      How much weight is this drone able to lift...?

    • @vdygdb
      @vdygdb Před 3 lety +1

      @@adctex id estimated it could probably carry an extra 300g or so. It weighs 620g itself and the motors seem quite powerful. Ive seen people carry small fpv gear ontop so id probably guess anything under 400. The dji mini can carry 80g so maybe this drone could carry around 240-300. I haven't tested it so these are just assumptions

    Maiden flights today for my Bugs B4W that arrived 18 days earlier than the tracking I was given by the Chinese agent, ordered through Walmart. I was impressed. The darn thing hovers in one exact spot with no drift. Beautiful! I went out to a big baseball field and in no time was doing banked turns etc. Then I sent it up equal to 400 foot and got pretty darn good video and still shots of our Winter wonderland here on the IL/WI Border. Your review combined with a review on another popular channel lead me to this direction and I’m happy.

    First video of yours I’ve watched and you could be one of the directors of the Bugs company the way you easily flowed through that review.
    Apart from the jelo affect the video quality is amazing. That can be fixed in post editing so I’m not concerned with that. Please tell me that haven’t colour corrected this. Also I can see slight angles in the horizon but all and all it’s pretty straight.
    What an amazing drone.
    I had the mavic when it first came out and it flew awesome and had amazing footage apart from it connects being very suspect, phantom pro has dramas with battery. I’m over DJI and have been for a while, they refuse to take responsibility for their craft problems.
    So good this brand has come along and filled a void that was dominated by a incumbent. I can’t wait to get this drone it’s epic.

    Just ordered one of these and doing some background research...GREAT video and much appreciated...Thanks! Couple of questions...When you are flying up and down the road (at incredible speed, couldn't believe it!) is that using FPV on the phone or are you in headless mode just pushing forward and back on the stick? I see you answered to someone else that the wifi range was 2-300 metres so does that mean when you sent it out over the area (at least 1 km) you were flying blind and just used the RTH to get it back? And finally,; are there alligators in those lakes?? Don't think I'd like to live there if so! Thanks again for a top video!

    I just got my Bugs 4w 4k. Had the first flight in a tiny back garden I had it a foot off the ground. But as I pulled down on the Left stick to land it, it wouldn't land and I panicked and it crashed. It's fine but the props would not stop spinning. How do you land it and stop the props please.? I will be taking it to a huge grass field when the weather is better here in the UK and before I fly it out I need to know how to land it and disarm the props. Any advice would be much appreciated. gyro calibration before every flight ?? Manual is a bit shaky at that point….. and what is the best camera setting for the best result ?
    Can' t find any info about the settings in the app…. just wondering. Thanks from a starter !

    • @rx344
      @rx344  Před 4 lety +1

      It automatically attempts to calibrate the gyros each time the aircraft is powered on (so make sure that you power it on while it’s still & flat on the ground). I simply showed the way to manually do it if needed. As for the recommended camera settings, the defaults should work fine…

      @@rx344 Hi, thanks for that feedback. Second flight yesterday and already better. First flight it was difficult to orientate direction of drone (front or back). Camera setting is still a 'thing'. I made a picture of the settings that I meant, but can't see to place a picture in here…… it's on the app, under 'settings' then followed by the parameter settings, detection, flight data and last; there it is camera settings. choice of 1080p, 2K or 4K but apparently there is not setting to choose ?? If it is…. how ?? Hope you know the answer…..cheers in advance

    • @rx344
      @rx344  Před 4 lety +1

      Glad you are getting the hang of the drone... I see what you mean, the resolution settings don’t seem to allow you to pick a certain one… Maybe it’s a bug that may get resolved in an upcoming update? I know that this drone was designed to specifically shoot in 2K, so I’m not sure why it even offers a 4K option within the app… You can always use another app or program to convert its native 2K output to something else (like say 1080p). Maybe the app is just showing those options because it’s the same app used by other MJX drones that have those resolutions? I’m not quite sure myself…

    Great review. I am a newbie and bought standard hubsan h501s drone but it fell from the sky for no reason on full power. I saved again and bought h501s advanced with better controller. Would you say the Bugs 4 is better than the h501s? To be fair I am getting right into my new hobby so would save for a second quad, possibly this one.

    • @rx344
      @rx344  Před 4 lety +2

      Well this has the following features over a Hubsan H501S:
      * Foldable
      * 2K camera
      * Remote tilting camera
      * Optical Flow positioning
      * Ultra Sonic sensor positioning
      * GLONASS
      The main thing a Hubsan might have over this is the inclusion of a 5.8 Ghz screen.

      Thank you so much for that great reply. I am now going to save for a Bugs 4. I would love to be able to buy one right away, but on a very tight budget due to only one working and supporting my wife and Son, so will definitely save for one. I also take it the GLONASS is that more powerful satellite type system designed by Russia?

    • @rx344
      @rx344  Před 4 lety +1

      Great, goodluck. Yes, GLONASS is the Russian satellite navigation system. Drones that feature both GPS and GLONASS tend to acquire satellite connectivity faster & even indoors when compared to just GPS drones, so the end result is mainly that they are ready for take-off (with return-to-home set) right away, making for a smoother, more seamless flight experience.

    Your review is one of the best I've seen, very detailed and helpful, thank you. I've seen several videos that show the RTH function. I have also read a PDF of the manual.... In the videos, the drone ascends when RTH is triggered, weather automatically or by the user, flies back to over the take-off location, and descends, lands, and powers off. Can you tell me what the default altitude is and is it user adjustable? Neither the videos, nor the manual make mention of this !!!! Thanks.

    • @rx344
      @rx344  Před 4 lety +2

      Thanks, what I can tell you is that within the app’s (Bugs Go) settings, you can set the overall maximum altitude of the drone in general (not just for return-to-home). So, for instance, if you set it to 40 m, it will never go past that height at all (during normal flight & return-to-home). Hope this info helps...

      @@driewiel Thank you for this. OnePaa X2000 look like a very good camera. But what I first of all is looking for is a micro 2 axis gimbal. It would be perfect if I could mount such a lightweight gimbal on any drone that could carry it + a slightly lightweight camera.

    Following this thread. I recently purchased an X21 from Bayangtoys for my paranormal group as it'll support our modified GoPro cam for night vision and full spectrum use, but found I need to get a standalone wifi fpv action cam for regular use for it as the stock one sucks the battery life down... That being said I really want to invest in a folding drone in the $300 to $350USD range with a gimbal for personal use and rail fanning. I'm torn between this, the F11 Pro, the X11, the zino, or the c-fly obtain (tho I've seen a ton of mixed reviews, none current however or any revisits with updated firmware), or the fimi x8 se(again mixed reviews). Would love to hear others input.

    A question I have: It is shockingly similar in appearance to the SJRC F11, but does it have the F11's kind of annoying feature of "Power low, override controls to fly closer to takeoff point"
    I like knowing when im low on power, but i do NOT like how it instantly limits itself to a 30m range and trys to fly back to its original location leading to all kinds of havok.
    My F11 recently had a fatal malfunction and its being sent back for a refund and i'm now eyeballing this as its replacement.
    Another thing: The F11 had a 25 minute battery, while this one lists it as 20
    My rule of thumb thus far has been: If it says 25, its 20, if it says 20, its 15, where would this drone fall on this spectrum?
    Also do you know if they sell extra batteries? I'm always one for keeping spare parts and having the ability to buy extra bits in the event somthing breaks.

    • @LtBlackDog

      A comment made as well: What is electronic stabilization in terms of drones?

    • @rx344
      @rx344  Před 4 lety

      This one will mainly return-to-home if it either loses connection with the remote or is critically low on power, aside from that, it will not do a close range flight phase prior to the return phase... A good thing about this one is that it has out of range and low power alarms (or beeps) on the controller which will indicate when the drone is low on battery or is too far from the remote. As for the 20 minute flight time, it’s actually very accurate, so in worst case, it might be a minute or two short. Lastly, they do sell extra batteries for this and they even have sets that come with the drone along with two batteries...

    • @rx344
      @rx344  Před 4 lety

      The electronic stabilization is that the camera internally (or electronically) stabilizes the recorded video footage so that it’s less shaky and bumpy…

      Well, my Bugs B4W only gets 175m of FPV range, then the screen will lock up and you have to bring it home and reset the app. If you happen to be recording video at the same time you loose FPV feed that wholed footage becomes unuseable.Not impressed with the range of 5.8ghz. I have tried it with iphone 6, Samsung A50, and ipad mini 1st gen. I was hoping the FPV range of the Hubsan Zino was better because it is plugged in to the controler and the tranmisson of 5.8ghz is done through the controler and not just the smart device. Just some of my experiences, and I value your thoughts or anyone elses.
