I brought a 2022 Chevy Trailblazer RS Metallic Black in Dec. 2021. My wife primarily drives it and we love it. We've found the 3 cylinder turbo surprisingly peppy. We've taken it on one trip and
Was a great ride and really great gas mileage. Very satisfied so far and thank you so much for reviewing this vehicle.
Looking at the trailblazer as well just curious how do the seats hold up for longer road trips?
Love this format. Evie at the wheel provides driving impressions. Micah interviews, gives technical info, and tries to sneak saucy bits by Sensi and Innuendolguana. Little Sweetie does exactly what she does best.
For something so small and underpowered I feel like the fuel economy is disappointing. Would much rather get something a bit larger and quicker and get the same mileage.
That's how I feel now. I love small cars, suvs, etc, but I have a hybrid Tucson that gets the same, usually better mpgs vs a smaller vehicle.
I love how this whole family is involved with reviews of vehicles. Speaking from a family point of view, would a review of the Audi A4 Allroad be something that could be done maybe in the near future? I'm more of a sedan/wagon guy and not too fond of crossovers or SUVs. Again, love how the family can voice their own opinions of what they like, don't like, could use more of and such. Keep the videos coming, the family reviews are very helpful in helping me think of my next possible vehicle as I prepare to have twins next Spring.
I bought a 2021 RS AWS Trailblazer and I have to say I love it. They hit the nail on the head with roominess, fold down seats really do create a lot of room to haul big items. Smooth ride & nice bells and whistles for the money. Very happy with it.
My mind still can't wrap around the fact that the trail blazer is SMALL. I grew up seeing a larger version
I’ve been waiting for this review for awhile
Bought a 2021 lt version. I appsolutely love it. Perfect on gas mileage. Yes it has a lot of room. We have a newborn coming. And it's seemingly difficult to fit 3 car seats in it. Not a complaint just a FYI for others to learn from
Looking into getting one soon! This was such a fun video! 😊
I don't know why GM even bothers with the 1.2 in the Trailblazer and Encore GX. Almost none are equipped with it anyway. There's one draw for me with the Chevy - there's a dealer in my small town. After owning three cars in the last 20 years that required me to drive either 30 miles or 65 miles for warranty service I want something local even if the vehicle isn't my first choice. Oh, and uptalk galore here.😄
Not in the market for a Trail Blazer but love watching these videos.....by the end, I was almost ready to order one 😁👍
Don't.
I love all your vids so much! You and your wife are hilliarious and remind me of my midwestern family! Love you guys so much! Keep up these great reviews! I Love the vids you do with Kelly Blue Book as well bro bro!!!! 😍😍👌
I’m in the market for just such a vehicle and so far none of the others give me the driving feeling that the trailblazer does. I’m willing to wait. To acquire a 2023 RS with that big sunroof set up. In that crazy blue color. I love it !
I hear good things. It’s a big car for a 3cyl but is still zippy
You two are great to watch 😊 Thank you for posting love my Activ
How’s the ride quality? Is it bunny? Is the Activ better than the other trims for smoothness?
These are very sensible little cars- no wonder I see so many Trailblazers and Encore GX’s driving around!
Can't wait to see what y'all say about the Equinox RS, I plan on picking up one soon
I second that, digging the nitro yellow and white roof! I'm surprised its stiff even in the Active trim with the extra sidewall. I wonder if the RS is even stiffer, hmmm...
I just bought one. I love it.
For the $50 it takes GM to add the SD and AUX, I think it is worth it. I mostly listen via an SD card - even though it is not the most convenient for updating my music playlist.
This car is good for those who love to sleep in their car as the front seat falls flat, no need for modification to fit a narrow mattress. 👍
Nice review. Does it have the auto hold feature??
Fantastic video!
I’m with Evie, the Yellow and White exterior looks sweet.
So glad you’re reviewing this car because I like the way it looks. It reminds me of a Volvo XC40, but I don’t think I would ever purchase one based on GM’s reliability, but it is an enticing option. I’ve seen a couple out on the street and they look good!
I would say GM’s reputation of unreliability is all but past them, All their vehicles i’ve owned from them have been nothing but rock solid. 2007 Pontiac Torrent I drove until 247k miles then the transmission (which was made by Toyota failed), next I got a 2007 Buick Lucerne and it has over 200k and my family still drives it to this day. My dads friend has a 2010 Silverado with 375k and although it is falling apart inside and out, it still starts every time. Finally my last car I owned from GM was my 2013 Buick Encore which I put 160k on until I was hit by an F-150. I walked away from that crash and was not even sore the next day, the Buick handled the crash like a tank… I don’t have a car right now since I moved to a very walkable city, but I will 100% buy another GM when the time comes.
@@marco.morel04 Thank you. Maybe that’s what I need to do too. Move to a city where I can just walk around more.
Consumer Reports is showing better than average reliability for the Trailblazer
I've had GM for almost 40 years, never had a reliability problem. 409,000 miles on my Silverado, 6.0. 300,000 on a Monte Carlo. All the Tahoes have been phenomenal. I believe the biggest problem is always the same problem, people don't take care of their vehicles by doing proper maintenance.
I had fun watching this!
I just got a 2023 activ. It was a trade down for financial reasons so it's a bit of a bitter pill but the little guy is growing on me. It isn't fast.... at all. But for what it is it looks nice and does its job well.
Got the same one a few months ago and I love it!
Do you know if its good or bad on bumpy roads? And would you say the acceleration is a bit lacking? I'm looking into getting one and i'm a bit worried about that.
@@alyssawebber1400 have a ton of bumpy roads here in Louisiana and I have had no problems with my car and the roads especially the bumpy ones. Acceleration has not been an issue either with me. I have put it on sport mode and it’s been taking off like a bat out of hell for me.
You always wear those cool Tshirts?! Where do you find them?
Alright. There's something I gotta know. Where do you get your T-Shirts?? I've seen you model so many that I'd like to get myself.
Surprised you didn't add the Jeep Renegade to the comparison list. Same size engine, 1.3L Turbo, AWD, 9 Speed A/T...they're essentially as direct competitors as they come.
정말 좋은차 입니다. 특히 고속 안정성, 주행감은 소형 suv 중 적수가 없어보입니다.
Beautiful Family
Great Review
Wonderful CUV
Much appreciated, Marshall!
Resale value vs the competition would be my only concern. Ok maybe a Mazda cx30 with 2.5l NA engine or Honda HRV with 2.0 NA would pack more long term reliability.
Where is this mountain road that you are driving? If this Trailblazer is good with curves then it is definitely a buy.
Just so you know. The Activ V actually has Skid Plates. Althou the Skid Plates are for Off Road. They also are great if you get caught on Bad Streets or a poorly maintained Railroad Crossing
What area do you live? That literally in a near term dream of mine to live in an area like that. Damn it’s beautiful
The mini-motors are interesting, especially having grown up with Oldsmobiles in the 1960's, but if they survive, grerat! The rest of the car looks good too, considering its price range. And it comes equiped with an ergonomically designed HVAC system as well as a nicely laid out infotainment setup- good job GM. CVT vs a 9 speed, also interesting. I've only driven a CVT once, but I suspect the manufacturers are sabotaging them. A CVT setup to maximize acceleration AND fuel economy should result in an engine RPM pattern far different than that of a regular transmission-buyers need to just get used to this. Instead there seems to be an attempt to make CVT operation mimic regular shifting. This defeats the whole operational advantage of a CVT!
The CVT in the Trailblazer will only mimic shifts if you do full throttle acceleration. If you do half throttle, for example, and say the revs are around 3-4k RPMs, it doesn't seem to fake shift and will hold those revs until you let off. I have a FWD Encore GX with the 1.3L/CVT combo, and I have no complaints.
@@henryd1981 Interesting- thanks for the update.
The SD Card slot is for the NAV. It’s not for music storage.
That is an excellent note. Thanks for mentioning it!
@1:55 Kido reacts to the belt line: a little too high for her!
Taking Micah in the back should be a new segment 🦎😆
Saving that one for OnlyFans.
Is "Taking Micah in the Back Seat" going to be a new (lightly censored) segment?
Just once in his reviews, I wish he would test a lower trim version, but NO it is always the top of the line version. We are out there whether you realize it or not some cannot afford a top trim. But we would still like to know what the one we can afford would be like.
I love when lower trims are offered to test but car makers rarely make them available. We can only test what's available.
I just bought the 2023 Chevy Trailblazer but I wanted the FWD so I can tow behind our motorhome on a two dolly.
Fog lights are the new headlights
I might just be an old man here, and influenced by men even older than me but has the long term Chevy build quality improved at all? I just remembered them for needing a lot of work and a lot of poor interior fittings and quality, especially long-term with most of their model line not holding up well overtime at all. I know that's not really something a person with a press car is probably going to talk about much but I feel for myself at least is important information before my next new vehicle purchase.
Well, this one's made by GM Korea so maybe the build quality is better than US or Mexico made ones.
When we leased a 2019 Equinox, I can say no. The quality was appalling. 11k on it and it was in the shop 3 times for different issues.
Thankfully it doesn't have the 1.4L turbo engine. Between having worked at an auto parts store and currently at a dealer, I can think of multiple times@both places when I said "wow, but this isn't even that old" in reference to that engine in different applications. There seemed to be valve cover gasket issues/pcv clogging.
@@TheSteezyE It had 11k on it, yes the proper maintenance was done. We had never had that many issues with any other vehicle we had, even used cars.
My coworker has a 2019 Equinox and has had nothing but problems as well.
She's going to trade it in on the newly designed CRV. When it becomes available.
I only crave icecream in the winter
So all of its competitors come with bigger non turbo engines and get the same or better mpg. What’s the point of having such a tiny engine? From a cheap transportation standpoint, NA is always going to be better than turbo and the downsizing clearly isn’t helpig
I ate ice cream whilst viewing glaciers in Glacier Bay. Does that count?
I don't foresee these holding up over time. GM is not really known to make reliable little engines lately.
It’s Korean made car - GM has little to do with it.
💯 % agree.
Its not a Chevy, its a Daewoo imported and slapped a Chevy badge on it. 0% domestic parts content. Consumer Reports gave it high marks for reliability.
@@BoopSnoot Daewoo no longer exists, GM bought them out and rebranded as GM Korea.
@@aamitche1 doesn't mean they started using US designed parts
I’m skeptical of these 3 cylinder turbo engines but Toyota is using one in the new GR Corolla. Another CZcamsr mentioned that 3 cylinder turbo engines have an advantage over 4 cylinder engines related to the lighter weight and maybe scavenging?
Scotty Kilmer speaks highly of them.
Hoping you guys are safe from the Radford Fire. Do you guys live close to the fire?
We're safe. Thanks for your concern!!
While I've never liked American vehicles. I can certainly appreciate the fact that, stand alone items or packaged are NOT that expensive, vs my favorite European counterparts.
While the poor sloth ridden missing quality control on almost European cars destroys the Soul . I must admit the high cost of endless repairs an low resale value does redeem them some .
I like this car
I just don't understand who's buying these over a Crosstrek, CX-30, HRV, or Corolla Cross or even a Kia Niro or Hyundai Kona.
Atleast the TrailBlazer is named appropriately unlike the Blazer that isn’t a Blazer.
Nah, it isn't. The last trailblazers were much bigger than this, RWD with an i6 or a V8, and 4WD.
WELL THE WAY THE ENGINE GASKETS HOLD UP AND TIMING CHAIN COMPONENTS FAIL , I ‘LL STICK WITH MY 02 TRAILBLAZER WITH THE 4.2 L IN - LINE 6 230 K AND STILL TICKING !!!! I DID DRIVE THE 2014 BLAZER AND IT HAD THE 3.6 L V- 6 NICE RUNNER WITH THE 20 “ WHEELS , BUT AT A 60 K INTRO PRICE AND THE HOMEWORK INFO ABOUT THOSE TIMING CHAINS , 4 K TO REPLACE NOPE ITS REAL ESTATE 🏡 TIME !!!!
No 4 cylinder engine? I'm out. On a side note have you had any issues with your Ford Bronco? It does seem to be having some problems.
I think this would be a much better vehicle as an EV!
Evie should have her own channel. Enjoy all you guys and the vlog. But no helicopters. Thanks.
Ice cream is good anytime any weather.
Super 😊
Do the rear windows go all the way down? Your daughter normally shows us that.
How's it living in Lake Arrowhead??
I also like ice cream in the winter. I think the new HRV should no longer be a competitor to the Trailblazer since it is now longer. Based on size, I would say the Trailblazer competes with the Kia Seltos, Subaru Crosstrek, Nissan Rogue Sport, Ford Bronco Sport, Toyota C-HR, Volkswagen Taos, and Mazda CX-30
Well....hmmmm....I'm a little (no, alot) concerned about these micro-turbo engines GM, Nissan and KIA/Hyundai are gleefully offering as 'powerplants'. Toyota engineered direct and port injection on it's turbo charged engines to prevent carbon buildup and engine degradation. Toyota is all about reliability. The rest? Only time will reveal the sturdiness of these little poppers.😁
Where's the sun roof
"No one makes me bleed my own blood!"
@UCNl4OKKBubFUaz-GHOgZtzQ ? I'm confused, but I'm old and it's getting late, so, not a surprise.
White Goodman you a great dodgeball player. No way you guys should have lost to average Joes gym
1.2 liter? That's rediculous. Give me the "big block" 1.3L, with an extra roaring 100cc's.
Big block 1.3L...lol
@@justinorwen1141 :D
I can hardly wait until 2024 when Chevy introduces the 1.0 liter I-2 engine.
😁😁
To power your Hot Wheels toy car?
Is the “Iguana” an “Innuendo Iguana” 🦎?
Crap mobile. The turbocharger went on mine with just 8500 miles on it. If not under warranty, this would have cost around $1,500.
👍
Where is the engine built? China or Mexico...no thanks!
Otherwise, for the price it looks decent.
Neither, Korea.
Engine is from Mexico
I thought about buying three of these and then got my senses together and bought a macan instead…I think I made the right choice
Wow, 30k and no rear seat vents. Hard pass
My dad had a 1955 Chevy Station Wagon. It also was blue with a white roof. I think it looked better in 1955 than it does today. My dad was a family man ahead of his time. Extreme child abuser, stealing cars, arranging car accidents and making false medical law suites. I guess he also committed a murder or two or. I hope families like their Chevys.
Damn!
@@dextersmithbsee I forgot arsonist. Dad served on a U.S. Navy Escort Carrier in World War II.

No CD player? Hard pass.
@Jonathan A r/whoosh
Nissan rogue sport still has a cd player.
@@judybee6698 And it’s being discontinued, go figure
Whats a cd?
The center of the dash is to small for a CD player and a touch screen. Yes All car makers- people still like to play CD's in cars. Ditch the pay /monthly sattelite radio garbage and install CD players. Sattelite radio is expensive because the Monthly fees include music royalty fees & programing.
That thing is pathetic compared to the original trail blazer
A KIA soul is pathetic compared to anything.
These types of engines are pathetic. And I drive a Prius
I don't like Prius, what a garbage car.
I would NOT reccomend to Evie to drive this...thing. #Garbage
