I just have to say that you are my new best friend. I'm 49 and having everything you describe. This is life changing really. I just thought I was going crazy😂
Just turned 52 found you by accident CZcams shorts 😂 spot on many symptoms things I’m going through i’m going to have to dig in a little deeper for the menopause things with the anxiety somewhat depression aggravation hating my job as a nurse 30 years as one and I’ve got to where I hate it too much stress can’t handle it. i’ve been suffering with severe leg cramps for over a year keep telling my doctor and the only thing she’s done is told me to cut out caffeine which I hardly have any caffeine. I don’t drink pop only coffee and it’s usually decaf. maybe one cup regular a day. Shoulder pain is also an issue. I’m 5’8” and 145 pounds. I am good height and weight. Tree nut and peanut allergy. I need an appointment with you 😂
do you take a CALCIUM pill yet?
Try an osteopath they could be pain free way of healing your leg cramp cause. I love the osteo
Thank you Doctor!! I am vegan but I eat a lot of lentils, beans and broccoli. I needed this reminder. Happy New Year all! :)
I’m vegan too and calcium is perfect! No need for animal products.
hi..Do we all over 50 need to take calcium?
Do you take vitamin D3 & CALCIUM daily?
@@donnitawilliams1602 Hi Donnita, I get about half my calcium daily from soy milk and the remainder from whole plant foods. I am 58.
Broccoli is another one I can eat and I like it.
THANK YOU… Still RN, 50 yrs, also total hysterectomy at 37. Stopped estrogen at 57. Now 76. Still horrendous hot flashes, using otc estrogen cream, and recently started Wild Yam. U r right, chol + and decreased Ca after stopping estrogen. Please continue to educate, most info from men, and biased. I want to have my best life, will continue Wild yam, as long as it helps!!!
I'm 62. Total hysterectomy in 2007. I awoke on the table in misery !.My Naturopathic told me to try Estroven in the yellow box from Walmart for night sweats and hot flashes, etc. ."Yeah, right !. Like that's going to help".
I resisted a while...so sorry I did !. That $17.00 was well spent. Black Cohosh, Baby !. I found that with even just 1/2 a tablet, I got relief !.
I'm 52. should I be u seing HRT OR BIODENTICALS? & TAKE A CALCIUM SUPPLEMENT TO? THX
...We use calcium ever time we move a muscle. The body stores it when it's in our food and uses it from our bones if it's not in our diet. Hormones control this process. Best to keep enough going through the GI tract from a healthy diet so that when you are old you still have solid, strong bones! I was in an anatomy class in college with skeletons on tables for us to study. The young skull (smaller) was heavier than the adult / old person's skull. Eat healthy and drink water, not sugary drinks.
Do we need to take a CALCIUM supplement if we over 50??
Boogie down Dr H!!!! Grooving in with the good stuff (ie- info to help empower oursleves)!! Thanks for all the education you're providing!!!
Is it true that you have to eat the bones in salmon & sardines to get the calcium ?. Am sure I've heard that alot. Tuna doesn't pack their bones, so isnt listed for calcium.
I am guilty of eating salmon witthout bones in the foil packets only.
I don't eat the canned bones....and I have bone loss. My Dad used to feed me sardines in my high chair, guess he was doing Ok, lol!.
I had a problem with low vitamin D. You can't absorb calcium if you don't have D. It's very painful.
This explains why I’m in constant pain
@sheis1249 Try some over the counter D3. You might want to pair it with K2. It helps you absorb the D. They gave me a prescription. I don't remember the prescription dose. It might have been 11,000 ieus for 7 to 10 days. It was world changing.
Grinding eggshells and adding powder to yogurt or other food makes getting your calcium so much easier than eating all that food, especially if you are petite and don’t eat a lot. I just learned this and it’s so simple and makes my life so much easier. 😉👍
I have 3 quarts of eggshell powder right now that I've been saving for my garden 😮
@@brendahaynes5161 Try to use organic free range eggs so you get the best nutrients from what you consume😊
Lol was thinking that
Do you boil them prior to grinding them? What's your process?
I also read it could cause acid reflux. That was a surprise. Thoughts?
excellent information, that is me. I will try it. thanks
I think she like most ppl are trying to do good things...but typically leave us with more questions. As she states in multiple places it is different for every body.
🎉 Yes this one is confusing because our body makes calcium and if you have too much calcium it can hurt your arteries in your brain
What you need is good nutrition Vitamin D3 + k2 and magnesium
You’re a great physician.
Which brand do you recommend (pill and liquid option)? Please.
I think she said she prefers you get it from diet. But check out her shop !.
Just avoid falling for the calcium carbonate lie, as I did .Calcium proprionate or Calcium citrate are better. Calcium carbonate is made of ground seashells, not usual to the diet of humans.
Omgosh. This just blew my mind and made so much sense with some of my issues lately. I'm gonna get on the nutrition train asap. Thanks so much!!!!
*OHH... Magic. LOVE you gettin this groove on!!* ✨️❤✨️ *Keep it goin!!*
I'm 60. I finished menopause by 55. I've had treatment resistant depression for over 30 years & it's getting worse! The only relief I've had are ketamine IV infusion therapy.
But, it's expensive!
And I the past 4 months I've had to scale back from weekly infusions, which were WORKING has been reduced to 1x in 6 weeks!
I feel like I'm dying! In pain physically. The depression is so excruciating... I'm crying all day.
My next infusion is 1-3-24.
If I thought I could get in with ANY clinic, I'd be hunting them down, cuz I'm in so much emotion PAIN, I can hardly breathe!
Currently have uncontrollable high blood pressure. I went to the VA ER when I hit 199/108. They doubled my Losartan.
This is NOT living!!!!
This is SURVIVING, for survival's sake.
I made promises to family & friends that I wouldn't check-out early.
Some days, that's a white knuckle ride to keep those promises.
And ... the VA doesn't do ANYTHING for menopause.
I hate this. Crying all day, every day, over nothing is exhausting. 😢😔
🙏🏻 you find an alternative therapy that works for you. I feel you❤
I too feel for u just dropped by to say Hi and sending u vibes of hope and healing.
I have treatment resistant depression too. Do you do hormone therapy (estrogen, progesterone and testosterone)? That might help your mood. Also my functional med Dr recommended Low Dose Naltrexone, which I’m just starting. Research these online to find providers who will prescribe. ❤️🙏🏼
Sending all the support I can. Hoping you can find joy in your life.
Have you tryed HRT????
thank you so much. I do get SAD around this time and when I can't find the therapy light, it's very bad. Back to right diet.
Thank You Doc!!!

My New Year is Going to become a Happy 1 forsure.
Thanks Doc.....Keep on it, ill Stay Tuned💯❤️💎🙏🏽🤙🏽
Thank you for posting the problem AND the solution!
😳 those are all symptoms I’ve been experiencing. I love how you list options of natural foods containing calcium vs suggesting synthetics. ❤
Thanks for this great information.
Well that explains my recent cravings for poppy seeds.
Thank You!! Short and to the point! Love it!
Raw dairy/Kefir/hard cheeses
I'm loving your channel
Thankyou so much ❤
Wow i did NOT know that! Thank you!
Noted. And thank you!!
I'm 55 and my calcium is too high. What is that,?
Get yourself checked for hyperparathyroidism.
❤❤❤❤❤ love the vibe here
Thank you!❤🎉
Thank you!

At the age of 53 I’m feeling this. I must change my lifestyle
Thank you for sharing your knowledge Dr. I have especially found your info on female hormones to be useful as I am an older woman.
Thank you❤
Leafy greens, poppy seeds cooked in foods, salmon. I'm not particular about beans and lentils.
Do you have a book out? I hope so
Ty for this tip
So much illness now. Being poisoned food air water its disgusting they let these corperations sell these toxic foods products etc.
Thanks Doc!!!👍🤘🖖
Thank you
Wow I have a lot of these problems right now. I had some beans with lunch but I might add a supplement in.
I love you!!! Thank you !!! Somebody cares
You just described my friend
what is the relationship with hormones and calcium
I experience every one of those. Damn
Good to know 😊
what about cows milk and yoghurt?
This is good info! I also now recently read that if you’re supplementing magnesium you can be unintentionally decreasing your calcium. Im not sure how much or for how long this would take in an average person?
The depression is from it’s been a week and now I can’t move my hand it’s so stiff…
YES..but my IBS hates all of theese
I have been thinking that tingling and numbness was because of low blood pressure. Is that true.
I thought it was low B vitamins !! 🤷🏻♀️
You. Rock.
So neat
I’m have none of that!! I do have other things!😮
Omg I have all those symptoms .
Are there tests to show if we’re low?
So I take a calcium supplement with D3 and K2 and still suffer from those symptoms… now what?
Make sure you’re also taking magnesium with it.
Maybe digestive support to make sure you’re absorbing?
Im 40 and I have been told that I have low calcium, should I take a calcium supplement? And which one of so?
I get all that very interesting 🤔
I eat a pot collard and Asian mustard greens a month is this a source of calcium?
And paralyses.. weaknes, epileptic seizures, ..😢
Don't forget the k2 so that calcium goes where it should.
I wonder if there's been a misdiagnosis of low calcium thinking it's diabetes
Bradycardia?
I have a question about magnesium, I've been following you and want to start on what you reccommend, but my mag levels came back normal according to the regular format. Is this just an under reccongnized level system
But what if I have high calcium in both urine and blood? And osteopenia? I should not take extra calcium- magnesium and vitamin D will help, correct?
Add K2 with vitamin D, vital for the transportation of vitamin D to where it needs to be
You might have hyperparathyroidism (parathyroid adenoma) get your PTH hormone checked. It is often overlooked and can cause not only bone loss, but also kidney damage.
Mam I am from India .recently my triglycerides are 234 .is it related to harmonal problems or I should continue to take rosuvas and statin? I am 46 yrs old
Sardines?
Très belle ❤
Any reason to eat cheese
Having a few black seasme balls daily, its high in calcium and helps with low progesterone
How do you make those
I thought the body takes calcium from our bones if we don’t get enough from our diet. So why would we get low enough to experience symptoms of calcium deficiency? Would love an explanation! Thank you, Dr Haver! I always learn from you. 🌸
' cause eventually you can't replace it forever. Better to get newer, high quality calcium... and I don't mean Tums, baby
So then we end up w/osteeo. Brittle bones. If u de solve ur bones thru low calcium, the Ca+ in ur bones will NOT make up the difference. Ca+ in bones, not same as Ca+ need for other body function. Ca+ bone depletion contributes to fractures.
@@robynnedavidson6364
Thats right !. Well put !.
Add to this that many people are literally losing alot of calcium by peeing it out due to caffeinated
Beverages. Oi Vey !
Protect your scaffolding, you've only got one..
Who’s dancing with her 👋🏽
When I had a partial thyroidectomy…they removed my parathyroid glands. Sometimes I forget about taking extra calcium…and I pay for it.
Are you hypopara? Please recheck pth levels?
And if you have kidney stones😢?
Omg. That’s me to a T.
Mary I wish you were my doc lol
The reality is that at least a few of us are going to need calcium supplements to get optimal results. Which forms of calcium are the least likely to line our arteries and will instead do healthy things for us? I’ve heard that calcium supplements wind up going to the wrong parts of the body and causing harm.
What if calcium is high?
We recommend that you consult with your healthcare provider if you know that your calcium is high. XOXO Community Support Team
Why didn't you mention milk????
Do we need to TAKE A CALCIUM PILL DAILY OR???
sardines
❤❤❤
❤Me some you...😂
❤ you...but I prefer when you talking instead of showing...gets absorbed better..🥴lol❤️❤️❤️😆🙏tx🎉
❤❤❤😊
We usually need magnesium not calcium
We encourage everyone to meet their calcium requirements through diet rather than pharmacology. XOXO Community Support Team
100%
I. Love. Parmesan Cheese! I'm gonna get my Calcium on! Woot!
BTW, lack of calcium also prevents you to lose weight.
Insane yank insane complete insanity 😳 👏 😍 😮😮😮
