In my case you can see at 1:41 that the wires weren't so close so I covered them directly with the tape .

Im trying to make an emergency hand crank phone charger from a microwave motor connected to a standard USB cable. I would think I just need the positive and negative wires inside. (The red and black) but what is the process to deal with the green and white? I tried to just twist the green and white together and crank but that didn't show a charge. I can turn on a LED lamp with the motor so I know it works. Do I need to actually remove them from the end that plugs into the phone? I know very little about electrical but I am really wanting to learn.

》》 Some cables pins protections are pretty hard to be opened or maybe solid from inside that's why you can't open it, look for a cable like the one i used in the video, it's pretty easy to open it.
