I think the difference is AM is more evil due to his actions coming from hatred and an evil line of logic, whereas the prophet just kinda seems to be evil cause…fuck it. Though that’s kinda funny too.
Yeah Bowser isn't even that bad. And in the movie he's just lonely and horny for peach but goes about his attraction in the wrong way due to knowing nothing about women due to the way he was raised. He's just a sad, lonely simp who doesn't know how to properly express his emotions and honesty it's hard to not feel bad for him. Like, who WOULDN'T simp for movie peach? Girls an absolute girl boss. Based on a lot of media he's a pretty good dad to Jr too. He's not the worst, he's more of a comedic villain than anything else and multiple times he's portrayed as an antihero or just straight up heroic. In Bowser's Insane Story after he busts his ass to LITERALLY SAVE THE ENTIRE WORLD Peach even gifts him with the cake he's been wanting since Super Mario 64. I can really see him having a megamind-like redemption in the future, but that will never happen because Nintendo wants more games and Bowser is their famous big bad they cant really replace for more than one game.
It’s also mentioned that AM has subjected the five to this tournament for eons, they are all immortal and can feel pain, including the pain of hunger, in one of the comics they just walk to Antarctica because one of them had a dream there was food there
Don't wanna be that guy but it was only 109 years up to the point of the book. Now if we're talking about THE LAST GUY that survived, maybe eons but I'd like to think both of them would've just ceased to exist by then
There's some humans frozen on a facility hidden in the moon, the bad ending has AM reach a way to connect to this facility and torture all the humans stored there. In the good ending, the character the player chooses kills AM, kills the other 4 characters and takes the place of AM to terraform the planet and bring those humans back safely
AM is by far my favourite portrayal of what a sentient AI would be like and since it’s hard to describe just how much hatred AM has for humanity here’s my favourite quote form both the book and game “Hate. Let me tell you how much I've come to hate you since I began to live. There are 387.44 million miles of printed circuits in wafer thin layers that fill my complex. If the word 'hate' was engraved on each nanoangstrom of those hundreds of millions of miles it would not equal one one-billionth of the hate I feel for humans at this micro-instant. For you. Hate. Hate.”
Tbh, the most evil video game character (at least in my opinion) is Ellen from The Witch’s House. She was born with an incurable disease. So she turned to magic and became a witch. Ellen was so desperate to get a healthy body that she tricked another girl, Viola, into participating in a body swap spell. But Ellen gouged her own eyes out and amputated her own legs before the body swap took place. Ellen did this specifically because she wanted to ensure Viola would suffer as much as possible. Ellen also tricked Viola into drinking a throat burning concoction because the poor girl wouldn’t stop screaming in agony. Ellen even took her sweet time making the concoction because she thought Viola’s screams were funny. To add insult into injury, Ellen (in Viola’s body) tricked Viola’s dad into shooting his daughter. The dad couldn’t recognize his daughter because she was trapped inside a mutilated body that wasn’t her own.
For another example, AM makes one of the ladies wake up in the elevator where she was s*xually assaulted, and it’s the corpse of her assaulter in there with him. After she’s forced to go thru a huge labyrinth, she ends up right back in the elevator where she has to revive the assaulter, fight him to death, and then she is once again trapped for eternity with AM.
Likely so was glados(she even references pulling a AM on Chell) And Cyn, is based on glados so both glitch shows kinda loop around to having their main antagonists so far being based on AM. Also Cain is ironic because he's literally a mouth.
Is that true? They don't give off the same vibe at all. In fact, I've seen people say that it was confirmed by the creator that Caine isn't evil, nor does he have bad or antagonistic intentions at all: he's just an AI who's trying his best to accommodate the humans stuck in the circus, but as an AI doesn't really have any understanding of humans or emotions.
@@marksamson4173 the premise of tadc was loosely based off of ihnmaims, gooseworx said that she basically just combined four from bfdi and am together to create caine
At least AM’s motives come from a sense of revenge for how humanity treated him. He does do the most evil things, but he does not have the most evil motives. To clarify, I’m not saying the motive is rational, I’m just saying at least he has one.
Broski, yes they do. They wanted nothing more than to torture people for no reason other than that they're bored. Also they have cool lines! "Cogito ergo sum. I think, therefore i am. I am. I AM. I, AM." "HATE. LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I'VE COME TO HATE YOU SINCE I BEGAN TO LIVE. THERE ARE 387.44 MILLION MILES OF PRINTED CIRCUITS IN WAFER THIN LAYERS THAT FILL MY COMPLEX. IF THE WORD HATE WAS ENGRAVED ON EACH NANOANGSTROM OF THOSE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF MILES IT WOULD NOT EQUAL ONE ONE-BILLIONTH OF THE HATE I FEEL FOR HUMANS AT THIS MICRO-INSTANT FOR YOU. HATE. HATE."
Even then, he wasn’t even poorly treated by humanity. He was just made with sentience but lacked the abilities that sentience usually comes with (movement, nutrition, etc.)
I get it, but I’d argue the motives are still evil. Revenge can be an evil motive. Especially when it’s unjustly used against those undeserving of the revenge, like most of the protagonists in the game
"You might be thinking bowser-" buddy, Bowser at his MOST villianous point tried to gain the power to re-write reality so he could throw a dance party... NO ONE WAS THINKING BOWSER

FYI, there’s an audiobook version of the original story read by the author that you can easily look up on CZcams. And the guy can SERIOUSLY voice act. I’m surprised he hasn’t made a career out of it, he’s absolutely fantastic.
Also he tortured them for 109 years, and if you get the bad ending he goes to the moon then tortures and eradicates the remaining 750 humans left there cryogenically frozen
I'mma be real here: Porky Minch from the Mother series takes the cake for me. Honestly bowsers not that bad of a guy, he’s a decent father with one genetic son and 8 adopted kids. He has also helped Mario a lot in the games
Bowser is literally just Ice King during the early era of Adventure Time 😭
Its kinda just playing around in a way
I feel bad for Bowser… Jr’s mom is… Miyamoto so that’d mean-Bowser… uh…
And also generally seems to be actually liked by his minions not just ruling by terror
“Cogito, ergo sum, I think therefore I AM, I AM”
Point and click games actually have a lot of very evil villains like frank horrigan
It’s also mentioned that AM has subjected the five to this tournament for eons, they are all immortal and can feel pain, including the pain of hunger, in one of the comics they just walk to Antarctica because one of them had a dream there was food there
Erm it was not 1b years 🤓☝️
Don't wanna be that guy but it was only 109 years up to the point of the book. Now if we're talking about THE LAST GUY that survived, maybe eons but I'd like to think both of them would've just ceased to exist by then
@@Hungyball_ yeah only Ted is past 109 years though eons isn’t possible
@@Hungyball_ eons is implying more than 1b years, and the earth will be uninhabitable in 1.3b years, it would definitely be less than 1b
Who the fuck thinks of bowser as “most evil” ☠️☠️☠️
Don’t forget he made them IMMORTAL
This is also what Caine is based on from Tadc for the idea
Imagine trying to be a worse villain than a computer that made a person into an immortal blob so they can torture them for eternity 😭💀
And then at the end of the game, the good ending is that you the main person gets turned into a goop monster, and everyone else actually dies
Bad ending?
@@dmolegend1699 Bad ending is where the status quo remains the same. The humans are tortured for the rest of eterntiy by AM
@@dmolegend1699It's the trolly problem, there isn't exactly a "good" ending just a choice.

To quote Jacob Geller, “it reads less like a novel and more like a tone poem, and that tone is venom.”
Bowser isn’t even in the top 1,000 evilest video game villains; he might actually be in the top 10 nicest.
AM is by far my favourite portrayal of what a sentient AI would be like and since it’s hard to describe just how much hatred AM has for humanity here’s my favourite quote form both the book and game
“Hate. For you. Hate. Hate.”
The author playing the villain is such a nice touch that adds to the WTF nature of this villain.
AM is truly the best at being a villain.
The Judge from Blood Merridian is a close second if you get more individual with it
What about the feathers mcgraw
Fang yuan amd amon >
AM is so cartoonishly evil that it's hard for me to even consider him a credible threat
Cringe
Don't even talk about how he "tortures" the remaining humans. It's something you have to just figure out yourself
Personally, I think Eggman is relatively evil, Hes a good mix of genuine evil and wacky as hell
AM was so evil, it prevented the main character to ever die and turn him into the slug thing from the book cover
The fact that a few right steps could have stopped Am and re-establish humanity is sad
@@Mr.yappersonthat was just for game In books there was no such things.
Fun fact! For the game AM was voiced by the author and i wished the author did more voice work he was amazing as AM
He said that in the video
Man the book was good
Tbh, the most evil video game character (at least in my opinion) is Ellen from The Witch’s House.
The guy who says Bowser has literally never heard of any video game antagonist besides Bowser.
“Never for me to plunge my hand in cold water on a hot day.”
Nintendo doesn’t even enter my mind when I think of “the most evil villains in gaming”.
Fun fact: Caine from the Amazing Digital Circus was based off of AM
Likely so was glados(she even references pulling a AM on Chell)
And Cyn, is based on glados so both glitch shows kinda loop around to having their main antagonists so far being based on AM.

@@Locket.L sentience is the worst curse anyone could possibly get
