I love characters like Alder. Morally grey. Secretive. Has a slight sense of humor, while focused on the job. He's the type of guy that you trust will get the job done that all cost, even if it means killing you along the way
My reaction to 6:40 - When Mason says Adler has been tracking Perseus for 3 decades, he does not mean Adler has been at it for 30 years. What he means is Adler's quest for Perseus spans three decades -the 60s, 70s, 80s. Remember that the Vietnam mission is 1966 and the ultimate mission is in 1981. 60s, 70s, and 80s.
The reason why I loved adler as a character because of how he is presented. Cold blooded, do what ever it takes to complete the mission, only cares about the greater good, kills bell because he is still a threat. The perfect anti hero we have in cod ngl. Before it was soap for me but now Adler is my fav

My guess is that he got it sometime when he was in Vietnam. I always thought it was weird how Adler just randomly tells bell he was living with the memories of nam for a decade until I realized back then he didn't have that scar.
Wow, what a secretive character. When I first saw the trailer of the game and I saw him, I just thought: "Eh, just another new character that Call of Duty is creating to make their series engaging." But he was a genuinely interesting character.

I think the flash backs of Bell using the red door is an amalgamation of real memories that Adler had in Vietnam (calling in an air strike on a village, having fire fights in rice patties, seeing soldiers crucified etc) and fake ones to make Bells experience unique. The red door is just a visual trigger to get Bells subconscious to access parts of his memory that he's omitting. I think a DLC that follows a few of Adler's missions in Vietnam would be cool

I think if they really tried to develop Adler and his relationship with Bell or gave him his own moments, he would be one of the best antagonist in the series.

I think the way they played it, Adler was always suppose to be the hero and we were the bad guy.
They’re both good guys though in America you put agency over comrades so he had to die also they had a great relationship and Adler cared about you the most

Beside the sticky note it has rebirth island, I am going to assume a secret mission Mason had or reznov took his mind and he went awol once more
If North Pine Mall op took place post ending of Cold War storyline, then the planning would've been before Reagan left office. If you recall history, Iran-Contras took place in his last days in office before Bush Sr, leading the storyline to be correct before BO2 took place. Ollie North and Hudson had to track down Mason, so him going off the radar in Alaska (his birth/home state) makes sense.

in the final scene of the canon ending where Adler pulls his gun, bell's hammer is not cocked, and it can be presumed that only Adler fired and bell was killed.

I just recently found out that Bruce Thomas is the voice actor behind Russell Adler. No wonder he sounds A LOT like Master Chief from Halo 4 & 5 and also character/characters from the DC Universe animated films such as Batman and Justice League.

When he told me about his scar, he said while on a mission on Cambodia (or laos, it was either or) a tiger attacked him and he fended it off and got hurt, but got a nice story to tell.
Imagine if stitch was the one who gave Adler the scar, that would be very convenient since stitch lost a eye to Adler then Adler has a scar from stitch

People at first thought Adler was Perseus, but it’s pretty clear from his bio that he is not Perseus. Adler was born in 1937, and the first Perseus activity is in 1943, which would make him six years old by that time
