    My conclusion is that many of these claims are true but due to its "marketing" maybe many people can get fooled because Devialet tries to show the most shocking specs but not really their methods to measure them or the "real world use". Great video as always!

    Hey, super Video und tolle Arbeit die dahinter steckt! Habe mir gestern in SG Akustik Karlsruhe 2x die Devialet Reactor 900 gekauft und habe diese dort im direkten Vergleich zu den Phantom Gold im Stereo Modus und den Reactor 600 im Stereo Modus im Testraum gehört. Habe mich für die Schwarzen 900er entschieden, fand diese klangen für mich am besten. Die Phantom waren für den 35qm großen Hörraum einfach zu viel.

    I've had my pair of 900W reactors for a few days now. The sound quality is mind blowing, but my right side reactor keeps dropping out and I have to reconnect very often. Its driving me crazy. Does anyone have any tips for maintaining a consistent stereo connection. I use a Bluetooth connection with my mobile to play music. Both reactors are plugged into the same wall socket and my network interface on both reactors is set to WI-FI. Ive tried Auto and PLC, they both drop out. Funny thing is, that its always my right side speaker that drops out, yet my Devialet app says the left side speaker is missing. Very strange. Any help would be much appreciated.

    One of the clearest review about this device, thanks man! I'm in an internal discussion between the Devialet (probably the silver phantom) and Cabasse Akoya. The Elipson W35 is also in mind... Do you know them? Regarding Devialet, do you think it worth it to buy just one?

    • @speakertoni2680
      @speakertoni2680  Před 4 lety +2

      Toni Marin I requested a review unit of the Cabasse two times but my email was blocked every time haha.
      I haven’t heard of the Elipson yet but it also seems like a Phantom inspired speaker just like the Cabasse.
      I’d also be interested in which of them is the best sounding but unfortunately I can’t really tell.
      To answer the general question I don’t think that it’s worth to buy just one speaker if you want to listen to music on a serious level.
      If you just want to have music in the background or for a party it’s ok but not if you’re an audiophile.

      @@speakertoni2680 Got it, thanks. I really want to invest in something that sounds amazing, but the mono/stereo thing has me worried. Elipson seems to be the only stereo one. If you're gonna invest that much money in it, you have to be able to make the best of it. My apartment is small so I'm not looking for sound power, I'm looking for top quality. I really like music and I listen to a wide range of music every day, where listening to details is important so I'm looking for a device to enjoy the sound experience, so to speak.

      At 70-80% there is no difference. It doesn't get that much louder though from 80 to 100. Definitely a bit higher on the high end but low end stays just as violent at 60% as on 75%. Really, they do not give in on the low end. I use two Classics.

    First of all I have to say I'm a true silent long time fan of yours, I really like your scientific approach to testing speakers. We really seem to be in line with our thoughts. I always seem to be agreeing with you. I'm really not a commenter, but for this occasion, I thought I'd try it this way. I'd like to ask you for a favor.. Could help me with something? I was just fixing air leaks on my Riva turbo x to make it perfectly sealed, but apparently when you don't connect the touch keys before you connect the battery, it goes pop and it dies... I was really attached to this speaker and I can't find anyone who wants to ship one to Belgium for a reasonable price. Amazon doesn't even want to ship to this country at all.. Then there are sellers asking 300 or 400 euros for this speaker, that's insane as you well know.. If you could help me find another reasonably priced working speaker or a donor for that matter (since there is only one circuit-board fried I'm sure this could be replaced). I would be ever so happy if I could get another one or get this one repaired, but they seem to be rare at this moment in time. If there is ever something I could do for you, just ask. Greetings

    Nabend Toni, erst einmal...deine Reviews sind klasse. Nun zu meiner Frage: Stehe vor dem entscheidungs problem, ob ich 2 x 600 oder 2 x 900 nehmen sollte? Die 600er wären natürlich klasse, da ich nur ein 24qm Wohnzimmer habe und der knapp 500€ unterschied zu den 900er, ist auch nicht zuverachten. ABER auch wenn alle sagen, der Unterschied zwischen beiden Modelen, ist nur die Lautstärke....sagt mir diese Seite was anderes: versus.com/de/devialet-phantom-reactor-600-vs-devialet-phantom-reactor-900! Bezgl. Subwoofer, Neodym-Magnet und der 600 soll einen Passivradiator als Speaker haben. Desweiteren höre ich sehr viel Rock & Heavy, sollten die auch händeln können? Meistens werden ja Mainstream Pop bzw. RnB zur anhörung hergenommen. Zur Zeit höre ich Musik über meinen PC System Boxen Edifier S550 ( 5.1 mit 35W pro Box und seperatem Subwoofer ) Danke dir schonmal im vorraus

      PhysioA vielen Dank!
      Der Bericht auf dieser Seite ist etwas verwirrend.
      Ich war bis jetzt immer der Meinung, dass es praktisch die gleichen Geräte sind und der Verstärker bei dem einen einfach stärker ist.
      So wurde mir das auch bei Devialet bestätigt und das was auf der Seite steht ergibt meiner Meinung nach auch wenig Sinn.
      Der 600er hat laut denen keinen Subwoofer, was sollen dann die Chassis an den Seiten sein?
      Außerdem würde eine Passiv Membran anstelle von 2 aktiven Woofern, wie beim 900er, eine komplett andere Gehäusegröße bedeuten.
      Deswegen kann ich mir nur vorstellen, dass der Fehler bei der Seite liegt. Ist mir bei den schon häufiger aufgefallen. Zum Beispiel bei Smartphone vergleichen sind manchmal Falschinformationen drin.
      Von daher würde ich vielleicht nochmal bei Devialet nachfragen und sie darauf ansprechen und dann zwei 600er nehmen.
      Rock müsste relativ gut gehen, weil der Phantom einen guten Grundton hat.
      Trotzdem ist er natürlich nicht so sauber wie ein echtes Hifi System.

    Also i would say for the power on rms look at the back panel of the speaker you will see the power consumption value. The true power in rms never exceed the power consumption. So you have an idea of you Real power of your speakers.
    For example my sub svs sb1000 is rated to 300w rms and i see 300w as power consumption on the back so the statement is true , same with my monitors with a power in rms claimed as 75w rms and i see on the back 110 w of power consumption it can be really possible of 75w rms .
    czcams.com/video/9f2hIlQLM5g/video.html at 1:39 and 1:47 on this link
    But b&w asw 608 and 610 are examples of totally biaised power announcement with 200wrms claimed but on the back of these subs we see 40w of power consumption so the real power on rms can not exceed 40w rms on these sub which is very far from the announcement .

    • @mabl4367
      @mabl4367 Před 4 lety +1

      No. First of all kwh is a unit of energy not power. Second as was stated in the video the stated output power is peak power not sustained power. The amplifier will contain capacitors that buffer charge to be able to deliver the stated peak power when needed. This means that the power drawn from the outlet will be smoothed out so if you measure the power draw at that point you will not see the peak power.

      @speakertoni2680  Před 4 lety +1

      Impuls audio you can’t compare the two systems like this
      It all depends on the efficiency of the speaker
      Your system probably has a much higher efficiency than the phantom and that’s why it achieves more dB with less watts
      If you have 105dB of efficiency 100 watts will be enough for 120dB at least

    • @miespost

      High end pro audio company’s don’t really lie, k.2 series will push 1000 watts rms and all the rcf fbt and bass boss stuff I’ve used has reached there power spec and spl spec, still hesitate at calling the dv12’s a 1500 watt rms speaker and they only push that on a test tone but get dam loud for the small thing

      you can fudge the numbers easily, use 4 ohm peak power with distortion at 900 watt, then in real life you got 2 drivers so half it, 8 ohm half it again, no distortion 30% loss, RMS power is 50% lower again. so from 900 claimed its really 100watts pr woofer in 8ohm 1%THD RMS. marking trick and still kind of correct saying 900w.
