    That was at the Marksman Pistol Institute in Tucson, AZ. They only allow pistols (and pistol-caliber subguns) and .22LR rifles. Higher-power rifles will damage their backstop.
    Check out the Ben Avery range near Phoenix. It's a world-class facility, and really excellent. Inexpensive, too.
    If you ever find yourself in the Tucson area, drop me a message and I'll be glad to go to one of several ranges around here, teach you to shoot (if you don't know how), and teach you how to maintain an AR.

    Absolutely. Your owner's manual should describe what parts need to be cleaned and maintained on a regular basis. If it doesn't, you have a bad owner's manual. You can get the US Army's field guide for the M16 and follow that, ignoring the parts involving full-auto/burst-fire (as your AR doesn't have those parts, obviously).

    oooh yeah ive heard of ben avery, i think my neighbor goes there, ill try it out thanks
    i have a question about maintaining an AR, should i clean it or lube any parts before/after i shoot it every time?
