With all respect to Bruce, this is a blaze Song.
Nobody is better! Bruce is a tenor and Blaze is a barritone! No comparison between the two of them. Both gave huge contribution to Iron Maiden. Blaze is Iron Maiden! My all time favorite is Bruce, but, Blaze took huge load on his shoulders, since Bruce left the band. It is that much big that it kept Maiden ALIVE! Mark my words.......ALIVE! Without him, there would not be Maiden anymore! So, my fellow metalheads..... show some respect for this man, for he deserves it, big time! Up the Irons and cheers to all of you!

When Bruce left the band, in 1993, I was mad and dissapointed. Like he let me down. The same thing happened when Rob left Priest. I stopped listening to Maiden and Priest. So, I skipped Blaze's work with them, also Ripper's with Priest. And I was constantly comparing Blaze with Bruce, pointing that he is much worst singer. It was like fifteen years ago. I gave him a chance, few years ago and I realized how good he is and how good his "Maiden" songs are. Honestly, it was tough on Blaze, to fit in and sing Bruce's songs with constant comparison with Bruce. Then, I started listening to Blaze's solo abums. Powerful, brutal and honest heavy metal. So, my point is, we should always see good things in others, that is the best way. And to appreciate efforts and acomplishments of those people Cheers!

David Raynor Iron Maiden was already well established band when Blaze came. He did his best, but expectations from him were just too big. Like he was playing a role in the movie not meant for him. I was amazed, when, in one Blaze's interview found out that he actually co-wrote "Blood brothers" and "Dream of mirrors". That he already had plans for future Maiden songs. Unfortunatelly, he did not stay in Maiden, since other guys decided to welcome back Bruce and Adrian. Despite that, no bitter bone in Blaze's body. Personally, I think that it was better for Blaze to start his solo career. Because, it is his foundation, his creation. Something really unique. Just his. No comparisons with others. So he did, some amazing albums. Hopefully, he will make some more. Cheers!
Milos Milosavljevic Well said man. I feel people don't give Blaze the proper respect he deserves. It seems he's mostly hated because he wasn't Bruce Dickinson, and for years, I pretty much refused to listen to any Maiden song that Blaze was on because I took my dad's word that Blaze sucked. Until recently, I downloaded both The X Factor and Virtual XI albums only to have a complete Iron Maiden album collection. I listened to The X Factor and wasn't impressed the first time, and the only song that actually stuck out was Lord of the Flies. I listened to Virtual XI and loved the whole album (although Angel and the Gambler kinda annoyed me with singing "Don't Ya Think I'm a Saviour? Don't You Think I Could Save Ya? Don't You Think I Could Save Your Life" over and over and over and over and over again for a good 3 minutes straight). So I went back to The X Factor, and I like almost every song on the album, except Sign of the Cross. I will always prefer Bruce over Blaze, but Blaze was a pretty good choice by the band and was very underrated. And he has a WAY better attitude than Paul Di'Anno.
I just watched Maiden perform this song with Bruce and while I love Bruce's abilities as a vocalist, I definitely prefer this song when Blaze sings. It was written with him in mind, so yeah, it might sound better! I'm glad he's still out there and making music; his solo stuff is pretty fine and his collaborations with Thomas Zwijsen are outstanding.
Incredible how much Blaze improved over the years. He's clearly superior here than singing for Maiden back in the 90's
He doesn't sing beyond his natural range anymore and doesn't do enormous tours like in IM, so he has more control over his voice.
George he sounds better on this song as well so you can’t just say that

So much better to hear him singing these Maiden songs live. The production on the albums he made with them simply doesn't do him justice. He's obviously not Bruce Dickinson but a damn fine singer all the same. Thanks for sharing this!

I simply love this era in Maiden, so many fantastic songs were written and performed in that particular time.....the interesting thing is that even if this era is underrated you still hear the echo of the Blaze era musically and lyrically....

Fond memories of listening to blaze tear it up on the virtual and x factor albums many years ago and still to this day in 2017. This performance is absolutely stellar. Blaze truly cemented himself in iron Maiden history.
Joshua D I´m a quite new IM fan, so I haven´treally listened to this amazing singer very much, but I must say I really love the Xfactor, and I am actually a deep Blaze fan.....I´ve always thought Bruce was the man for the job, but I´ve changed my mind, some songs should never be sung by Bruce, like this one, or the Virus, those songs is owned by Blaze !!!!

as a deep maiden fan, i love bruce, hes an amazing signer, but Blaze really did well while in the band, gave a different tone to maiden,and kept the band going with great songs like virus, clansman, afraid to shoot strangers to give examples. and songs with his vocal only really sound this good with him. Very good singer

I've always liked Blaze, it's incredible that although he's getting older, he actually manages to IMPROVE, even more on point than he was on the albums back then. If you haven't already, you should check the acoustic versions of some X factor songs he has recorded, they're so beautiful!
His solo career is very solid overall.
Kagari Ginkei to be honest I´ve seen everything that´s available on CZcams with this guy, and you´r absolutely right about the acoustic versions, some are really spellbinding although I miss the punch of electric guitars in some of them....his voice is incredible, dark, intense and extremly passionate, I´m turning into a Blaze fanatic....
