I’ve been telling you if you add a packet of salt to the old heaters in the water it reacts better and heats up more of your pouches of food so you could heat up more food in one pouch
That is actually a case from 1999. It is the old bag design used between January 1996 - December 2000 before they add the U.S. Government Property and Commercial Resale Is Unlawful labal in 2001.

Makes sense. I was going by what I found online for dating boxes. All the numbers on the outside of the box lined up with a box I have with 2019 meals in it, but the packaging is definitely different on the MREs themselves. TFW
Victor, I was in the USMC 80-84. We had C rats in bootcamp and for the first year in the fleet. Sometime in 82, as I recall, we started getting MREs. They were almost all freeze dried stuff. We had to add water to fruit and meat items. I thought they were alright. Usually really liked them because I was hungry. TFW!
I remember my cousin lived with me and his boss had gave him a huge box of MRE's the box had about close to 30 some odd meals in it all different type of menu's so one time we had a bad winter storm a no electric but I had a gas stove and no water but we had jugs of water so we broke out the MRE's instead we were like little kid's looking through the different contents of the meals we had a blast
I just had a 2014 Menu No. 5 Chicken with tomatoes and feta cheese that was darn tasty. My wife even tried a bite and said it was good (she is a picky eater).
Johnny’s seasoning is one of the very best general purpose seasonings there is I have used it for years buy it by the tub although it has msg in it I am ok with that Johnny’s without Msg is not good.

Yeah i Don't get it why most meat eaters are so much against vegetarian food. Like they talk about it like it's inedible when they just see it. I've found out veggie food is usually better than the meat option in most workplace/school cafeterias

Probably, because they are meant to be eaten within a short time after production. They aren’t meant to be held onto as items of interest.

That case is '99 for sure. The cake was rancid. That's why it felt like it dried your mouth. You'll probably be fine. Just loses flavour & nutrients.
