    Great vid, looking forward to the rest of the build. I'd personally like to see a street port first, just to see how the motor behaves with a more "streetable" port setup. And as you said, you can always go full tilt and bridge later, if the want comes

    The reason i mentioned removing the siamese port on the last video is because I saw it mentioned in one of the most recent Mazda patents filings. Intake ports are on one side plate, exhaust is on the opposing plate and has a valve controlled peripheral slot style port also. Maybe a video where you elaborate on your experience with flow balance and related issues might be warranted. After all, if Mazda R&D is looking into it, there might be interesting developments in that direction.

    Great vids and content Kyle.
    I would go with a street port and do all the fancy stuff to the rotors etc.
    Depending on your time and how you want this project to unfold I would love to see what you are doing now NA with complete factory intake etc then switch over to ITB’s to see some results.
    No one has really done testing with ITB ‘s on a renesis before and that’s something I think a lot of people would like to see.
    So power results with factory intake then power with ITB’s.
    👍🏻
    Either way keep on brapping!

    Next time you should try a peripheral port Renesis: peripheral intake, side exhaust. That should be an interesting build and (in theory), you should get that nice "brap brap brap" without unburned fuel spouting out of the exhaust.

    I am sure you'll answer this maybe later on, but if the block is studded like what you did years ago, how much boost do you feel could be used without getting into danger zone?
    Assuming a good tune of course.

  • @aku.aku13
    @aku.aku13 Před 2 lety +1

    very informative video, I'm excited to see where this goes and how you tackle some of the issues I've heard brought up on the forums whenever this configuration is discussed. Almost every "hybrid" build I have seen so far has attempted to either fill the Renesis exhaust ports and semi-PP, or use the Renesis ports as some kind of weird wastegate setup. Can't wait to see how a full flow multiport exhaust setup goes. Do you plan on running F/I or keeping it N/A? A lot of performance issues I read seem to be lessened or solved by Forced Induction.

    • @KyleMohanRacing
      @KyleMohanRacing  Před 2 lety +1

      I would say that I don't really recommend semi peripherals unless it's a 100% drag race motor. I also don't think filling the exhaust side port is a good idea. the principle is to have a 13B with more volume metric flow both on the intake and exhaust and it accomplishes this in street port configuration. I've only done a Turbo set up but it performed very well in a race car.

  • @clearclearerjesus4717
    @clearclearerjesus4717 Před 2 lety

    Hey Kyle!
    I think a bridgeport would be the coolest because you could find out the max Na hp (without going semi pp or pp). But if you are going to build a high rpm rotary why not remove the divider on the secondary ports and make the ports HUGE!? I saw in one your other videos of the fb rx7 that the divider was cut out. You said they capped these engines at around 10k rpm up to 290 hp. And if you were to bridgeport these Monster Ports and with the extra exhaust ports..... It would defenitly be interesting and unorthodox. Very much hotrod style if you ask me ;)
    What are your thoughts on this? Thank you for all your Videos!!

  • @accelerateddiyboards9975

    I know an answer to this question may be on forums but id like your take. I was planning on just getting my apex seal grooves milled down and running goopy 2mm seals with stock ports. Will this have any significant benefit in terms of how much power the engine can handle? Also, I was looking into the idea of meth injection instead of e85 and shooting for 400whp. Thanks.

    I vote for keeping it Street Port. I’m watching this to see how much it can improve a normal, often driven Rx8. If you bridge it, I feel it takes away the drivability. Sure it sounds cool but most cars shouldn’t do it. You can always add it later… Will this be forced induction or N/A?

It's in need of paint and a rebuild (coolant seals went) could i use my 4 port 13B Renasis engine for a hybrid build. Will everything still bolt together the same as the 6 port?because I wanted to buy a 6 speed Automatic from a NC (SJ6A-EL) that was also used for the "Spirit R Rx8 Automatic with paddles" i figured worth it to ask. And a secondary question is can you keep the Sohn oil metering Adapter with the build?
