- In continuation of my "Short Takes" video series at All City Auto, I give a tour of a 2006 Nissan Altima. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
I really think this styling of the Altima is timeless. it never gets old to me. I would own one of these year Altima's today
I just got one of these for 5000 with 84,000 miles. Very satisfied with it so far

I have one with 305000 miles, the same model as on the vid, so far no problem at all. Smooth car experience.

I’m. Utilizing g an 06 Altima with 126 k for 3500$. I had a 99 maxima and loved it, the Camry I test drove with 30 k more miles was rattling. The Camrys are nicer looking. The Altima drives smoother.

I bought my 06 altima in may of 2007- it was produced in august of 2006- and I am VERY satisfisfied with this car.
I currently drive a 07 2.5 S Altima & I love it! Very fun car & great on gas! Bought it used 2 years ago. I'm hoping to buy a 3.5 Altima sometime in the near future. They're very rare on the road where I live.
Those things have too much rear leg room. I remember sitting in an '05, you could sleep on that floor! haha
Just bought one of these used today, and I am really liking it so far. I love the visibility and the fact that it doesn't have such a huge dash. This car can also accelerate really well, and that is always good for merging on to highways and stuff like that. I hope that I get to keep this for a long while.

Its a very nice car, and a cool design, I have the 2005 Altima it's my first car, its 8 years old and runs just fine, as long as you take care of it, you know take it for check ups and getting thee Oil changed it'll run. I am getting something new though, because you know it needs too retire after a while lol, Great Car :)

Great rides. My first and current car is an '02 altima. Going on 194k miles. Only major repair *knock on wood* was the cat. converter which was covered by nissan.
I love my '06. Such a great car.

I just got one for 500 dollars from one of my friends, 160k miles. Mechanically, very solid. Cosmetically, not the best. Clear coat is peeling, some minor bumps and bruises. I live in the rust belt, so she is rusty in the rear wheel lips, suspension and exhaust. I'm going to fully restore her suspension/brakes over this year, potentially fix up her exhaust, and drive her until the wheels fall off. Despite the rust/body condition, I can tell she has more time to go! 🙏
This car is everything what a medium income family would reasonably want. The car is quality built with a reliable, but thrifty engine. The vehicle is roomy, comfortable, safe and not overly expensive. However the complain about the mediocre interior is a valid one. I suppose Nissan wanted to differentiate the Altima from the higher designated Maxima, and that was the only way because starting with this generation, the size and the styling of the exterior became quite similar for those two.

My first car really do miss this one
I looooooove my 2.5SL. Full packaged, and just hit 116,000 yesterday. Runs like new, and had giving me NO problems yet. Only had to replace the compressor last year.
how's the crank/camshaft sensors? my dad had an 03 and got it at 30k, gave it back at 133k. Only thing he had to replace was crankshaft sensor
Nascardo Mine is working just fine, Man. 127 on the Dash, and all I've had to replace so far is the A/C compressor.

Hey everybody, what's going on! Today let's take a quick look at this 2006 Nissan Altima 2.5 Special Edition. This is going to be a brief tour of the Altima, We'll start it up show the engine, Go the performance data, And show you bunch of the features on the interior as well as exterior.
Great car. Mine has 166,000 miles and it is running great. I do have to replace a coolant outlet valve connected to the engine because it is leaking. Overall, great car although it is 12 plus year old.
Truly a great car. They have a pre-cat problem but other than that its a great car. I have a 07 3.5SE tho :)

amazingly... i didnt know how great looking the plastics were on the car.... doesnt look cheap. but the grey colour always makes it look dull on any car.

@eripena I believe they are the stock Altima Special Edition wheels.
@StripedComet i think that its all of the chrome. my friends mom has one of these and it doesnt have hardly any chrome.
@derbigpr500 The plastics on the inside was one of the main criticisms of this car in this generation.
Buddy selling one. 2006 with around 120k miles. Ex son in law said he could have it just needed transmission replaced. He replaced the tranny and wants 3500 for it. Everything working great on it he says.

@slimecrazy552 I wouldn't say so. My friend used to have a 2009 Camry and it felt extremely cheap. The interior felt like it was from the late 1990's but put into a 2009 car. In my opinion, the Jetta/Passat has the highest quality interior for the price.

@jetpack2133 ..I know that the 2005 Altima carrys bout 20, and yes its very efficient, and the 02 is decent, theyre 05 -08 models are probably the most efficient though.

Can you put a turbo on a 2.5 4 or 6 cylinder I'm telling you I took it to machine and he said it's got to have something turbo or something

Mine is now 13 years old, 211000 miles.
I have 126k miles on mine bought at 113k had to replace radiator cuz it was leaking from top and just replace the valve cover and gasket beacause the spark tube walls were full of oil except for 1.

They drive it like grannies! I have heard alot of negatives about the 06 and older generations, I think yours is good because they updated them and redid the interiors and such for 07+
I found a 08 Hybrid for only $14k with about 30,000 miles on it! I think I am going to buy it, I can't keep commuting in my Land Rover!

DODGE is cheap, have you seen the dodge caliber interior plastics. thats cheap. have you seen a dodge neon? now sir, that is cheap. you sir do not know how to guage the cheapness of plastics between one car to another. theres a difference between dull and cheap. i would say most cars built 1998-2004 have better plastics compared to any car 2006-present. have you seen the plastics on a c-class? considerably cheap for whats consideredaluxury car

my dog started barking when the radio came on and i was like "relax willie it's the beejees.
My neighbours have one of these and it's super-unreliable. More than once month it gets towed to the shops.

@youngb1ood Yes Dodge does have cruddy interiors. Their new interiors are nice. But I think Nissans are over priced and have sub par interiors.

Can you get a 2.5 V6 turbo or a 4 cylinder turbo it's a 2007 with only 13000 Miles I can tell by my gas and how fast it is something is different but it says 2.5 could they have changed moter does the Nissan Altima 2.5 4 cylinder turbo have any pictures they swear mlnes turbo Ive never seen a 4 cylinder go that fast
I can get 100 in maby 8 to ten at ten at the most no 4 cylinder that fast had 2005 Maxima with a 3.2 or 3.6 V6 and the altama would beat it

whats so special about it... it just looks like a regular altima with different stock rims
