Very fond memories at the mall back in the ‘70’s, 80’s, n 90’s. Too bad kids today don’t have many places like a popular mall to hang out at anymore. I loved seeing ppl’s different styles being “shown off” to shock the normal ppl. The punk rockers had the coolest styles. Grabbing an Orange Julius or ice cream in the “waffle cone” was a weekend thing for me and my little sisters. Dad gave us $20 each and set us loose in the mall to buy clothes when a twenty could buy a new pair of Jordach jeans, an OP (ocean pacific) shirt, and a few games in the arcade. Dems were the good days🥰
I'm so glad you returned to the Dead Mall doctor. I still recall my last visit and there were all kinds of things wrong with it. Just the kind of place which needs your full attention.
Heh, at first I thought you managed to turn this one into an epic 3 hour saga. Makes sense to combine the two stories! Thanks for this one, Doc, I think malls have endless potential with creepypasta what with their mix of nostalgia, weird characters and stores, abandonment, and big open liminal spaces. If the listeners want a little extra creepiness to this one, be sure to check out the wiki or Relics site version of it, since the narrator's artwork adds some unsettling story-telling concerning her mental state. I also have the basic idea for a sequel to wrap all this up, but it will probably be a while before I get around to writing it.

One of my creepiest nightmares about zombie apocalypse involves a mall. I always said it was the dumbest place to be during that time because of all the glass…!
I was the older brother and everything was my fault. I got saved from getting screamed at because my little brothers friend ratted my brother out. The kid had bad anxiety and he just wanted her to stop. That was funny as hell!
No way any parents who don't have psychological disabilities or serious addiction problems could drive home for an hour without their seven year old kid. Especially with both parents around to notice... Then even if they did, I guarantee that any parent would immediately drive back and be their all night with security and/or the cops searching the mall.
I love the graffiti art and the story (didn't know those two went together). We've got some places with graffiti art where I live and I was able to get some shots of them before it was all tore down. Thanks for all your work!

The mall scene is in Home alone 2 lost in new york. It's a Christmas toy shop. He goes to a church in the first one. Ohbwait he does go to a mall but it's closed and he sees the fake Santa. I never went to it in the theater so maybe they cut shit out. They did do that to movies back then. Course I haven't seen the movie since it first came out on video.
@@JadedBelle so where did he meet the fake Santa? Because I do remember that part in the movie. I think he either asked him to bring back his family or gave him a Christmas card with that written on it.
@FrozenHawkHunter Well it wasn't actually a mall fake Santa worked at. It appeared to be a small building in the middle of town that was decorated for Christmas. Maybe like a public rental facility for special occasions I would assume. Kevin goes there as they are closing up and finds Santa getting in his car to go home.
With the Doc's help, if you close your eyes, you can almost smell the nostalgia.
