Another great video. Carpet in vehicles is so unnecessary. Except for sound deadening, I can’t think of a single reason to employ it in vehicles.
Yes, but the defender doesn't have smooth leather on much of the dash and armrest. It's some type of almost suade feeling material, not sure if even leather, so I don't know what to clean it with. The material around the shift gear is the same, almost a furry type of material. When you use paper towel all the fibers get trapped in it.
Depends which defender, as this does have full leather so can be cleaned as normal. The style you are talking to can be cleaned with a cloth, but I wouldn’t ever suggest tissue paper, as like you say, it will grab the paper and tear it
COME ON.. I have a D90, my interior is black. What about the spongy neoprene like stuff??? It shows every little touch and is near impossible to clean, at least with soap and water, got any advice? I am thinking the lighter color hides the effects im talking about.. the black though is different.

Do you not find that Surfex leaves a little residue on interior touch points?
I haven’t come across this myself.
I use a glass cleaner or IPA on the chrome and glass touch points though

I haven’t in this case, but in the plastic trims I would use PERL at 1:10.
I wouldn’t dress the mats as can make them slippy
