- Hey guys so today in this video i wanted to know your opinion on the ref situation that is currently going on in the nhl. Calls like the sam bennett goal, the constant no calls on obvious penaltys, the quinn hughes slash and more so lemme know your opinion!

There will always be bad/missed calls. What is disturbing is when it is reviewed on a video replay and they still get it wrong.

Reffing is bad and I don't believe there is something we can do about it. I think this is just a best humans can do with it. Maybe we just need linesman on the ice and refs would watch game from outside of ice level and call it from there. Like 4 refs maybe. Maybe that's enough eyes and angles to sort this out. What drives me crazy is when they go look at the video and still manage to get it wrong all the time. That baffles me to no end.
When you have refereed hockey you are qualified to criticize them. Otherwise, you are probably making more mistakes than you are accusing them of making. No, I don't think they should be interviewed after or during the game. Furthermore, I don't appreciate reporters having access to ask questions of the coaches during play. It has gotten to be much too intrusive & places unwanted & unneeded extra pressure on them.
I agree. They have a thankless job.
The public doesn't understand the rules of the game (not sure if anyone does) The refs need to be held to the NHL's standard, not ours. Other sports are easier to understand but the NHL's rule book is insane and everchanging.
Garbage bush league officiating has always been a trademark of the NHL. It adds an element of random uncertainty to the game that hockey fans seem to enjoy (I don't; I quit watching NHL hockey 30 years ago).

The reffing is not awful, it sucks. I believe there’s interference and money exchange from the back door. They say they don’t influence the game but they do. Betman I believe is the problem behind it all. He has to go
