Alex Pereira Supporting Sean Strickland

- A highly anticipated Middleweight matchup between Alex Pereira and Sean Strickland happened at UFC 276. Many were excited for this bout due to Strickland's critiques of Pereira's kickboxing style and his belief that he could defeat Alex by only striking. Pereira would knockout Strickland in the first round and would later become Middleweight champion. But despite the trash talk from Strickland, there seemed to be a level of respect between the two fighters. A year later Strickland would travel to Pereira's gym to train and learn from Alex what he did wrong in their matchup. After training together the two have showed support for each other's careers publicly. #alexpereira #seanstrickland #shorts #ufc

I remember when Pereira said that part about how Strickland can beat Adesanya and was laughed at by the community. Now here we are 1 week away from Strickland's first bout as a champ lol
It’s kinda spooky, Pereira basically decided to kill off adesanya once and for all by moving up a weight class and not competing with Sean. Adesanya doesn’t get his rebound in a Alex rematch and he falls back down the ladder
I knew had it gone to a decision more than likely sean was gonna win I was rooting for sean
@@jacobcopeland1818well yea Sean was walking all over him the entire fight
@CompaCookies wdym💀 adesanya won their last fight against Pereira why would he fight alex as a rebound fight instead of the guy he actually lost to lmao
@@Backlash00z89he got lucky. Everyone knows Pereira would destroy him now
Its cool that alex didn't try to take credit from Strickland
Even though he improved Sean like crazy Sean even said Alex showed him how shitty his footwork was. Fire friendship
A Real man
He’s a true g for that.
Maybe. Just maybe. He didn’t say it because he didn’t help Sean out the way people think he did.
Thats because all credit goes to Steven Seagal who invented the technique.
"My friend, How are you" 🗿
Where is Connecticut 😵💫
Sean was extremely humble and had humility to learn from a guy that knocked him out.
yes both of them ,very nice guys
Alex makes things look really easy, and fighters learn how good he really is after the fact, Alex is an artist
Lol good. Sean needed to stfu for once and be humbled.
Good to see👍🏼
Sean GOT humbled. He was talking A LOT of shit about Poatan's style and mocking his stance
Alex really embodies everything admirable about sport.
‘Where am I where am I?’ Strickland had only just woken up from the knockout pereira just dragged his body to the airport straight into camp
"you're finally awake"
🗿
It's like those anime where the hero fights a strong opponent, beat them, and now the enemy is on their team.
this made me wheeze, very funny.
Solo leveling type shit
Alex perrier is a solid dude
Yet you still can’t even give him the respect of spelling his name correctly 🤡
@@MilanCz259 thats how uncle Chael says it. Its an inside joke
@@MilanCz259clean Alex meat off when u done w it
@@fxseb7nah he says “pee-era” 😂
Solid??? R u out of ur mind?! Do you even know what u r talking about?!
Alex is a BRICK WALL 🧱
This is why Sean’s champ. He got one tapped by Alex and said “well that sucked!” And immediately started training with him to find the holes in his game. Fast forward a couple months later and even Alex saw the potential in Sean and his ability to beat Izzy. Fast forward to today and we are approximately 24 hours away from Sean’s first title defense.
He should've got the decision
Alex is one of the best fighters the sport ever had. He brought out a whole new Sean we haven’t seen before. The epitome of it’s all about how you comeback from a loss.
@user-mk4or5yu9r The heavier weight classes can take their prime later in their careers. DC, Stipe 2 of the greatest heavyweights won in their 40's. Glover got the strap at 42 or 43.. speed and raw athleticism means so much more in the lighter classes.. plus Alex style alone is built for combat if the opponent has enough ego to stand with him lol.. he just may be hitting his prime in MMA
user-mk4or5yu9rhe did kinda start late compared to normal pros BUT he had a long long career in kickboxing. He was the first 2 division champ in the biggest kickboxing organization in the world (Glory). He only started fighting in MMA in 2012 I think.
user-mk4or5yu9r yea he started at 21
He said he was really good at street brawls..but he only started on a Muay Thai gym in 2009.. he beat all the teachers on first day, so they sent him to a bigger gym to train with the pros
When another monster is willing to let you know what you need to work on its a total game Changer. Respect amongst the elite.
This is the mma bromance that we didn’t know we needed🤣. And didn’t see coming at all.
Strickland is a very humble guy.
Alex was very humbly speaking too, we got some good champs rn
@@Deebo_8yes true warriors
@@Deebo_8very
He’s humbled now, because he got knocked TF out😂😂
Hahaha, youre so fucking hilarious. Humble yourself instead of talking out your ass about someone elses humility.@@Mr.Mike954Qaaqqqqqq
Alex showed his true championship qualities
People don't seem to understand that people can learn. Sean tightened up his form, kept his hands closer to his guard, left himself open much less (almost never), and he learned to hit harder. ❤ bless that man 100%
The only fight he wasn’t cleaned up was the Alex fight honestly. He’s been the least hit fighter in middleweight history for a while
Idk I think he’s style just completely shut Izzy down, not to say he didn’t get better but I feel Alex would beat him in a rematch.
@bakedcrystal915 what!? He didn't get better? Izzy and Alex are like equals, but Alex pulls through a little better when facing Izzy. Don't forget! Alex has never beaten Izzy with pure strategy and left untouched. What Sean did to Izzy was take him to school. Put him on training wheels. The last time Izzy saw Pereira he KOd him!!!!
With that... I do conclude that you must be baked on crystal meth... 😆
@@devinnorsworthy9154 I literally said “not to say he didn’t get better” which means I think he did get better
@@bakedcrystal915 well... I must be baked on crystal then...
If you train with someone who KO you, you must be humble enough to learn and get better like Sean has. Good on him
The subtitles dubbing Adesanya as "a designer" is surprisingly appropriate
Hahaha good catch
This is the real fight game. No hype, no trash talk. Just brothers in arms honing their craft with respect.
Couldn’t agree more. Very few people delve into that dungeon and most that don’t, don’t understand.
'Where am I bro, where am I? Connecticut?' - that's what Strickland thought after that KO in the cage 😁
Sean shows respect to anyone who could whoop him very bad ❤
in martial arts there's no shame in learning from someone who van kick your ass
Stricklands right at that level its all about polishing and staying active dude is constantly having sparring wars with the BEST out there so hes constantly learning polishing and staying active
They are friends connected by soul...
Alex doesn't speak English but when they are together, their energy and their vibe is awesome 👏.
I'm Brazilian by soul and blood and here in Ireland, when I got here before I get speak English I had friends that we use to speak only by signings and few English words...I'm talking about 13 years ago...I got know this vibe...friends by soul and connections as brothers from anothers mothers! Connection forever.
Alex Pereira is a fuckin real one
Alex, Strickland, and dricus are the realest MFs in this sport.
Jiri?
@@abhinavchauhan7864Jiri is a real alien, that's for sure
Dricus ain’t one of the realest as he thought he beat Sean without a doubt in his mind. I bet when he rewatched the fight he was thinking “I did lose that”
@@Hoekim.madafaka he's still a professional fighter whose got some hands. I think he's a solid dude ofc he's gonna say he won because he did that's why he got the belt
I know u ain’t just say dricus 😭
I want a part 2 of Sean training with Pereira, it was very wholesome and helped Sean evolve his game. Also Pereira getting some training in at Xtreme Couture would also be interesting to see,
Did you not watch? Alex flat out said they didn't really train a lot at all, but had a lot of good talks. Pay attention lol
@@andrewjay7962 and Sean said the opposite on his podcast when he was talking to Chris Curtis, what’s your point?
Strickland also clearly improved his movement and checking of kick immediately after training with Pereira, you could just tell that from his performances. Maybe if you paid attention you could tell that.
Master trained a killer to be a more sharper striker
Alex pereira is so good for the sport not just as a fighter 🔥
This is honestly so wholesome
Humildade é tudo!!!❤
Izzy tried to make Hill his version of Poatan’s Strickland.
What Sean learned from Pereira made a huge difference in his career.
That last comment by Alex 🤌🏻
Alex is very humble and respectful person, true champ.
I love that Alex and Sean are friends lol
Your either undefeated or fighting the best
I used to not think Alex was the "REAL DEAL" What a fkn FOOL I was!! This dude is on another fkn PLANET!!
Such a humble dude…
What was the kid he beat the shit outta?
that guy was hardly a kid
That’s a great attitude from both fighters. No conflict between the two, both with open arms welcoming each other. It reminds me of when Yushin Okami lost to Chael Sonnen, and Yushin flying out to Chael’s gym to train and see how he can do better. All that knowledge can be passed down to the next generations, and this is what makes not only this sport evolve but everything else. Continuous improvement.
My two favorite fighters 100% hands down!!!
Two champs...respect
Always look through the lens with humility. Especially if you are fighting at the top level like these people are.
Sean and Alex are such different people and fighters it's funny to see the bromance. And I guess it makes sense that Alex would be so supportive of Sean. No matter how good Sean gets, Alex will only look better by comparison.
Would love to see a run back between these guys now.
Luv these two saun and Pereira are awesome...
Love both of those dudes
most wholesome shit ive ever heard come out of the UFC
That’s what real champs do 💯🤟⚒️“iron sharpens iron.” I believe my fathers exact words were❗️
Alex is so fucking real bro
Great edit!
It’s kind of ironic that in the scene of Strickland greeting Alex and his team the background shows the gloves and his shorts that he used to K.O Strickland
Love Alex. A real man with out of the world 🌎 skills.
Look at Strickland now
Much respect for both here. Takes a reap man to go learn from the guy that beat him
You really do have to love Pereira. I say this as Jamahal Hill's #1 fan.
You're a real one for that, coming from Poatan #1 fan. Chama!
Wow respect to both
Lol, alex and sean wrestling each other is hilarious to think about 😂
Meanwhile Jamahal Hill went to learn from Adesanya and got knocked out
Damm i would love to sparr with Alex pereira and have him tell me what to do to make my fighting styles better and what i need to work on i wish i had the opportunity to sparr with him man really ❤😊 the dude is Amazing!
"At our level. Its all about polish".
Jan Blachowicz: "Polish Power? 🇵🇱"
I swear Portuguese sounds like English played in reverse when Alex speaks it like bruh I be thinking I’m trippin 😭😂😂
Sounds like Spanish and Russian mixed together
@@pigglywiggly5 now I can’t unhear it 🤣 and I just found out I’m a good chunk of Portuguese which makes this even funnier cuz I know 0 Portuguese lol I just hear a Spanish word here and there
@@noahd_beloved1 well, you're not wrong, for us its English that is like in reverse lol. We even learn that in School.
That part about Spanish tho, its more the way latin languages work. A lot of similarities.
@@Tangerin4r that’s interesting bro I never even know they said that. I was just saying what I felt like it sounded personally haha
@ethandumas you 100% are the best content creator for mma, love these short clips
Was also a highlight with that wheel kick ko lol
Real knows real.
Real recognizes real
iron sharpens iron
Can't wait for Adesanya to get it together and comeback. He says he thinks he has couple fights left in him. Love to see Adesamua make one of them strickland.
That’s a true martial artist
All these killers in the ufc are alway so nice it’s very humbling
Everyone is in trouble now that Alex peirera is here in the UFC Thier all his high lights now like Jamal hill just was and it was bad 😂😂😂
Shout out allex. Great guy
Alex is a really cool dude. Didn’t even want to take credit.
That's very cool didn't know about this
"Great hook you got there." 💀
Dude is tall
This is awesome
Bro that’s so crazy I love so close to here
Alex looks like my friend and son in law Malcolm
This is so cool!!!
Steel sharpens Steel
I really like these two, and I like them even more together. I would like to see them both take a few UFC fighters with them and quit the UFC for the PFL and Bellator. I'd like to see Tom Aspinall especially, as the UFC has treated him poorly, buy holding their friendship with Jon above the sport.
Say what you want, I think it would be the right thing to do for the fighters and their pay.
The UFC creates a polished product, but that can be done anywhere. It's the 3d graphic artists, photographers, and film-makers that bring that to the company.
Alex liked Sean and respected him from the get go that is cool to see
I cant even look into alex eyes in a picture. Dude is terrifying
Bro when Strickland landed that punch and knocked Izzy down I jumped up and down like a kid that got an Xbox 360 back in 2007
Re upload for the ogs
If anyone can estimate who can beat Adesanya it's Alex.
He's quite literally came up with Izzy in Kickboxing.
Alex is a class act. Also tho this was so humble by Sean, not many guys would be willing to train with a former opponent who defeated them, let alone KO’d them.
Two of my favorite fighters.... Mighty Mouse also
Helping him win the title 😎
Strickland handled that left better than Jamal
Jay and Silent bob of UFC
Hard not to like the Champ Shawn.
Everyone who watched his last fight knows judges are absolutely ridiculous even Dana said it.
Man who beat Izzy like no one else at hight of his career.
Shawn striking is absolute poetry of violence while Costa is just a clubber with no real technique.
It’s frightening to know Strickland was at Teixerias gym bc its down the road from my house
That left was textbook
Chama!
I really respect Sean, because he is a humble but yet confident warrior! He takes his loses like a man and works harder at his craft! He is one of my top 5 favorite fighters! Him and Fedor ! 🦾🦾🦾
why knockdowns sometimes don't end the fight and the ref lets the ground and pound happen ?
2 chama... 💯
Yo that shot of him and Strickland is crazy. He’s only claiming 6’4 😂? How u gonna make Sean Strickland look small?
Alex infused Sean with the power of the primary opp, and Sean then went on to walk through one of the best strikers in the world in a stand up fight.😂 Adasanya's life would have been so much better if he had just kept his mouth shut about alex
It takes a big man with an in-check ego to train with the man who knocked you out.
