Got 4 baby Robins currently in my garden, been putting out mealworms and suet for them daily. They're so cute.
Thank you for this video… I have a cat who is now showing interest in a starling nest… He balances on the new fence I put up so he is now closer to the nest opening… I just want them to be safe… I help the parents with live mealworms… I love watching them with beaks full of worms and back to the noisy nest
Nice video - love to see the fledglings begging when they come to my garden.
Thank you, Im really glad you enjoyed it!
1:32 amazing shoot ! The great tit avoiding ohter bird trying to steal her offspring food and the dad coming to defends his family! Wonderful
Such a timely and interesting video Liam. Your study of common birds in the UK is extraordinary and such great viewing.
I learn somethng from every new video - thanks!
Sorry for being boring, but I really did enjoy your video, as always. I love watching videos and learn a lot as well. Thank you for sharing. I meant to say I love your videos and learn from them.
Educational, as always. 👍
The Great Tits in my backyard fled their nest last week and the best way to tell them apart from their parents is, they are much puffier. 😀
Another beautiful beautiful video Liam. Gorgeous birds I love the way the fledglings wings flutter when being fed. I believe they are saying thank you mum and dad. Take care and thank you ❤❤
Very interesting. I have loads of bird books but you always teach me something new.
Thank you! I always learn something new as well whilst making these videos.
Beautiful shots and crystal crystal clear explanations, lovely !
I love garden birds. I remember we had a magpie fledgling stuck in our back garden, we didn't know how to help it so we kept an eye on it until it figured it out.
I love that it's the same season here as there. Spring. Great time for being outdoors. Literally, our starlings are out and eating the suet in a day.
Lovely video Liam, lots of baby starlings in the garden yesterday :)
Lovely video, thank you Liam.
Nice one Liam. For the young Blue Tits and Great Tits it's also worth mentioning that they have something of a lemon-yellow wash to their plumage for a good while after leaving the nest. Colour vision deficiency notwithstanding of course! As for the Robin, I have heard people query whether the brown-mottled ones were the adult female. I soon put them straight though - in the nicest possible way! 👍😉👍 Keep up the good work buddy!
Cheers Graham. Thats a handy extra bit of information about the colouring of young birds. I will keep an eye out for that in the future. Nice work on setting them straight, although I do see how they could think that was the case I suppose. Take care and I hope all is well with you and your wife.
Sweet little birds 🐦. Thanks!
This was brilliant. I was about to research all this and you have wrapped it up nicely for me. The info about the different species fledging is peticularly useful - we see all of the species in the video in our garden. Thanks for this
Wonderful video thanks for sharing this knowledge
Thank you Liam !!!
THANKS LIAM FOR SHARING VERY BEAUTIFUL VLOG.
Thank you for watching! I am glad you enjoyed the video.
In the last couple of weeks I've had a baby siskin joining it's parents, a you chaffinch and a young dunnock. I dread the baby starlings coming because they make a lot of noise chasing their parents round the garden for food which can alert the cats in our neighbour hood and also the sparrow hawk!!!
Fantastic and beautiful thank ✌️👍🤗
Thanks for watching!
@@AShotOfWildlife happy day 👍🙂
Cool 😎 👌video Liam, baby Robins are my favourites… I call them “Robbie Downey Juniors”! 🤣👍
Haha, cheers mate!
I've had a loved up pigeon couple nesting in a tree outside the kitchen window. Never saw the chicks fly the nest and was worried. Now i know when they leave they are virtually the same size as they're parents - I'm reassured. Thanks so much!!
Wonderful, thanks.
Thank you!
Awesome 👍🏻
Lovely video, thank you

Thank you Sean! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I'm lucky enough to live in the middle of the countryside. Wrens are waking me at the minute as I live in a Log Cabin. It's funny trying to figure out what's tapping across my roof .
Very enjoyable Liam .Every day birds they may be but are still fascinating .The parents are amazing and manage to rear the demanding young .I have sparrows each day begging their parent .Crows have not fledged yet but when they do they are like teenage delinquents with their parents ..Great filming and a bit like 74 plus greetings 🙂
Thanks and beautiful birds, Liam
Thank you!
Love this video!
Thank you!
Nice video thank you.
Thank you for watching!
Brilliantly informative Liam
❤ your videos 👍
Saw a fledgling robin just today - thanks Liam, now I know what it was!
Nice video 👍
Thank you!
I can hear young magpies from my garden, saw last year's batch on my lawn, great to see a whole family together.
Perhaps you will be lucky enough to see them on your lawn again this year. Good luck!
Thanks for this Liam. Good, informative video. 😊 👍
Cheers Alan!
Another great video.
I've got blackbirds who have had two broods, wood pigeons and wrens this year in my garden. My cat lies in the garden watching while the blackbirds hop around a couple of feet away without bothering them at all.

Dear Liam hiiiiiii ❤❤❤❤❤❤ thank youuuuuu ❤❤❤❤
Thanks liam our neighbour has a family of Jay's last year 6 young dont think they have pledged yet this year although parents come to our garden for a bit of bread and peanuts ❤
This is another one to revisit; there's a lot of info here for such a short film! Have I the correct spelling of 'gape flanges' here?
Nice one Liam! 🌟👍
How about telling us what the juvenile birds feed on, so we can alter our gardens appropriately?
I've got starlings in the swift box under the eaves. Can hear them when the adults enter the box to feed them
I have them in the eaves here too, the chicks will be fledging any day now by the sound of things.
@@AShotOfWildlife I think mine have just fledged today!
👍
Thanks Liam. I've got Blue Tits on a box on my balcony in north London at the mo. I think their eggs have not yet hatched yet as I've not yet seen them bringing grubs back and that's is 5 to 10 days later than usual. Cold spring?
Cold letter 48
just worked out why my wrens sometimes seem so big, there juvenile robins. i wrote my dissertation about sand lizards, i was not one of the twitchers. i was strictly reptiles amphibians with a bit of a side hustle in butterflys and only British ones
Hay Leam, why are the bumblebees dying? We see so many dead ones on the ground. Any ideas?
Hello. I think it probably depends on the time of year, in the autumn a lot of bees die naturally but at other times they might be dying from disease of sadly, from pesticides.

How many times did you say Gape Flanges before you started giggling? I couldn't get past 5.
Not many lol, it's a difficult set of words for me to pronounce at the best of times.
😮👏👍✌️🥰
I'm seriously worried that no-one is mentioning thrushes! What has happened to our thrushes?
Although Blackbirds are technically Thrushes, species such as the Song thrush have declined by around 50% over the past 50 years unfortunately.
We've already had fledged Great Tits, in *April*! I was astounded. And then our blackbirds have fledged *three* chicks. They're noisy buggers! Although they do finally seem to have gone their separate ways. It's all very early.
Meanwhile the dunnocks and robins are clearly nesting right now, as are the crows, which look ridiculous perched on the fat ball feeder, delicately prising out chunks of suet to take away.
Wow, that is really early for the great tits. I have a nest full of blue tits in the garden at the moment, almost ready to fledge!
@@AShotOfWildlife It is *so* early! All I can think of is that we're giving them plenty of food and they seem to thrive on it. We have blue tits around but I wish we had more.
Robins fledged a fortnight ago here.
Wow, I havent seen any fledgling robins yet... although I did catch my first juvenile blackbirds of the year the other day which was nice.
Unfortunately my cat is a expert at spotting fledglings
Don't get your hopes up Liam.
Human children are still hanging around at 30 years old waiting to be fed by their parents.😂😂😂😂
