From summer broadcasting on WNAS Radio/TV in 1990, a clip of a very young sounding Larry Estep announcing an underwriting grant (sponsor) message and performing an EBS Test.
Very nice, calming music- unlike most EBS/EAS tests/alerts. The announcer is a real human being with a personality. It's as if he says, "Yeah, don't worry. This is only a test. The nice music will be back in a few seconds." This actually calms me down after watching a scary one.
You just have to love radio stations that come in on television channels! One of the neatest things ever!

HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!
BEEEEEEEEEEEE-
Kenny g with ebs test!
It will be nicethat the Federal Gov't, would still keep the original EBS, instead of the EAS for what we got now.
Did you ever give public tours of your station at all way back when?
it was in a public high school so many folks came through on tours
I have to wonder if the graphics are related to the commodore 64
Yes indeed
Damn i just love that song before the test. Can you tell me what its called
I am pretty sure it is a Kenny G song
Ok thanks man.by e way im a big fan of yours
Sounds like the kind of music you would hear on the Weather Channel during the Local Forecast.
What time was the test?
Stephen Michael Harding at 1:22
I'm guessing they used a Commodore 64 for the text.
Christopher Sobieniak yes indeed
Larry Estep Makes for handy message board stuff. Of course I used to get spoiled thinking of the Scala on the Amiga.
looks like in the 80s
🍍
1:22 am, pm?
PM. EBS tests had to be done between 8 AM and local sunset.
2 in the AM PM
This is science report...today we found dinosaur DNA. Then all hell breaks loose.
I'll take an EBS - or, now, EAS - test *anytime* over Kenny G!
