I have the 23 Accord Touring. Recently drove from Duluth to Sandy Springs and back during Friday evening rush hour traffic. Used ECO mode and adaptive Cruise control. No real hills or anything and got 70 MPG. Basically did my best to let the car drive itself. My wife was amazed. Drove from Spruce Pine, NC to my home in Duluth. That is 180 miles and lots of mountainous highway driving. Had the cruise set at 85. Just did my best to let the car drive its self and went with the flow of traffic. Got 46 MPG on that trip. I love this car!
Sheeesh yea I love this car man
Nicely done. What I do are: 1. drive in Econ mode. 2. Use cruise control. 3. Try not to accelerate hard. I, like you, really am enjoying my Accord. I got the Touring and am thoroughly enjoying it.
I do all your steps as well lol. I woulda go the touring but I NEEDED that all black ⚫️ lol
@@therealjstarr I hear you. The black model is very cool looking. The reason I did not get the black one is that I'm in Canada and in the winter with the snow and salt the black shows all the dirt. When clean the black looks super.
@EdfromCanada trust me I definitely understand I am from Baltimore so I am for sure used to the snow LOL
Dam I’ve been looking for videos like this man !
I just got mine on September last year I get about 450 miles on a full tank
Same I'm tryna figure out to get back to 560
Huge tip hold the battery/EV button instead to go into charge mode. Do this when at a drive-in to extend time between the engine turning on to charge the battery. Also turn this mode on several miles before approaching a hill to sustain charge throughout the hills. I noticed it will stay at about half and never seem to drain fully making the engine rev stupidly high on hills.
For sure I got you
Cool trick. I just got an accord hybrid touring and love it
Aye thanks my guy. Congrats!!!!
Best powertrain ever. I have it in the crv and I love the absolute smoothness.
Facts
I’ve had mine since May 2023 and I drive it just like every car I’ve ever had😖
Good entertaining video homie🤜🏾🤛🏾
Same here in May 23 n thanks my guy!!!
Hey bro question about blind spot monitor system some of these 2023 models didn’t come standard as a feature. Mine is sport without bsi do you think it’s possible to install it
You more than likely can get it done at the dealership but price 🤔🤷🏾♂️🤣
Very good video. I like to see exactly when EV mode turns on. I just think you should have used ECON mode instead of NORMAL mode.
I normally do drive in the Ev but the acceleration is better in normal mode
I've been playing around with it some, it definitely is fun. Have u got to play around w/ the traffic jam assist? Thanks for the tutorial
Yes it is and of course for sure lol
So you drive it in EV mode as much as you can?
Also how often do you use recharge, and do you use the vents in your car it seems the fan kills it.
I try to drive in it when I know I'm not gonna b mashing on the gas often
I normally recharge it when it needs to be but honestly if stays in EV it seems like it doesn't last that long b4 you have to recharge it
Do you have any issues with apple car play or with the infotainment screen ?
Often. If you're having problems reset it. I have a video on how to do that too.
Ok I’m lost. Is EV mode necessary to use? What is it actually for? And also where can I check my oil life percentage or did they take that away?
Yeah you can definitely use it I use it when I know I'm just going to cruise for real not going to be accelerating too hard save your gas man if you can takes a while to kind of get used to but it is definitely dope I literally just got back from McDonald's and used it there and back and never switched to gas. Also with the oil change yes scroll the right side menu on the steering wheel grow to maintenance and you'll see the percentage there let me know if you find it
HOW DID YOU CHECK YOUR TIRE PRESSURE?
Honestly I haven't had to thank God but I do have the air valve silver thingy in my car in case my light comes on
Worst thing about owning an expensive car that doesn’t come with Auto tire pressure. Love my Accord but makes no sense
How does the charge button work?
What do you mean?
My 2023 Honda hybrid Only allows me to do charge or auto mode when I try to click the ev it has a line through it how do I fix that?
It should give you a reason why it's not letting you go into EV mode. What is it saying?
@@therealjstarr it just strikes through the ev I can only choose to charge or use auto ev is greyed out 🥲
@@TheBeautifullyFlawed1 yes I know but when you hit the button to go in EV mode on the right side where you get your warning indication signs from it should tell you something like engine is too cool or reduce your speed due to acceleration it has to give you a message
My crv hybrid when the battery is kind of full witch is never full I cruise 50 mph 60 mph on EV then it kick in on gas but kick back on ev once it charge again
Lol facts
It's the same with the regular Civic and Accord. Just keep current speed and ease on the pedal, you can average 50 miles if done right.
I love this car
I wish I could see the engine coolant temp.
What u mean
Where your battery charge level is at it’s normally the coolant lamp level on most cars
I have not bought the car yet, but want to monitor it too, especially to see if it ever warms up in town. On aftermarket there are external gauge cluster kits that monitor it from the OBDC plug. Initially I will use a wireless reader and "Torque" app on my smart device.
So how many mpg you get?
Honestly idk. I drive Uber so I drive alot
I always drive in Econ mode
Change your Gauges back to Normal, It Shows you a green light above 0-2,000rpm is EV, anything above that runs the engine!
Its Broken down by 25, 50 ,75 100. Which stand by 1000s
Breaking early for long periods of time charges the battery quicker. You have the Needle show you on the Green Charge on the left side of the Gauge
My Average MPG is 51 with 93 Octane..
ON NORMAL MODE
600 miles per tank on the 2023 Sport L..
Okay cool thank you I most definitely going to try it
I only get 380 miles to a tank on my 23 sport l 😢
@antonioevans5154 whaaatttt how
I come from a 2016 V6 Accord 😂
Oh u strait doggin it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Can you see navigation in your cluster on that trim?
Yes
What about to the 2024 honda accord hybrid sport L
@@therealjstarrwhat trim is it
It's the Sports L Hybrid
Huh?
Hey, please help me how to disable ACC the radar for accord 2024 EX
Hey go into your vehicle settings you should see the options with a picture of your car then you will see driver assist system setup click on that and you should see the ACC forward vehicle detect beep let me know if this is what you are referring to and let me know how it goes.
@@therealjstarr thank you for your reply I acutely want to disable the ACC and switch it to the regular cruse control as you know the radar is annoying and keep huge gap between my car and the one in front of me and some time hit the break hardly ☹️
Oohhhhhhh u can change the gap between the you and the other car
@@therealjstarr 😅 I don’t like it at all I want to disable it to become regular cruse control with out safe distance 🥲
🤣🤣🤣🤣 oh u different different
please show us on your car how many miles you drive and how many gallons you put in true mpg read out please
I got the 2023 Accord EXL Hybrid and put 12,000 miles on it combo of both highway and city, getting 52.6 mpg. Never used the EV Mode by itself
Have you found that when it is colder, it is harder to keep it in EV mode? I bought my 2023 Accord back in May and up until about Nov, I was getting between 48-50 MPG on my daily commute (about 35 miles at 65-70 mph). Now in the winter, I get about 40-42 mpg on the same commute.
Honestly I haven't paid too much attention to that, but I will now lol
@@therealjstarr I am in Raleigh and you are in Atlanta so cold might not be as big a factor for you.
@RTPTechGuy it's been colder in the mornings than I expected. I'm from Baltimore and even I'm shocked how cold it's been lol
This is common in colder temperatures. In the summertime with the same commute and driving style you'll have either the same 48-50 mpg or more if you're a more conservative driver.
Battery needs to heat up which uses electricity, regular electric cars also lose battery life when it’s really cold easily 5-8 percent turning it on
I realized you can drive in EV between 75 and 77mph. Anything after that it's impossible. EV mode is best in traffic with speeds under 45 and under. If your traveling on highway doing speed limit without having to press the breaks, cruise control is best. When driving down hills let off the gas will save gas also
😄😄😄😄
Brotha it’s much easier if you use cruise control.
Man I b tryna drive strait EV lol
@@therealjstarr
I feel you, I found it easier to stay in EV if I slide into cruise control. I like to click cruise control speed down two consecutive clicks from the speed I set it and the Ev kicks right on. I noticed going down hill on the freeway helps to keep it in EV.
Like him being the first black Accord Hybrid, I felt I was the first one to get the Canyon River blue metallic. Fell in love with the color as soon as I saw it. Love the car, but display seems glitchy and freezes up sometimes. Have to reset to get it right. Pretty satisfied other than that.
@raywilliams9985 yeah definitely agree with you it is easier on the highway and going down Hills because you don't have to accelerate as hard and yeah I think I was like the first one with the black one as well because when I was doing my research before I got it nobody online had the black one yet so that's why I started making videos about it when I got mine and they just started kind of blowing up
Why don't u use cruise control
I use it all the time
turn on adaptive cruise and you dont got to drive in heavy traffic
Yea I know but you can't put it in EV mode therefore you're still using gas 😫
@@therealjstarr the car will go into EV mode in cruise control.
I do that ALL THE TIME lol but sometimes I wanna save my gad n put that thang in EV lol
Oh really
I’m lost af with the entire ev mode lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I understand
Do you always run it on charge or on auto when do you switch in between and when are you able to use the battery and then viceversa
@Miadriver I normally just keep it on auto bcuz thr car will decide when to use gas and/or battery
You get your longest mileage in the summer months, worse in the winter
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
You be only driving 45 miles an hour not even 65
I be going 80 sometimes just couldn't do it in this video man lol
Just get a tesla model y and avoid this non sense.
Naw not ready for all electric yet I did think about it b4 getting this
Honestly drove the Tesla for a while and I still opted for the hybrid accord, so much better, you practically pay the same shit charging the Tesla as to filling up the accord once a week. Accord on a good driving you can easily get 500 miles full, max I seen is 600
Same opted for the 2023 Accord Hybrid EXL instead of Tesla. I get 600 miles on full tank that costs $32 and 52.6 mpg vs A full charge for Tesla in my area costs $18 to $24 depending on time and for 350 mile. Let’s not forget the 45min to an Hour charge time. Good off that shit
Naw
@@Iamrjayhd na. Not if you have solar at home.
