One year ago today, I released The Gem Guide. The video is more to me than just my most successful, but a line in the sand for the quality of my content. It became the blueprint for my style of content, that still wasn't solidified at the time. But that's just the sentimental side of things. The Gem Guide is horribly outdated now (Duel Quizzes Not Existing Anymore, More Characters and New World, Changes in PVP Rewards, etc) So a redo was in order. Once again I'm angling this to be helpful for newer players of Duel Links, and that it's up to date, as the Gem Guide still gains views, but you'll just be disappointed to find that Duel Quizzes don't exist anymore. And that's kinda messed up Konami

Day 1 player here, I just came back to Duel Links after I quit it after 2 years of playing, the game became a bit harder but its still so fun and unique, I dont know much what to do and what boxes I should go for so I hope you do a video talking about something like this , thank you for this video it was really fun to watch it even tho I already knew most of these things since the system didnt change that much. (I already hit King of games back then so now im scaring the newbie players with my icon and some unexpected decks haha)

Rewatching this video again, hope you’re doing well homie. This channel was SO helpful after taking a 3 year break from Duel links and starting my account from scratch. Now I have a bunch of my characters maxed out, and have some decent Cyberse, Hero, and Blue eyes decks (cause they literally gave away the blue eyes one lmao). Anyway IMPORTANT POINT, when you up your stage level all the regular duelists respawn! This is incredibly helpful, and you can use this just for exp or tactically use it to upgrade many different stages basically at the same time. I have maxed out two of the world all ready, so yeah it helps lol. I’ve only been playing for like 2 months.
a "strategy" that I use to preserve the gems on my account is to NEVER farm the characters when I'm not building any decks (even because our gems expire), so I just farm the gems of events/ranked, and when I want to build a deck, usually I'll have 9999 gems on the counter, which are the event gems, and if I need more gems, I finally farm the characters. Of course, you can do this smartly by leaving your characters with little XP to level up to the next level that gives gems, which optimizes your time.
This is what I normally do but I went crazy on these selection boxes I have my account from 2017 and this will be the last grind i hit to 9,999 i think. Granted i di spend some money but this is exactly what I do
Same here's, im not farming the characters unless i need to build something, also im not leveling up the stage to give me extra gems saving

i remember hearing someone say in a video years ago that getting your duel monsters stage missions all finished makes you get better rewards from events but i don't know if that's still true or not. i think it's definitely the most worthwhile of all the worlds to do stage missions in since you get other rewards like mats and sleeves themed to monsters from that world which is fun to me

I quit duel links a year ago and forgot to save my progress, the onlt deck i remembered how to play was a gimmick puppet deck and i spent all my tickets and gems investing into darkness gimmick. Now i need gems to make an even stupider destiny board deck, thank you!

Not sure how true this is for everyone or how reliable of a method this is, but.... ive noticed if you lose your first duel against the vagabond, he will spawn immediately afterwards giving you one more shot at the full EXP. This may be common knowledge im not sure. Just picked up on it a while ago. Anyways great video! Even us dusty old players had some stuff to learn it seems.
The DSOD event was great for farming for the rewards
Just put bunch of High Level monsters that can be normal summoned in dimension duel and let the auto duel normal Summon Blue Eyes.
It takes time but i maxed out Aigami thanks of the event for last 3 levels.
If someone want to farm at the gate some cards,build a Stall Montage Dragon with Draw Sense:Earth skill.
Just add a bunch of high level monsters and many copies of Montage Dragon and add some card that stops a direct attack like Kiteroid,and don't forget about "anti magic attack" spell(idk how is called,is that SR quick play spell that activates at the start of the battle phase and doesn't allow the set traps/spells to be activated ).
If it’s card drops you’re after, the best time to farm Lv40 Legendaries is when the +1 duel reward event is in play. Winning by burn damage is the other easiest way to boost your rewards, and if you’ve got the keys, you can even use the x2 multiplier if you’re lazy like me.

Love the video, and it makes you realize that Konami has a hard on for DM world and leaves the other ones behind. I wish it wasn’t as painful to grind the levels for characters. I mean instead of a 1.5xp bonus they should slap us with a sexy 2x or 3x xp campaign

Don’t forget each week the ranked duels rewards reset which is basically rewards for just participating in it.

as a free to play player fucking thanks, this video makes me so much more optimistic about having to spend money. I wish farming wasn’t so stupid. Summon a god card, play shiny cards, do 10000 damage, activate a spell and trap and do every extra deck summon. bonus for having few life points or 3 to 0 cards left in your deck.
Not a bad guide. Here's a free tip from both a P2W from the early days and Gem Baron these days: Nox. If you don't use Duel Links a lot on a physical phone this emulator not only plays games much better than most mobiles but did you know you make backups and then use those to re-roll? You can't do that in Master Drool hell for trying to uninstall the alt it will take out your main game file. XD Using this system I can take the bad pulls from a box and just etch-a-sketch-shake to get what I want and this has helped me make some fun styles of beginning almost like how to speed runners do for games. I once thought of making a guide on that but I'm glad I didn't since the Quiz nerfs.
Though some of my best deck strats still stand: When you only have two tickets and a few months to use them wait and watch what people play in rank. If you see a certain staple coming up a lot like for example Needle Ceiling probably won't hurt to waste the UR on that. Also the Red Eyes Structure is still pretty GOATed and should get you through not only the base missions but can still sweep people on ladder and is good to build around and learn the game with while piling up gems. Get a nice base, make a back up if you're on Nox and then you have a nice re-roll machine for later. Honestly people who throw DL away to go play Master Drool make my head hurt when the game has CAPPED GEMS and unlike DL if you lose you get literally nothing. Worthless game.

Why would even reroll in master duel 💀. The game gives you nearly 6k gems starting out and there's the multiple solo modes that all give 200. And there's also ranked mode trough rookie you can't derank so it's more 1k gems easily. You legit can make any deck in the game with just that. In duel links you can't even build a proper deck with the starting gems

Orbs are not totally useless after you've leveled up all characters. I use them to farm double the gate keys when that multiplier event comes up.
Exactly what I do too! When all gems from character level ups, event missions etc have been gotten the ONLY semi reliable way of grinding (because it feels like a chore) for gems at the best economy is getting duel assessment scores of 8000+ legendary duelists at the gate reward multiplier at x1.
It really grieves me that Konami refuses to increase the rewards recieved in line with the reward multiplier. (8 max for reward multiplier x1, 16 max for reward multiplier x2 etc)

Forgot to add that the Vagabond exp varies depending on the difficulty level of its deck, Legend (hardest) gives you more exp than Bronze (weakest). You gained a new subscriber btw

hi, i'm a beginner. all i got is the yami yugi deck the game starts out with. should i stay on stage 2 and just grind for a while and collect gems, coins & and gate keys or should i just do the stage missions and fly right through til i get to lvl 45?
Yeah there is a lot of gems in DL, but it takes so much time😢

found this video while searching why number 27's effect is not working. might as well ask while I am here. I had its effect working yesterday on bronk while using a cyber dragon deck but when i try on say yuma with and without his skill it wont work i beat the monster with number 27 and end my turn but the option to use its effect does not show up. please help and thx
Old video, I know, but have you ever had maxed out duel assessment reward items (like jewels or gold) in your account while still dueling?
I'm wondering if you have the max R jewels for example (99,999), do you still get R jewel drops at random from duels? Does the system recognise you've maxed out on those and give other rewards from the pool?

Define "a lot." I honestly feel like I never have enough duel orbs, which will probably be a dead statement by the end of 2023.
Jokes aside, I'm still waiting on the non-existent event unlock ticket that will never exist. My imagination is a terrifying location for ideas that will never make it into reality, but I unlocked every character before the character unlock ticket was first introduced. I'm keeping the dream alive anyway since there is one particular event I missed out on that I wish I could do and I will be playing until the game dies. Who knows what will be introduced in the future?
As far as the guide goes, I wish I knew about reward multipliers earlier. I didn't really need to learn about them at first since I was too busy trying to unlock characters and making it harder than it actually was to do it.
I've purposely slacked off on stage missions though to keep standard duelists easy to auto-duel against. Though, are you serious? Only DM goes past stage level 30? I guess that's something I would know already if I wasn't slacking on the stage missions. And, as much as I say I'm slacking off, non-DM worlds being capped at stage level 30 doesn't make me look that lazy. There's even one world or two that is stage 30 by technicality. If I'd collect the stage mission rewards, they'd be maxed out from the sound of things.

I wanna say there is another way to refill your standard duelist without orbs. I keep the missions lower on other series and when I run out I go and finish up an easy stage. The level up refills them.

Honestly, i wish that i could experience Duel links from the start again with all the knowledge i have now.. lately Duel links hasn't been much fun for me, i think just the crawl towards the half off gems and dream tickets along with grinding characters to lvl 45 is what's kinda killing it for me. I wish there was a way to sort of time travel back to day one, since i got into it at the very start of 5DS era, kinda got uninterested up and down throughout the game.. next i had picked it up was in the DSOD world era, which i liked but it just felt too hard to get into so i eventually left it again.
I think around the ArcV era i got way more interested and i haven't stopped being interested since it began, and i've been playing pretty much ever since. But i really wish i experienced the game back then, because i missed out on so much limited time stuff that'll probably never get put out again :(
Another thing i've been thinking of is maybe also having a 2nd account and playing completely from scratch with that but.. don't know if i'm entirely up for that but sounds fun to start off at least

In all seriousness there's a reason it coincided with Links as a thing. They added hyper-detailed animations, and even some effects to cards like Monster Reborn so trimming the fat was not just a necessity but also might net them some lazy or ignorant people's wallets. Win-win for them.

Friend, how can I summon a monster in a different row or column? it always start in the middle column
So go to your settings and go to Duel then look for Card Placement. Set it to Manual 2 - so that way you can set your monster AND spells and traps in any column you want (you'll need to if you're playing around Mekk Knights)

If you're resetting the box after every pull you have higher rate that first day to pull UR and SR stuff but yeah draining the box will be just a lucky pull at some point. Keep in mind it will be the Dream Tickets next year or later this year probably.

You kinda forgot to add whenever you complete a stage mission it refreshes the amount of standard duelist in your world so you won't need to use up your duel orbs to reset them.

Piloted well, the deck can definitely hit King of Games, I probably recommend them higher than other people, but it's for sure a good deck

I've been playing since GX and I've only ever maxed out Yubel (45) 💀 Yubel is my go-to main but lately been trying out the Rose Dragon girl with my unbeatable aromage deck that no one is ever prepared for so they lose effortlessly in Legend 😂
But thanks to that time, i have pretty much infinite orbs and infinite of those XP booster stones and keys.

Just putting this Here in case anyone reads it. Dinomist was a very good Deck to invest in and I think is underrated. It’s very fast as a farming deck and can get u pretty high in Ranked. Also remember that Spinos’s effect isn’t a once per turn.
P.S: All the cards for it are SR and under and the whole Main deck is in Forces Of Infinity. For extra deck it’s optional But it can get u out of bad situations sometimes.
Dinomist can earn you some enemies more than friends but yeah they are a great auto Duel Deck and way to learn about the game in modern sense. Also combining Dinomist with the Dracoslayer Master bundle will net you some nice gems and pulls + works quite well with the arcetype if you want to try for their synchro or use your SR dream tickets on it.

Because Duellinks is much easier to get into than MD. And it's more competetive.
Skills offer new gameplay interactions and you can play your favorite anime Duellist. Also Duellinks Duells doesn't last 10-15 minutes like these masterduel Duells. The game is faster in terms of Animations , it's format (speedduell)
and actually has an overworld , events with characterdialogs and you can actually enjoy the Game PvE. You can grind for gems by leveling characters (which is completely missing in MD)
And the box system in Duellinks is superior than MD box system (4 cards from masterpack rest from the "specific" box)
MD's only pros is it's crafting and the music and the Animation/ HD Card/Field and you "Pets" design.
Nothing Anime related , only people who throw max C and other handtraps at each other and playing 6 omninegates break my board lul.

This game was so much better back in the day.... I hate the "new' Yu-Gi-Oh... Way too much to learn and it's now all about how to win in one turn... Takes the fun out of dueling. And what happened with the voice actors???? They aren't there anymore. It's sad to see this game fall by the waist side.
