the backside.
Where does someone find a person to professionally spray paint furniture?
Afghanistan
I'm laughing at the cost of doing all this. It beautiful all the same.
Why would one want a bedroom look like a hotel room!!!!
I loved everything but… the pictures. The walls looked better with nothing. Just my opinion;)
Fix it, Sarah. Fix it.
King bed by herself? Maybe she’s not about neutral? I like these neutrals in fabric textures. Should’ve the floor been done after the ceiling? Don’t like the framed art. Bedroom is chic but should match better.
Like the transformation. The actual art doesn’t do much for me. Otherwise great.
My husband thinks that our bedroom is where he can place every oddball piece of art etc that he finds.UGH. At least no one sees it but us.
Where is Sarah? What's going on?
I feel badly for people who need others to pick “favorite” things for them and then it’s all so boring and reflective of nobody. So this room went from 80s yawn to 2020s yawn and to make it worse it’s referred to as “hotel chic.”

I wouldn't want a room that looks like a hotel.
Why didn't they just paint the old furniture? It looked the same.
Its feminine for sure, but that what Sarah is great at. Didn't like the mirrored nightstands, chandelier, or that puky lavender colors, but then this wanted feminine.
Dare I say that Sarah is a one trick pony?
Have you seen the whole series? She's awesome in all kinds of scenarios...
Think it needed some pops of contrasting color, all blends a little too much and looks cold and bland, i.e. like a hotel room.
