Some of you were wondering about those paintings behind me, besides the near-priceless piece I did in the frame, the figure paintings were done by my friend Ritsuko, see more of her stuff here: instagram.com/ritsukoart/ (Say hi to her from me!)
hi Jackson
Peter Draws hey 🅱eter
Can you make video where you talk about art of your subscribers
can i hug you?
However, Duchamp was not known as its creator (though most suspected him to be). Instead, as Alfred Stieglitz wrote “A young woman sent a large porcelain urinal on a pedestal to the Independent(s).”
Duchamp never identified his ‘collaborator’ - if indeed there was one - but the young woman of Stieglitz's description has variously been identified as either Baroness Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven, an eccentric German poet and artist who loved (but who was jealous of) Duchamp; or Louise Norton, who contributed an essay to (the art and Dada journal) The Blind Man discussing Fountain.
peter gives me "that crazy art professor" vibes. he should be an art professor.
Technicaly he is
Doubt he'd like it, he would go full madame butterfly (do a good job and then commit sudoku while everyone cheers for him)
Please no
My high school art teacher was a neighbor and he had a voice very similar to steve-o. He was pretty crazy but his classes were enjoyable and he would let you talk as much as you wanted as long as you payed attention when you needed to.
@@pcrana1 "commit sudoku" lmao
32:01 "It's a good painting, and I hate it." - Peter Draws
Jason Bovée yeah that killed me. Also, "this painting makes me angry".
Jason Bovée I believe we all need a Peter Draws book of quotes.
Cezanne makes me angry too! I don't know why!!! Ugh! I could vomit! hahaha. Especially that one with the oranges... ugh...Why!?!?! lol
Lol
@@ninasue5948 thats the power of art! a lot of people don't realise that if art makes you angry, it's doing its job - its evoking some powerful response in you
“Some people pour themselves into the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, but he poured himself into this boring black square”
I dont know if dear Peter has any idea how insightful that statement was. Perhaps he does. I dont know but i hang on every word he says
Yeah the fact that someone devoted their life/career to painting a plain squares and even went to prison for it makes it special on its own
@@TomTomTomTom538 but is it good art or just a throw away pallet for making a real painting
I used to not admire paintings, I don't draw...I'd like to though..But you..Your entertaining twist on your videos got me interested. I started this video thinking "Oh it's way too long, I'll just watch a little so I'll get bored and sleep afterwards" , but I watched and enjoyed the whole thing. Got Inspired to visit an art museum which I've never done before. I like you Peter. I like your magical positive influence. Just wanted to let you know.
CaMeLyINN did you visit that museum ? :)
Awesome.
I was recommended only one of Peter’s videos and it didn’t take more than one more video to subscribe. He’s a very eccentric and vivid person that definitely stands out!
YOUR PFP IS FUCKING ADORABLE
even though this is 2 years old, it made me really happy. Even though this is 2 years old, it made me really happy. I'm a young man who has grown up with museums and art galleries. I always hear people say things like: why would you do that, that's boring or why is this worth so much?
Those people haven't just gone and sat down in front of a painting and just look at it for an hour. Even the most simple paintings show deepness.
Like the typical colored box in the middle of the screen itself might not look interesting but if you stare enough at something you start to wander around in your thoughts and think of other things. With a color filter being that color and giving you another representation of the world. Paintings for me personally is time.
Please keep going to the art museums and when you get older you can show your children the depth of them and make them understand the deepness that is life.
peters smile when he paused and wen "i dont remember what a french accent sounds like" made me giggle
If this comment gets 10 likes,
Forget about 10, what happens when it gets 20?
you'll get an art barn!
then i wil burn a the moma
thewiseturtle The Earth is flat and the sun revolves around us.
Peter Draws more thoughts please.
Peter, I love your weird ass wonderful personality
There is 100% chance he has eaten psychedelics at some point in his life
@Nadav Guy ? Weird isn’t a negative thing all the time.
You are basically doing stand up for artsy folks
I keep laughing about “maybe this guy’s a genius, I don’t know”.
I am offended that you showed the black square upside down
Vishal Namani But you seem to like stuff reversed (I love One Punch Man, though)
Vishal Namani , what I fail to comprehend, ( having painted a very little myself), is how he managed to paint it so the edges were perfectly straight. I say this because I've tried to do it and even when I cheated by taping off the edges, the edges were still not perfectly straight!
Helen Nelson, he could have used something like painter's tape to make exact edges, and then removed the tape afterward to create a perfectly straight edge. That's what I would do at least :)
🤣🤣🤣😂🤣🤣
🤣🤣👍👍
"This dude probably had an art barn." I literally laughed out loud... and I needed a laugh.
What happens when he leaves the barn door open? And could he paint the broad side?
No matter what happens around me,peter draws will always make me feel calm
Your voice is modern art Peter
Well most modern art is shit so that is pretty rude
I talk abou the GOOD modern art :3
Tricks on you there isn't any good modern art
I know right i love his voice his voice is so good & odd its like hes painting with his words
Wallofcorn What a naïve sentiment.
My favourite moments in life are the moments when I hear "I don't know how it works, but it does".
There is nothing more satisfying and relieving as that. It's simple, you know it works. You don't need to know anything else nor does your mind even try to solve the puzzle. It just is.
Art aside I wish I could look at something functioning and not care how it works. This applies especially to old complex machinery that is purely mechanical. It fascinates me to think of the process and how whoever made it from a vision alone.
I was 16 on my first day at the art school I got accepted to, and that first day as the awkward kid I was, I looked through the books and found Egon Schiele. 10 years later and he's still my favourite artist. He could make a perfect drawing or painting of the human body, and he chose to make it imperfect and gnarly and knobbly from bones and fat. I just love that sort of beauty in the things that we view as imperfect in the human body. His colour theory was on point as well.
Wonderful to find another Schiele admirer.
Oh I think he sucks 🤷♂️
1. Peter would be the best Art Farmer in his Art Barn and 2. imagine it being 100 years in the future and people are still arguing about a fight you started over a urinal
The boy with the red balloon! Love that piece
EkoHeightsBand Best piece of all! But it should be more expensive tho
Nöj Bierh only one million dollars
Kai Jackson yes only
Kai Jackson ok mister Gates yourbill will come out to $2 million dollars
I was distracted by the piece above that one..
I think Marcel was just trolling the other members and also those people who say "everything can be art", with this piece Marcel was saying to them like "oh yea well how you like these apples", but people ended up actually liking those apples and Marcel was like "omg rly.. wtf u can't be serious", that's my personal interpretation
Probably. He was a conman like all artists. Don’t feel bad for the rubes though, as the only reason they buy art at all is for money laundering.
The way you stutter.. The way you articulate certain words.. Or.. The way you change the way you want do say or describe something in the middle of a sentence... I absolutely love your "rough finish" personality... So down to earth and... Enjoyable...Never change..
25:00 "Rich person pinterest patterns" is possibly the best description I've ever heard of that piece lol
"Why is everything all boring colored?" That look, right at 23:48, was heartbreaking. I feel you.
This whole video, though, is lovely and thought-provoking. Thank you!
Aren't boring colours nice? Soothing, calming, easy on the easy and non-distracting. And anyway how's a colour boring?
Spencer Devlin Howard the gold are you guys kidding 😕, gold is a beautiful substance and his paintings are gorgouse to look at especially when seeing it close 😁.
Justin S you obviously didn’t hear what Peter said. He didn’t call the gold in the painting boring, he went on a spiel about how green carpets aren’t in style anymore.
Spencer Devlin Howard That look was painful
if you were my art teacher i would be exited to go to school
Kasimir Malevich's "Black Square" is what inspired me to start painting and I say that not ironically.
It’s so bad that it gives even the most inept and talentless artist hope 😂
“Any of these would be the perfect color for a shower curtain”
I actually learned a lot about the creative process with the Black Square painting. It is actually quite liberating when you think about it. And what I learned is this: "Who cares about what others think of your finished work (art music, poem, etc.). What matters is what you want your finished art to be. You like drawing black squares, so be it!". The other thing I learned is this: If your find yourself over thinking your final product, remember, someone out there is drawing black squares, and still others are loving the black squares he is drawing! So, now go make art! Or poems, or music, or whatever!
Man, I’ve gotta admire how peaceful and considerate you seem
2:26... you ok there buddy? Should I..call an ambulance?
Honestly peter i've been watching you for a while and you've helped me accept myself as an artist and as a little wierd TY it benefits me greatly
"Rich people's pintrest backgrounds" I could listen to you talk all day, I swear.
been waiting for this
zoznoob sameee
Samee!!
Me too!!!!!!
I watched you have like 7 epiphanies throughout this video
Terrific! I just love his stream of thought. I laughed out loud several times. Can't wait for his next one.
This guys personality is way more artistic than half the paintings he reviews.
''It's a good painting... and I hate it''
this is why I love you Peter
If you listen to Duchamp talk about his works, he says his found objects were chosen precisely because they didn't have any real aesthetic value. He doesn't want you to think they are nice to look at precisely because he wants to challenge your understanding of what constitutes art. He admits, though, that over time they kind of grew on him anyways. I really enjoyed this video. Good stuff.
It looks kind of interesting because it's old now. It doesn't look like any urinal I've ever seen. Any random object you choose to try to be boring will become more interesting with time, as it gets older and less commonplace. An old phone is interesting now.
This was so exhaustive and extremely insightful. I agreed with you on some points and disagreed with you on others, but that's the nature of the beast where art analysis is concerned, I suppose. Thank you. You made me think.
GKOALA7 right on,,
I agree that there’s no disputing about matters of taste,as the Latin quote sez
finally !!!!!! been waiting for this for a while. your first episode of this is what made me subscribe. good work dude
I'm so happy to see 2nd episode of this! Also, I'm glad you include a bit of background history on each painting and sharing your opinions on the artworks. It made me learn something new about these pieces. :D
Peter sounds like a very honest but supportive father looking at his children’s art. The time and effort just to criticize each one amazes me. Lovely work Peter.
Peter goes full rage
I am so glad you've decided to continue this series, Peter. The first one was the video that made me subscribe to your channel. Awesome! :^)
I've been waiting for this for so long! What I think about art was the first video I saw of yours
when he said " and a thermostat over here" i lost it. peter is just too good
What I Think About Art: Tattoo Edition!!!!!!!!!!
OŻA yes yes yes yes plZ
OŻA dig the g.g. allin avatar
Eyy I had a dream about that guy he looks like my math teacher
Really unsure if that's a painting of a naked lady on Peter's wall.
But I dig it.
Anna Smith she has like a white lace shirt on or something
that one is more interesting than all the featured paintings.
Mell I believe she does but it's unbuttoned. Hard to tell.
Anna Smith Actually, there's two. 5:50.
I love you Peter, I hope you're feeling better. Happy to see this video finally.
Dude, I want you to be my art history professor. I love how eloquently you waxed on the black square without knowing why you liked it haha! Plus, your manner of speech is comical and soothing af.
I love how you have your drawing from the "how to make expensive art" video in the background.
great vid peter. my life is pretty complicated so I would appreciate more videos of your opinions with which I can agree.
Your energy is delectable Peter. Thanks.
nice shirt Pete!! i loved your take on every single piece💕
Malevich created that painting to showcase in the same piece the paradox between how little and how much was needed for a painting to be created. It was completely revolutionary because it was the first piece of modern art.
Fabrizio it was a bunch of bullshit.
----The art piece with the girl in the gold dress with the eye on her leg speculation ---- I think it shows how people stare at women, the common eye is on the leg, and the girls face is very tired and feed up with people looking at her legs
I suck at writing but maybe someone will get me
Jacob Wingrove I like that
I think she likes gold and eyeballs
I waited for this for so long. Thank you, mate.
Yay! I just re-watched the first one last night and was hoping you would do another!
When there's a woman on a painting, peter likes the background :')
Ngl the woman on that painting kinda looks like a man
ive been waiting so long for this
Peter I love the way you present even the most boring art pieces and to be honest I've never had any relationship to art whatsoever. I've designed a vault in a game but it was all symmetric and in order. What you would expect. But your doodling style art caught me and I find myself looking at art in another way. You clearly changed something in me in a good way. Thank you so much for your quality videos. Subbed :)
This and your stippling art are my favorite videos!
Oh man Peter, I really appreciate your causal nature. You seem like an awesome guy to sit down with and share a beer with. Thanks for being you brother.
I love your videos Peter!
As if by magic, an artist appears!
I loved it all, but those opening 3 seconds elevated it from good to awesome.
Peter...I think I’m in love with your channel. 😂❤️🙌🏾 You’re so much fun!
33:50 reminds me of the piece of paper that I put underneath my drawings to protect the table surface from getting ink or paint on it...
💡 I never realized what an excellent modern artist I am! Lmao...
you know you're doing something right , if your art piece lands you in jail . like the judge says '' ah yes this mustn't go unpunished!"
this is so perfect because the first part was actually the first video I ever saw from you^^
The first one of these was what made me finally decide to subscribe. So glad to finally see a second one.
Thats a cool shirt, my dude.
thx
np :)
Modern art is the emperor's new clothes of the elite.
Yessss. I love this, keep up this lil series please!
these are my favorite videos of yours to watch, please make more I love them ❤💕
"Hey guys Scarce here.." 0:00
i feel like your videos are almost TAILORED towards the enlightened state of mind after consuming a certain plant.
edit: lmfao either you or the soviets have the painting (black square) upside down
edit edit: lmfao im so high that i didnt even notice the subtitles but atleast i noticed that it was turned the wrong way
I didn't think you would make another one! I'm really glad this exists
I've been waiting so long for this! The original was the reason I started watching you!!
He reminds me so much about Jimmy's dad from Jimmy Neutron.
Stefan S the way he throws his head around I can see it
she is holding a fan
Your appreciation of modern art is not dissimilar to mine. Love this video, liked before it was over.
Yes I have been waiting for this forever! The first episode was the reason why I subscribed!
I find the irony of enjoying the green carpet after dissing the green face, why does everything have to be beige?
the first one got roasted
I love your facial expressions, body expressions! XD You pouring your whole soul into trying to understand the paintings and the whole concept behind them. It was awesome! XD Thanks Peter for making me think and be inspired! ^^
Loved hearing you talk about egos schiele. He's probably my favorite artist :)
This is especially good when you're french.
banane kiparl le chat vert mange du fromage
Psyklops The green cat ate cheese? I learn french in school because im canadian.
Nice im just learning for fun and my vocabulary that i can quickly recall is very limited lol
That's funny, I always wanted to live in Canada
J'avoue!
Great video. How about another revelation? The woman with the hat is holding a fan.
I am rewatching all of these bc they’re relaxing, the one thing is where Peter doesn’t really like many of the paintings. I do. I like them, but I like Peter telling me not to worry if I don’t have all the background on them. Peter says just enjoy art, he lets us relax.
I really enjoy your videos, and I genuinely adore these. especially what you have to say about Malevich. Thank you for that!
Pe(ter)Casso has arrived once again 🔥💕
its spelled picasso not pecasso
Woah... this is the first time I'm early
I'm so happy you did another episode of this!
I love these... Reminds me of my last semester. I took Art history II class and you sound just like my professor. Don't stop making these!
I think the First one its a Fan on the bottom
Is it just me, or is Peter attractive? Even the slightest bit? XD
I think it's the personality
Magzle Bea really guys?!
Magzle Bea Peter is the epitome of beauty. The Vitruvian Man. The Adonis.
The MajesticMagpie you're not alone
The MajesticMagpie
He'd look so cute with a beanie on with those thick framed glasses. ...is that too hipsterish tho?
I feel like you are alive Peter, living in the moment. So intensely giving it your all and I love it! Big thumbs up! ^^
the timing of your words is slightly askew in an utterly satisfying way
hey, you dont look like Woody Allen anymore
Knock every single thing over and call it art?!?! Shit. Cats have been trying to enlighten us for years. =o_o=
OMG!!! I just found this video, I'm so happy to find you when you first started out Peter!!!! AWESOME!!!!!!
WOW, what a comedian! I've laughed through #1 and #2 art critiques more than I've laughed in a very long time. Peter not only are you a drawing genius but you are stand alone as a variety show guest/talent. Don't stop, please.
