    Just received my Spectre Comp. Shot it side by side with my full size Walther PDP. I can tell you all that the comp SUBSTANTIALLY reduced felt recoil.

    • @FumiTheKitten
      @FumiTheKitten Před 2 lety +4

      I have the spectre comp and both the full size pdp and the sub compact pdp. Even tho I love the spectre I shoot much better with both PDPs than the spectre. The PDPs trigger are much better. That being said as a edc the spectre is hard to beat.

    • @carsandgaming1734
      @carsandgaming1734 Před 2 lety +2

      That's less to do with the Spectre Comp, and more to do with the abnormally high recoil of the Walter PDP. It has more recoil than pretty much any other 9 mm on the market imo.

    • @Hawtload
      @Hawtload Před 2 lety +1

  • @JohnSmith-zq6zy
    @JohnSmith-zq6zy Před 2 lety +5

    I picked mine up and a xcompact. Went to the range to break them in and thought I should shoot the spectre comp first since it's smaller. The spectre comp had less recoil than the compact. It shot amazing and was just a blast to use. They were hard as hell to find and I still rarely see them.

      I got lucky and bought one out the door for 1,000-The difference between nine and some others -there is not the 2 comp cuts. There are the lightning cuts and the barrel is 3.6" -I love it. The last I saw the modle I have is Gun Broker 1,400 plus a bunch of fees = 1,900.

  • @IndianaDundee
    @IndianaDundee Před 2 lety +5

    No body mentions the spec comp has a shorter barrel with the longer slide...that has to be a factor effecting recoil.

      @growler1149 Před 2 lety

      I’ve watched your reviews nice setup you have with the light and green dot! With the 1,000 rounds through the comp now do you feel it’s still building up way more carbon than a standard XL? I’m considering this for my EDC.🔫Thanks

    • @TXHAWGKILLA
      @TXHAWGKILLA Před 2 lety +1

      @@growler1149 No doubt. I wouldn't let that stop you. It can still be cleaned but I did have to use a brass scraper on the end of the barrel. I haven't shot it too much since those first days running 1000 rounds through it. I'd still recommend it. It isn't my EDC but I do carry it when i want a weapon with a light. Hard to beat the regular P365 with a Wilson Combat frame for a EDC.

  • @peterdarlington4117
    @peterdarlington4117 Před 17 dny

    I have shot both versions of the P365, I shot the compensated version and I own a XL. And in my opinion there is nowhere near a 30% reduction. I would say 5-10 % at best, so for me the headache of dealing with cleaning that thing is not worth the gain you get from the compensation.

  • @topcow23
    @topcow23 Před 2 lety +11

    I can tell you right now as someone who had shot the spectre to the regular XL that the grip module is NOT the main reason for the improved shooting experience. I had the Wilson combat module on my regular XL and it stick to your hands like glue. However the felt recoil and controlability on the Spectre is NOTICABLY better.

    • @Javservice
      @Javservice Před 2 lety +2

      Only you and a few that are self convinced of this believe it. I can’t tell No difference if any at all.. recoil is almost the same. At least not the 30% they talk about. In my hands recoil reduction is maybe 5% to none… using the same Federal ammo on both.. to each it’s own. But I would pay $600 extra for this gun.. I rather buy two.

  • @jeffreylocke8808
    @jeffreylocke8808 Před 2 lety +4

    I may get one merely because the red dot can be installed without removing the rear sight. Mischief Metal makes an aluminum grip frame with a rail. The Omega version would be my pick.

  • @joeflowers9084
    @joeflowers9084 Před 2 lety +4

    I think the price on these will eventually settle from the 1200MSRP to 900-950, and in awhile they're going to come out with a value version of the Spectre Comp with a slide that has no lightening holes and all black (no gucci gold stuff) for like 900MSRP that will sell for 730-750...but that may take a year.
    I was going to coat the comp/front end in FireClean (which may or may not be vegetable oil, but definitely makes cleaning fouling off really easy). But it's good to know about the 50/50 vinegar/peroxide stuff.
    If you want to get rid of the sponginess in the trigger (and really make it quite better), then I'd recommend the Tactical Trigger kit. It does reduce the pull-weight IF you use the reduced-power safety plunger spring.

    • @joeflowers9084
      @joeflowers9084 Před 2 lety

      PS -- I usually use the HS507K, but the Zero ELITE optic is much better than the old Romeo Zero...the point-source emitter (versus masked-LED emitters) makes for a super crisp reticle (the circle-only is beautiful to look at). But I'm still most excited about the new HS EPS optics.
      I've found that the Ameriglo i-dot SG-101 sights are very low, but totally visible through a Romeo Zero Elite / HS507K.

    • @Blue.Lightning4
      @Blue.Lightning4 Před 2 lety +1

      Compensator and the
      Optics plate that leaves the rear iron sights.
      It looks similar to the Spectre Comp and sells for around $800, but is missing two of the most important features of the $1200 dollar version.

  • @WalshyRT
    @WalshyRT Před 9 měsíci

    Gray guns grip modules is worlds above both with grip texture. It’s a steep price to pay but you get much more stippling and you can really wrench down on it. I can vice that down and the gun just doesn’t move for recoil mitigation. Dot plus the grip module and the cost of the gun is steep. The difference between the xl and specter comp under those conditions certainly is hard to justify. It is better tho but diminishing returns rings true here. You’re also absolutely correct on the trigger it is the same with a fair amount of slack on take up. Reset is crisp tho and it’s not bad. Just expected a cleaner break compared to the og xl which wasn’t present.
    All that said it does inspire more confidence and i do shoot better with it. It is flatter shooting and both are very good with the og xl being about 75% of what i think the specter comp is without a better grip module with more stippling. If money is a concern there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the og xl i stil love mine and actually want to safe the specter bc i am worried about wear / build up on the comp with normal use. Maybe that’s just in my head tho lol. Nice review figured id share my thoughts for others interested.

  • @Sassquootchen

    I bought a Spectre Comp and fired it side by side with my NRA edition XL and for anyone that is considering it, There is a Substantial difference in the Feeling of shooting the Spectre comp, its immediately noticeable and In My Opinion the CZcams reviews did not prepare me for how much better it feels to shoot. To clarify, your Accuracy is entirely up to you as a shooter and your technique, this will not make you more accurate but with the Spectre Comp you cant feel the shot in your hand. That's the biggest way it feels better and with proper grip, tracking the sights or dot is a huge improvement. And I disagree with the grip module thing, putting the spectre comp slide on the NRA grip module its still noticeable that the felt impact on your hand is much less than a standard XL set up, you do have to adjust your grip more if you're not gripping the gun properly but its still not even remotely close to as much as the standard XL package. The Spectre Comp stands out among its Peers (micro carry guns) but its not the end all be all, with practice and training you can shoot just as well with the XL as you can the spectre comp the latter is just more comfortable.
