    I’ve been telling you if you add a packet of salt to the old heaters in the water it reacts better and heats up more of your pouches of food so you could heat up more food in one pouch

    Pretty sure by the outter packaging that mre is from 1999 not 2019. Would also explain the Tabasco sauce bottle

      Probably, because they are meant to be eaten within a short time after production. They aren’t meant to be held onto as items of interest.

    That is actually a case from 1999. It is the old bag design used between January 1996 - December 2000 before they add the U.S. Government Property and Commercial Resale Is Unlawful labal in 2001.

      My personal best is 49 lb blue cat caught at Lake Eufaula in July 2019 on a live bluegill. Only 17 lb shy of the Lake record.

    Good explanation on the FRH chemistry reaction. Other types use a white powder containing a lime chemical. Same result, adding water creates an exothermic heat reaction.

      I've reviewed a few 2019 MREs.....these were actually from 1999, as per the comments. They came in a box that was marked the same as my 2019 MREs came in, but I think they were transferred to a new box before they were sent to me. They seller couldn't guarantee the dates. TFW, Daniel.

    Interesting videos sir. I have heard that some guys in Vietnam would put the peanut butter on the fudge disc and have a poor man's Rees cup.       Yes, most others have said it's from 1999. I'm not sure. The box they came in (which may NOT have been the original box what with all the tape) was exactly like a box that I received 2019 MREs in, as far as the lettering and numbering is concerned. TFW!

    That case is '99 for sure. The cake was rancid. That's why it felt like it dried your mouth. You'll probably be fine. Just loses flavour & nutrients.

      Makes sense. I was going by what I found online for dating boxes. All the numbers on the outside of the box lined up with a box I have with 2019 meals in it, but the packaging is definitely different on the MREs themselves. TFW

    We started to get them after the Proper C Rations in the Cans . Never had Modern Day MRE . Unill 2 Yers ago to Try USArmy 1974- 1986

      Victor, I was in the USMC 80-84. We had C rats in bootcamp and for the first year in the fleet. Sometime in 82, as I recall, we started getting MREs. They were almost all freeze dried stuff. We had to add water to fruit and meat items. I thought they were alright. Usually really liked them because I was hungry. TFW!

    I remember my cousin lived with me and his boss had gave him a huge box of MRE's the box had about close to 30 some odd meals in it all different type of menu's so one time we had a bad winter storm a no electric but I had a gas stove and no water but we had jugs of water so we broke out the MRE's instead we were like little kid's looking through the different contents of the meals we had a blast

    Johnny’s seasoning is one of the very best general purpose seasonings there is I have used it for years buy it by the tub although it has msg in it I am ok with that Johnny’s without Msg is not good.

    The longer tobasco sauce sits it gets brown and it gets hotter. I love when I eat brown tobasco 😄 it s just like peanut butter, it never goes bad!

Or 19 Anyway m r e's are good for three to five years. I had ten years old one . Pork Patty in syrup. It was fine . Maybe I was lucky. But ya please do some research .and do a video on it so we can learn and know what we are eating and talking about. Just looking out for you. You can go on a military base . And see if you can get some m r e's. Good video.

      Yeah i Don't get it why most meat eaters are so much against vegetarian food. Like they talk about it like it's inedible when they just see it. I've found out veggie food is usually better than the meat option in most workplace/school cafeterias

    I propose a calange pops. Pick 1 random reasoning and a random meal and see if your choice of seasoning will help you or not maby 2 different types of seasoning or hot sauce something that would be available to a service man

    After you put the meal in the heater slide it back in the box. It will heat your meal better.

    Oh man this box will be fun, thinking they are just 3 years old. Most items will be rancid or just flavorless. Like 20 year old poorly heated chicken.

      @@MeAncient have to be honest though. This is where the lock code can play a trick on you and thus i think there should just be a date on it instead of a faulty code. Keep up the reviews!

      @@MeAncient Setting fire to an unused heater isn't a problem.
      The problem is the hydrogen and oxygen generated, when the heater is operating.
